This is an intense film revolving around a girl's 'hard-not-life'. The acting was amazing, but you're wondering the whole time 'where is this story going?' and it goes nowhere. Perhaps that's the idea... just a snip-it of this girl's life. It's hard to judge the film, because it's so realistic. It just is... you know. I suggest renting this movie, it's not a movie you would want to see all the time.

Eh..? I don't understand what's so brilliant about this film. The film tries too hard to seem authentic and blatantly fails. There are far too many extremes which make the film annoying like the mother and how she treats her children, her party, Connor the hero who changes his personality all of a sudden, how he lets Mia perceive him have passionate sex with her mother, how he seduces her and finally Mia herself as the stereotypical brat searching for a perspective in dancing, etc.

I am not sure how old you are or what your background is, but in 30 years time films about this 'yadda yadda' would be a fairly accurate representation of the majority of the youth of today. No one said it's sophisciated, but in my opinion it's not far off from an accurate portrayal of the lives of the some of the youths today.

The camera,lighting,sounds( i don't know how these departments are called sorry :) ) are amazing, just the way he wants to emphasize some things he gives them without a word, a bit of a light and it makes u use ur own senses as well.
