I saw him many, many times as a kid and he was by far my favorite and I was so sad when he died. To be in the presence of something so powerful I will never forget.
He was a saltwater croc, not an "australian" croc, he was actually considered quite tame, AND theres no way to keep a croc feeling full, they are oppurtunistic feeders and will simply throw up if they cant eat anymore.
saw this beaut in person and he was awesome. the whole place was awesome. i don't like snakes and reptiles, but there is something to be said about being in the presence of something that possesses the power to take life in a matter of moments. impressive. and the albino gators where just as much.
Gomek was caught in 1968 by Geoge Craig. He lived in apen in Daru. Then he was moved to Geen ISLAND. Then moved to ocala florida by Arthur Jones. Then lived the rest of his life in St. Augustine.
@jeffers1975 Ah, man, Gomek lived a long life (I have heard some say he was nearing his 'century' when he passed away) & he's been well fed & sheltered for most of it...why not die of heart disease while in retirement?
Wow, didn't know Tom Wills was doing news back that far in Jacksonville FL, wow he looks really young. Now he's old and bald lol

@xismxist St. Augustine Alligator Farm & Zoological Park says "nearly 2,000". The REAL point would be, who cares?
