To learn from @hnsmusic you have to be more of a advance player. He lost me in this video. Out of all the videos i studied this is the only one i cant keep up with. But it sounds great (sounds very jazzy).
@donravis19 What is important in learning to play from someone is to get the basics of what they are saying. There's no way you can sound just like someone like him as a beginner. You just won't be able to get the feel and flow of a veteran. What you can get is the basic chord structure of the song. He's also throwing in a few veteran tricks, so get what you can. We are all learning from each other.
This is a pretty jazzed up version HNSMusic, but I'd like to learn this version of it too. Playing in a different key throws me off too a bit. I've been playing for years but never really learned songs in every key as I should. Good stuff
Your download for this video isn't working. I can't copy and save as... from the link. Also, when I click the link this weird page comes up that slows down my browser like crazy.
i swear this is wayyyy more difficult than classical and i've been playing classical for 14 years....and im doing rachmaninoff..and i'd choose him over this any day lol..
i like how jazz chords are incorporated into gospel..
Another thing is I taught myself and I play by ear. Coming up I was not exposed to much if any musicians like most keys players so imho puts me behind the learning curve with all the variations theory lingo. I've been trying to pick up different musical styles to help but like I said, it NEVER sounds like this. Idk.... What can I do?
To be quite honest this video is discouraging to me. Despite what alot of people tell me, I don't consider myself to be a great keys player, it's mainly the anointing. Anyway it's all this tri-tone/di-tone/modulation technique that discouraging because it makes one's skills look/sound inferior. Other keyboardist always ask me do I know my tri-tones and in shame I say no, and then it's like "ooohh". I always try to make my chords sound as good as possible but they never sound like this.
I kinda feel like I lost my faith here lately, but fred hammond has always been my favorite! His music always seems to encourage me to at least try! Anyways, you definitely have a great sense of music and you did an excellent job on not only playing but illustrating!! I do have a question though: I am debating between the motif and fantom, and I watched the guitar center episode - Which one would you choose based on sound quality?! Thanks
The 9 --- it's your 2nd ... the note a whole tone after the name of your chord
The 11th --- same note as your suspended 4th
The 13th -- same note as the relative minor (or the 6th chord)
People usually get confused because when those notes are called 9s, 11s or 13s they're usually further away from the base note than the 2, 4 and 6 .. but they are the same note in essence.
This is sick!!! Thanks for the lessons, I love the voicings you use. Especially when you do the left hand chording which is something I'm still working on for when I play the organ. Keep it up, God Bless!
Can you do a video explaining the "quick" ways to find your 9's 11's & 13's?? I can find everything up to 9 pretty easily. Once I get past that, it gets confusing.
I added this lesson to my Favorites!! You are the most exceptional teacher on YouTube and beat the others pretty much hands down. Gosh, thank you so very much! What a beautiful song, and one that I didn't know before!

This means their Jesus was 1 to 4% sub-human, we are Black people, Modern Man!
Stop worshipping sub-humans and study your ancient Egyptian history and find out who you really are.
