@jamie1051 You might have downloaded a bad build, follow the link in the description for which OS you're using and download the latest build, I am successfully using build 56447 on Windows 7 64-bit with no problems.

If you keep getting this problem, you might want to consider going to Google Chrome, which is tested for stability. Also, you might want to report it on Chromium bugs (just google it, first result) and you might be able to help the devs fix it (if they've not fixed it already)
