  • dude can ball for pitching in a polo.

  • @ceestego20fo7 probably because you are splitting your fingers too much. I had the same problem because i was splittin my fingers too much

  • it really helped alot when he threw it.......?

  • @AnthonyxAmaze Like you could do better a splitter is a pitch you hardly want in the zone.

  • how come when i throw the splitter it looks and moves like a knuckle ball?

  • @ceestego20fo7 Possible your fingers a little to wide or hands aren't big enough. Another note if it looks almost like knuckle ball but has a slow downward spin and its tumbling, you're throwing a forkball :)

  • Bullshit its the same exact thing as fork ball even watch his vid on the fork he gives the same exact description and grip

  • I like baseball

  • @SwitchSkating me 2! :DDD

  • @notkylethomastaylor ... ya whatever. look at Dan Haren.

  • @AnthonyxAmaze It hit with in the batting area it counts as a strike.

  • It's suppose to be a ball, it's a trick pitch...

  • i actually think he was teaching us how to thorw a ball

  • what's the difference between the spitter and the forkball?

  • It would help to understand that this is NOT a forkball. A Forkball is something in the breaking ball family, closely related to a knuckle. The ball behaves similarly only it usually bites down HARD at the end, something not all Knuckle balls will do.

A forkball grip is your fingers on the very outside, widest part of the ball. It's similar to this grip, only spread out more. That's what helps the ball slip out. The Fork will tumble and behave like a Knuckle. The Splitter is a fastball.

  • he said the exact same thing about the forkball

  • u just taught me how to throw a cut fastball and now a splitter

  • you make way too many videos...

  • @uncletido99 its a whole community..not just one person

  • @fresh2death490 Splitter and Forkball are the same pitch. They just have different names.

  • Just call it a splitter

  • which ones right. the forkball or this fricken one.

  • It's a fastball, but you just split your fingers.

    -presses the back button.-

  • that was absolutely awful...

  • was that a splitter? or was that bad aiming?

  • its the same as a forkball

  • Ball 4. Take your base!

  • @KevinWallace7 It diosen't work?

  • @masterlegend10 idk i just said it cause he threw a ball, lol

  • BOOOOOOOOOCK ! He moved his foot twice in the stretch ;D

  • isnt that tha same thing he said 4 tha forkball

  • @Fresh2death490 Yeah it its.

  • @Fresh2death490

no he said the forkball tumbles the whole way but for the splitter it just tumbles later

    thats the only difference

  • @Fresh2death490 same thing with almost everythang else

  • @Fresh2death490 even though the grip is the same... the wrist part is different. for a forkball, you let the ball "float" out your wrist. You don't flick your wrist down to get a normal forward spin, it's a backwards spin on a forkball. With this splitter, you flick your wrist down so it creates a normal forward spin.

  • @TheUNofficialNHL No, it has backspin.

Hardly any pitches have "forward spin" like you mention. Only a hard sinker or maybe a variation of a curve. All balls that are thrown with a normal throwing motion spin BACKwards, because they come off of your index and middle finger last...which means you are putting a downward spin on the back of the ball, making it spin backwards.

This pitch "tumbles" because it doesn't spin with the speed of a fastball, which is what causes the ball to stay level.

  • @ajlepisto

research the Magnus Effect and see if you still think this pitch sinks because it is backspun.

  • @rsab2003 The Magnus Effect doesn't have anything to do with what direction a ball spins. The Magnus Effect only says what happens when the ball DOES spin.

Just because it has backspin doesn't mean that the Magnus Effect doesn't work. The Splitter does not spin forwards. The Forkball, can, and often does.

The Splitter is a SPLIT FINGER FASTBALL meaning it's thrown like a fastball with a split finger grip, but you throw it like a fastball. The grip reduces the amount of backspin on the ball.

  • @rsab2003 It's simple. Go try to throw a forkball (careful of your forearm) Then throw a splitter. Which has more velocity? The Splitter, because you have more fingers on the ball whereas the forkball just slips out. The Splitter grip doesn't allow the ball to slip out, so it's IMPOSSIBLE for a splitter to spin "forwards." Only a pitch that is pushed or slips from your hands can have this, unless you turn your wrist and apply spin on a different axis like a curve.

  • @Fresh2death490 its the same pitch diffrent grip

  • my name ladies man, i go on youtube and talk shit to people de de de de de. and that really does look like a forkball

  • @Ladiesman695720 I go on youtube to talk shit. de de de de de

  • @beallhigh26 your an mlb player? That awesome!!

  • Ah, it has an off-spinner's grip in cricket, but no finger movement.

  • Thumbs up if you think this guys sucks at pitching.

  • @dchuckles2k I dare you to have a contest with him to see who can pitch better all around if you think he sucks. You can't say shit till you beat him without being some punkass talking smack about a professional athlete who's better than you and 98% of the people watching this trying to learn are.

  • Hey all of you shut up I want see how to guys pitch and if you need no video so why are watching he messed up so I pitch in the minors an pitch like that and I have 1.21 era and 4.24 avg. So I bet I could whoop all your ass,s

  • @mariogamelover1714 fu.ck you

  • @mariogamelover1714 Lmao. i dont dought your avg. or anything but half these people are probable kids playing AA or AAA trying to learn how to strike people out. so your really just challenging kids trying to learn how to pitch like a major league pitcher. and if you know how to do it why are you watching it? fail troll. I could Probably hit anything you threw at me and i havn't picked up a bat in 4yrs.

  • @swanmix10 yep...lmao

  • that's a forkball, epic fail

  • @RaptoRsAreTecMo Nice try but shut the hell up with this epic fail bullshit this is a splitter not a forball there is a difference which you obviously dont know because you go around just looking to put gay ass epic fail on any video you can

  • basicly a "FORKBALL"

  • dude u cant fucking tell if it moves

  • @Ladiesman695720 if that were the case, you would be a professional player. obviously you're not.

  • @Ladiesman695720 you are obviously stupid

  • @beallhigh26 your a dumbass think before you say lies you retrd go back to sucking a ddick

  • @Ladiesman695720 ok Mr. i'm hitting .569 in pro baseball.

  • @beallhigh26 how are you in pro baseball if john rocker ritered retard

  • @Ladiesman695720 you are so fucking stupid, your grammar sucks, which is why i told you to learn how to speak English. John Rocker made shirt that said "SPEAK ENGLISH". jesus christ, you're fucking stupid.

  • My pitches are four seam splitter slider and change up

  • my splitter has a bunch of drop to it

  • nah that was just a pussy fastball. an actual splitter is when u get ur fingers all the way around it in the release and put topspin on it

  • the "strike zone" is behind home plate in reality the striek zone is righti at the margin of the plate in front of it it was a strike but retard shitheads who are atching the back screen pretend they know what they are talking about....

  • ball

  • he has horrible mechanics...

  • @aquazor1 no he doesn't.....

  • @deltapunk21 umm did u look at his front side? its not doing shit, its just chillin there

  • when u post a video of those no hitters ill listen to u macho

  • ive thrown 5 no hitters using this pitch for 3rd strikes

  • @iamthemachoman12 and lebron james lives in my basement.

  • @iamthemachoman12 Yeah, I bet you play in the bottom of single-A baseaball. I pitch triple-A, and I, nor any of the other pitchers, can throw more than one no hitter. If you have thrown five no hitters, the batters were absolutely horrible.

  • @iamthemachoman12 Im gonna guess You are 9 years old because to throw 5 no hitters with only one payoff pitch is almost impossible.

  • this helped me so much i threw my first perfect game using pitches off of here

  • that helps

  • i got a nasty splitter.

  • can anybody help me? i don't know what i'm doing wrong when i throw the split. my friend throws one and it's nasty. it either breaks straight down or down and in on a lefty. i threw one perfectly once and it was filthy. it broke down and in on a righty, but i can't make it do it again

  • @shadowhawk72 Just practice get a video camera record yourself and when you get it right look at the recordings in slow parts then when you reach your release try to copy that then work on repeating the every time.

  • @shadowhawk72. to get a little more break on it, try alligator arming the throw just slightly. my coach told me that it slows it down, but increases break.

  • @sgatebobbyb42 what do you mean alligator arming it?

  • @shadowhawk72. like tuck your elbow closer to your side

  • @sgatebobbyb42 i'll try that

  • ummm ball four or what?

  • Its like everyone of these videos have a guy that explains how to throw and stutters on every word being said.

  • it is the same thing as a forkball, and this guy's didnt even move. also, stop stu-stu-stu-stuttering

  • i like the videos but he should put the camera behind the mound so u can see the movement of the pitch better

  • look up paul reddick his pitching info is good hes a professional

  • Well a splitter is a tumbling ball and well I fist started throwing this and my ball had a huge slide in it and now it doesn't?

  • If the split-finger has a huge slide in it then its called a fork ball... its one of my favorite pitches.

  • it was a ball

  • isnt it the same thing as a forker?

  • dude this is basically what he said during the forkball vid, he suck

  • And what´s the difference between a splitter and a Fork???? I mean you grab it pretty much like a fork.....

  • the difference of a fork and a split is that a fork ball is a ball with no spin, basically a faster knuckleball. Splitter is a fastball with a diving movement.

  • ty i was wondering tht

  • A split finger fastball is a fastball and you got a split finger grip. Jesus, that's genius.

  • Thank u for the vid

  • red sox succc!! yankees are the rulers of sportsss, ask ur family, they probly fanz too

  • is there anyway to download these vids? cuz i want to use em at practice....

  • Download a program called VDownloader, it's pretty simple and useful.

  • That was a real good splitter. It moved away from the righty while also dropiin down low enough for a ground ball or a K.

  • im a sox fan and you intentaly throw at us so youk isnt taking any shit from you

  • Bill Hohn, made us lose a a game in your stadium with BS calls.

  • Cool. Now go teach that girly sissy in boston how to throw a helmet. Go tigers.

  • haha redsox suk

  • thats a forkball with a splitter u have ur fingers lower on the ball

  • Comment removed

  • a split finger fastball.. uhmm.. the way to throw a uhm split finger fastball..this is how to throw a split finger fastball..now uhm when uhm you throw a split finger fastball.. and that uhm is how you throw a split finger fastball. Jesus christ he doesnt know how to talk

  • i think thats a fork ball

  • he forgot to mention that your supposed to throw it high.

  • a spiltter is not supposed to hit the strikezone

  • im every vid i've watched from this guy i never seen him hit the strike-zone

  • haha ageree

  • i wonder how many times he says split finger fastball

  • yeah seriously

  • LEARN HOW TO TALK!!!!!!

  • this is the exact same as the forball, he explaines it the same way, hold it the same way, and says to throw it the same, i doubt he's a professinial

  • forkball you dont throw as hard as the splitter

  • i throw this. its pretty sick

  • This is the same as his forkball video

  • wow that was the coolest NOT that sucks ass u retard it didnt even move u ass go fix ur self

  • BALL FOUR tkae your base!

  • agreed

  • @iamabeast33 nice name buddy. imabeast

  • my splitter doesn't spin at all and looks like a knuckleball.. is it supposed to do that?

  • @d4b34n3r No

  • @d4b34n3r well its supposed to look like a bad knuckleball so spin a bit more but as long as ur not pushing it then its a splitty

  • @d4b34n3r No, its not. You want spin on a splitter. But if you can get the no spin down, learn a knuckle ball. Those are baseballs hardest pitch to hit. But they are incredibly hard to control, because it just floats, so you actually never know where and how much it will break.

  • @d4b34n3r no retard

  • @iamabeast33 its take not tkae

  • i think this is the easiest pitch to learn from expert village but i knew it since i was 9 (been playing since i was 7 and i just turned 20) and it makes it seem so easy.

  • how do u know

  • 1:10

  • once again didnt break...god

  • shut up he is a professional

  • nice i wanna know how to throw that pitch with a wiffle ball

  • thank you. i have been wondering how to throw a splitter

  • my fastest pitch

  • Is the aneorexic girl hot?

  • nice, i was wondering the same thing, could be paris hilton

  • or lindsay lohan

  • so a splitter spins backwards like a curve rather than like a fastball right?

  • No, actually a fastball has backspin, and a curveball has forwardspin (or topspin). Essentially all a splitter is is a fastball with looser spin (so it still spins backwards) because you're choking it with your splitfinger grip so it sinks through the zone, not breaks like a curveball does.

  • it's like a sinker and a fast ball combined!

  • I am a beast at this pitch...

  • ok sure. i know your lying. this stuff never really happens

  • for some reason when i throw this it looks like a knuckleball not a fastball why is that

  • yea same, but only once in a while. i think that might actually be good.

    4.LOOK AT YOUR BACKGROUD,FREAKY!

  • stop with this stupid comment already >:O

  • so its a forkball? according to ur other vid its the same exact thing

  • No its not. A fork ball you hold it with your fingers even wider and the ball deeper. Same effects but with more dramatic break so its a bit harder to throw

  • o he sucks, huh? o yea... thats why he played in the MLB... of course! it all makes sense!
