  • Wonderful song!!!!

  • Too Much Noise Reduction ...otherwise a Great post !!!

  • Great!!

  • To dzheger and others:

I was born in 1937. In those years prior, during, and after WWII, many Jewish people took names that were not so obviously Jewish. Simon is one of those obvious ones.

Before the war many people in Europe saw the direction of the Nazi plans; here at home some public sentiment was against the Jews - some people were more outspoken that others, so many people changed their names out of concern or fear.

I remember hearing that from my grandparents and others.

  • bravo!!

  • Lovely perky tune with most amusing lyrics. Who changes his name from Simon to Lyman???

  • It is the first time that I hear a song of Abe Lyman so "Hot". Thank you!

  • A big part of why it's so "hot" is Abe's terrific drumming

  • Beautifully preserved music excellent explanation and I loved the lyrics....very Zen.
