  • Obviously some reflection of some sort.

  • has anyone ever been down there to see what it is? like investigate the area??

  • Considering these lights moved WITH the lens, and it is obvious that the camera is attached to a set of night vision goggles (they stuck a camera up to the lens of the goggles, it is quite obvious that this was a lens artifact. It was blue, the night vision goggles aren't capable of making blue light. There's no mystery here.

  • @xnanstarx with the lens, really, your so full of shit, they do NOT move with the cam period stop trying to dumb it down fella, the sceintests that made the camera technoligy was stumped, Im sure he looked to see if it was the camera shaking plus its obvious its not period, epic fail doctor know it all!!!!!!!!!

  • "were you recording?"

    "YES!" hahaha* :D

    "sweet"

  • Think that's strange? Check out this phenomenon.

    /watch?v=NPGUIpv-JxI

  • So what wavelength would that light have needed to be to show up blue in the night vision?

  • The lights are very real the question is what are they? The best answer i have heard is that because the mountain sits on a fault-line and the mountain has a lot of crystal in it and when they rub together light occurs in the air. This happens before earthquakes, but nothing ever looks like this. I don't think its reflection because Cherokee indians have talked about this for hundreds of years before the USA and cars were invented

  • did You have a power-poiner with you? iT SEEMED SO!

  • Know that this reminds me of? Hiding in the dark in Splinter Cell and listening to the funny guard convos XD

On topic though, about the lights...I dunno what they could be, honestly. Everyone reports seeing them so its likely not just a camera reflection...

  • It's possible that it is reflection on lens from behind.

But another theory is extraordinary. I think that ufo's actualy can hack into devices and mind.

  • these lights are real.my father seen them and many other people here in caldwell county have also.

  • Keep clicking 1:55 every second or two (in 1:57) and 45º South-West you can see a light (or two) glow and then go out. They are located on the ridge that is just under the BML on the side closest to camera. UFO activity, maybe campers, maybe whatever, but they are different than the night vision "static" because they are stationary while the camera moves.

  • Ive seen these lights with my own eyes about ten years ago. they have benches set up on the adjacent mountain to sit and watch. my brothers mother and friends entire family saw the same thing

  • Is that Ashville?

    sad about the light polution.

Need to reflect those street lights down

  • @macpduff its in burke county, about 45mins from. I live in Morganton

  • Night vision goggles. $399.99

    Dragon Laser. $199.99

Set of walkie talkies. $ 39.99

Being corporately paid to spread disinformation. Priceless.

  • it's night vision. it can't possibly be blue. it is fake.

  • I see you don't know about cameras at all. Camera can capture infrared & basic color spectrum at the same time.

  • this one is fake its a reflection, i believe with Mt. Brown stuffs but this one is tottaly fake, you can see the reflection 0:14 and it was came up with red light 0:16..

  • @hbowdine no its not fake you idiot my friend have house in village and there is not road close and that light are happening at night and on the field and they walk that is not car thats spirit of dead man

  • FAKE! at 17 sec the red ight from the camera is clearly seen and the "jumping" light is reflection of the town lights off the lens. DUMBASSES!

i've been to hawks point and brown mt many times, the lights NEVER JUMP!

seems the "psychics" were trying to create a little paranormal sleight of hand

  • On the same special on NGC was the more impressive observation on Hessdalen Valley, Norway. You can see those also on youtube..

  • @EBase79 cool thanks

  • Saw this item yesterday on NGC. This footage was made while some physics were watching the area from three observations points. This is from point 2. Point 3 had equipment that measured heat, point 2 had night vision and point 1 had normal vision.Strangely the heat measure was below 15 degrees from the surroundings. The footage was investigated by Princeton Light and vision study with complicated test and equipment: green light=plausible heat on ground.Blue=unrecognized.red=plausible dot from cam

  • Also: whatever the heck these lights are, they predate lasers. And they're "real", whatever that means. Very rugged territory.

  • NC born/raised. Circa '72, my dad got the idea to drive up some logging road on Brown Mountain w/ whole family & another couple in Ford van which seated about 10 people. We drove up up up in pitch dark; road narrowed; seemed like 2 hrs. Dad steered with a knob that screwed onto the steering wheel (you could buy these). Finally we hit a ditch across the road. The knob broke off in his hand and hit the windshield, cracked it, hurt his hand. His friend drove back down; only seemed to take 20 min.

  • what is the name of this program in natgeo?

  • @rbenjy21 Paranatural.

  • @wojtuniakfrog thanks man

  • @rbenjy21 no problem

  • its a reflection from the window! :D

  • actually blue lasers are now cheaper then green lasers.

  • Why don't someone get down there to see what is causing that clump of white lights in the trees ?

  • If Im thinking right this is the Micah hanks film, this guy Micah is not a fake.

  • I was there last night

  • A night vision tube cannot produce those colors; the phosphors just cannot produce those wavelengths. Sorry, I think those are artifacts of some sort, not the real thing.

  • The lights are reflected from the inner Earth through huge caves system, then it scattered to smaller caves in the upper surface Earth. The Inner Earth is the domain of the alien Aryan race- Giants measuring 12 feet to 20 feet. It's the place where the Nazis & Hitler escape through opening at North pole causing Aurora Borealis coz of illumination from a small SUN in the center of Earth.

  • @paminaw LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!

  • @arnoldskit Those are fake! Google search The Hollow Earth and decide it to yourself.

  • @paminaw no man, they are not. Lived in NC, seen them. They might be some freak of nature like radiation or something but they've been around for thousands of years.

  • @paminaw I will say the blue light is questionable and possibly fake. I'm in the army and i've operated nightvision many times and i've never seen any contrast other than green while using them but the stationary lights sitting in the ridge are real.

  • @paminaw

Dude what the fuck are you smoking, you better quit with it..

  • @l4dfan6 all is forgiven ... things happen!

  • It seems like a flashlight

  • @l4dfan6 So do I ... and I stand by the location. Even if you are a bit short in manners

  • First of all it's not Brown Mtn ... it's the Spence Ridge trail between Table Rock and Hawksbill ... it's a heavily traveled trail and at least a half dozen heavily used campsite. Geesh guys ...

  • it's plazma

  • we have something simelar in Hessdalen Norway

  • My guess is that this is plasma of some sort, or something similar to ball lightning. Seems to happen a lot at this place for some reason.

  • Approximately when was this video taken? Around what time of the year that this light came out?

  • I saw this program so good..looks like there is a portal sorry english is not my frist leaguaje

  • maby squerls have discovered fire lol... maby!

  • Hell yeah, I live 20 miles away, it's the real deal! You can see it for yourself!

  • You people are not using your brain:

    1) Lasers are intense cohesive beams of light. Had this been a laser, you would have seen the actual beam on camera.

    2) Night vision does not display colors like blue or red. The blue and red anomaly was probably of another unknown wavelength

    3) Laser beams do not turn into gigantic spotlights over distance. The mystery lights you see here are enormous, wide enough to illuminate several trees. The ridge itself was several hundred meters long.

  • Oh my god u retard it's fucking reflection.

  • @keano6t9 No it's NOT a reflection. This was already debunked and well researched and that was ruled out. The lights were most likely plasma or earth lights, caused by the tremendous tectonic pressure in the rocks.

  • @jamespohh Agreed, some sort of piezoelectric effect in the crystalline rock, from seismic pressure... Brown Mountain and the mountains around it rest upon a series of smallish faults. Certainly one can do small scale demonstrations of piezoelectric effect in a lab or at home and demonstrate the production of light from quartz crystals under pressure... This is just a MUCH larger scale light.

  • @AnaphylacticSpock There you go

  • it was laser reflection, hence that red light and blue afterglow near the blue object

  • Comment removed

  • bred kon4enii !!! dalbaiobi !!! po kameri svetit !!!!

  • Thats a laser as clear as day! It shows up and moves just like a laser. Easy people!

  • @realworldparticipant Eh not so easy. If you bothered to look, the bluish light was wide enough to light several enormous trees at once. Lasers do not show up as blue on night vision and they certainly are not wide like an enormous spotlight.

  • We were there last night and I'm telling you - this is real.

  • @lowphoenix No you do not have to hike. Go to Wiseman's View in Burke Co. It's right outside of Avery Co. You will have a parking spot and it's asphalt or rock walk to get there. It's the best vantage point.

  • I am feeling fakeness

  • I saw the Brown Mountain Lights in 1988..ans this doesn't even come close to what they are.

  • @watchtowermaya20 Agreed! I live in Tennessee and traveled to North Carolina on many occasions to see these lights and what we saw in this video is...Well to be nice not them or even remotely similar. The Brown Mountain lights are real and there is no scientific explanation...

  • its not fake. night vission camera's can ONLY show green and black light.

its not a reflection. see above reason.

the millitary IS/hasbeen involved, UK goverment has been investigating it for years.

the simple truth is, its some sort of energy that produces a form of light that we cannot test for, a surjestion might be its a Gamma ray, or form of Xray. or possably something new.

no one knows, they have been tracked Legitimatly, going over mach 10.

    they produce radar signitures too.

    very exiting!

  • Is this a joke? Those "lights" are quite clearly two small winged insects, most likely beetles that are about 5 or 6 feet in front of the camera. It's so painfully obvious that it makes my head hurt.

  • @skadar -- I'm totally a skeptical person, but my grandmother grew up around Brown Mountain and she claims to have witnessed this phenomenon on many occasions. My grandmother is also the skeptical type so I am inclined to believe her. Take that for what it's worth...

  • you can't see blue lights with a night vision device, the only color is green!!!

  • @barbalote2 Why is there a red light for a second? Seems like a light might be reflecting on the internal lense??

  • I would have the military involved in solving this mystery. I would have the entire force surround the area. Then when the lights are spotted i'll send in gunships fast and slow enough to pursue the lights, loaded with investigation teams to drop down and discover the source of the lights. This is just one of my premonitions. Don't think it's a crazy idea. I 'm just getting serious about discovering what it is.

  • i went there today... its called wismans lookout on brown mountain. I didnt belive this stuff was real.. but i seen it with my own two eyes.. Huge red , blue , and white orbs .. if you think it is a reflection, i urge you to go see for yourself. It is truly AMAZING!

  • @amber37650

I'm heading down to that area in a couple of weeks to visit family. Do you have to hike any to get to the lookout?

  • reflections...

  • headlamp reflection. red camera light reflection, then another headlamp reflection.

  • @gratefulvideo i seen them and didnt have a camera,,explain that?

  • @scarsxguitars The steady glow is real. The other lights at the beginning are reflections. I live in NC and have seen the real lights also.

  • I live not far from there! Ive only seen them once though

  • demonic activity

  • "There is absoluty NOTHING FAKE ABOUT THESE LIGHTS. i HAVE SEEN THEM AND THEY HAVE BEEN SEEN BY THE INDIANS BEFORE WHITE MEN ARRIVED!!

  • "These lights are more prevalant common than you think you can see them on most clear nights all year

  • This video was on tv today

  • Shut. Up. Video. Man. They'll. Hear. You. Fool.

  • "The last time I was up at Brown Mountain , I was camping down at Bear den. I drove up wisemans view to the top. We saw white lights about 1000 feet above the mountain. they drifted over the gorge then returned back above the mountain then winked out. This was truly AMAZING unbelievable

  • This is fake. There is a red light and its impossible to see color different than green and bright green and black. It is reflection from the lens of the infrared viewer. Someone lit a flashlight or laser pointer behind the camera.

  • @PhilipIvanov do u live in nc have u ever been to Brown Mountain i have and saw them they are real

  • @PhilipIvanov There not fake. Seen em 2 nights ago.

  • Come on guys. It's plasma most likely. It was just in weird or what. It's pretty cool, but not a reflection, or fake.

  • Great catch guys!!

  • awesome footage but hell I would have to walk down there to get a closer look. I do really think it's some old mountain man with a flair gun.

  • i remember sayin what the hell is that alot up there

  • Lerotjackson27? My only guess is Pearl!

  • there is alotof light i cant explain in this video so what?

  • Awesome footage we have now seen color through our goggles but only at Brown Mountain!

  • I have seen the lights at Brown Mountain on several occasions, different decades, not all being witnessed directly on top of Brown Mountain, but in the near vicinity of the Linville Gorge Wilderness. The other sightings were less spectacular, ususally consisting of only one or two lights. If you are one of the fortunate few to witness this incredible event, there's no mistaking you are actually seeing them, because there is nothing else like it on earth to compare.

  • I am a NC rock climber that has extensively explored and climbed in the Linville Gorge Wilderness area dating back to the early 70s. One night, I led a group of campers to Table Rock to witness the astonishing event. The half dozen various sized lights, loosely strung together, glowed bright and pulsated into the colors, red, yellow, orange and white. Fading in and out, danced along the ridge, swaying back and forth, popping up and down, others slowly zig zagged down the front of the mountain.

  • I have seen them many times. I have seen them trickle and fall down the mountain and explode like fireworks. Execpt the ones that did that were bright red. Some nights I have seen them move slowly across the face of the mountain. Sometimes they rotate around each other. Once I could not believe my eyes I saw them explode into a starry image of a man walking like a cave man drawing. Also a a face like a jakolantern. My wife saw the same things that night.

  • @leroyjackson27 Pearl?

  • Are we meant to think this is real UFO footage?

  • continued, Its the twinkles light that have shown up in colour red green blue or the silver white, the innner core of the light anomoly being white and the outer edge showing colour, so ive always wondered how can this happen and ive wonder about for many yrs, maybe your anomoly is different to mine i dont know, but i thought i would share this with you all, im expecting a bashing so feel free.

  • "Night Vision"Ive wondered for many yrs, 10 actually if it was possible for colour to leak some how into the night spectrum and from what ive seen here, not possible. I bought a sony camcorder to use for family snapshots and for yrs before a friend had said his home has got ghosts, all the yrs ive visited ive never come across any activity, so taking the sony cam over and many tapes and yrs later ive captured knocks bangs(some residual and some not) moving orbs and light anomolies( twinkles)

  • On the other hand, it looks a lot like the reflex of a watch and even a fragment of the arm to which it is attached.

  • They also made an entire program about it ? I should have known. I remember when national geographic used to have great documentaries, great pieces where they`d show you real discoveries, not a buch of guys with a pair of cameras moving from one side to another showing you how they do a documentary out of very little material of interest, instead of showing you actual results.

  • Night vision cameras only show black and green, not blue or red, this is beyond the light spectrum that we are aware of.

  • It`s just a reflection, it is so obvious.

  • Not a reflection. You obviously didn't see the full program on National Geographic. They sent the camera to a lab and they had no explanation and were stunned by the fact that color showed up on night vision. They tried to recreate it using the entire light spectrum but couldn't, so they concluded that it must have been caused by a "high energy source".

  • Also, they played it in slow motion, and the blue object is obviously moving above the trees because its blue light reflected off them.

  • Reflection Hmmm!! I dont know maybe though, appears to be a blue beam shining onto the trees then reflected off your lens maybe it had a look around

  • pretty obvious, a reflection at beginning.
