  • Ps I'm a professional guide in mn, Colorado, Utah, Montana, SD and Alaska. I have yet to see one person field dress and skin and process a kill correctly.

  • @choppy193 this video isnt correct?

  • @grlypants ... Seconds

  • i bet people going by are like wtf

  • Gut the kill right away

  • Hey, how soon after the kill do you need to gut it? like minutes or hours?

  • . . . but he does know his craft.

  • some how him doing it on the side of the gutter makes me feel . . . odd?

  • wow...small fuckin deer, 6 month old... also who fuckin cuts the legs off and skins it in the woods...nobody i know, you suck!

  • @skaz915 anyone who actually HUNTS..thats "who" the longer you leave the guts in.. the more chance you run of the meat NOT being good and safely Edible... why dont you actually try and LEARN somethign Before you Run your mouth on a subject that you obviously have ZERO knowlege on?

  • wow...small fuckin deer, 6 month old...

  • @skaz915 6 month old? not hardly.. thats a year and a half old doe at Least.. mostly 2 to 3 years old.. damn.. Learn someting about Deer already

  • i learned to just cut a whole in the stomach then got all of it out not to cut the legs off

  • This is one of those City Deer i keep hearing so much about, these deer actually shoot back :P

  • i'm glad he patched up his broken leg before he cut it off

  • The funny thing about hunting is the animal is treated in a far more humane way then mass produced meats... You should see the way chickens are some times treated... Watch the videos on the chickens kfc uses... Then tell me how you feel about hunting. People who oppose hunting clearly don't have a grasp on the big picture they think were all blood thirsty sickos... And it's actually the opposite

  • Is it right for me to be watching this video while eating potato chips and feel completely normal?

  • Did u shoot the deer in the ghetto?

  • i wanna go hunting:(

  • i am disappointed. I was hoping this video would through the whole process, this guy seems to be really good. DEER its what's for dinner!! beer works too!

  • *Cuts off legs* "OWWWWW" ... lmao!

  • First i thought it was a road kill :P

  • now i need to get the money to go hunting.thanks for the video!

  • Hands up if you just shit bricks when you saw this is being done on the street.

anyway ..... only in America .... I guess ... lolz

    cheerz

  • @davidhopar Are you kidding me? This shit happens all over the world. The fact that it doesn't happen all the time in America is the real oddity.

  • lol i be this video made all the little peta people and he vegetarians and vegans just shit bricks! lol...sorry fellas meat tastes good and is alot better for you than fucking Brussel sprouts (but are good with alittle butter and salt though)

  • mmmmm roasted venison with button mushrooms and Morel mushroom gravy...oh lord that is good!

  • Gotta news flash for some of you Metrosexuals...just because your meat comes in a styrofoam container wrapped in plastic doesn't mean something didn't die. 100 years ago EVERYBODY killed their own meat in America, still a common practice in many parts of the world today. One day the grocery store will be filled with empty shelves & broken glass. As you slowly starve to death, we hunters will still be enjoying our barbecue. Don't pretend you're better just because somebody else kills your meat.

  • @BC9696 I agree completley, I was just having an arguement with my girlfriend about this very same thing...

  • Yea! Fuk that deer!

  • i like how he does it on a street or an alley lol

  • The first thing I do is gut the animal and pull out the organs, then skin it after. But I suppose it's pretty much the same end result not matter what order it's done in.

  • It seems like there is no blood

  • what the hell... what about the rest?

  • thats one sharp ass knife

  • A wood saw doesn't seem like all that of a good idea on bone...doesn't a metal saw have finer teeth that won't fragment the bone at the sawing point?

  • have you tried cutting the hocks off with a knife or do you carry a meat saw with you into the bush?

  • I like it. It's little different than the video I just posted about field dressing, but it gets the job done. Nice work

  • daddontsk8 has a better way check his video out. seems to be much quicker and easier

  • thats some poaching shit

  • @awsomevideomaker911 ur a dumbass if your going to gut a deer you should do it as soon as you kill it so if you made a gut shot it wont ruin any of the meat

  • that's a sharp knife

  • Is that on sidewalk with cars passing by

  • @askthemeatman You definitely have my respect; you made it look easy. Very good vid, thanks.

  • wow thats either a very sharp knife or very fresh deer

  • hes alive dont worry

  • This man cant help that the hunter didnt want to get his nails messed up. This man mentioned the laziness of the hunter,he's just doin it all at once because he is so fast at it.

  • thanks a bunch, really helpful vid.

  • dead a few hours? fuck thats gonna be gross

  • @Pyr0Maniac01 dude your stupid most people that shoot derr and other animals let the meat hang for at least 5 days so go learn some more about butchering before commenting on videos and making your self look like a dumbass

  • @awesomevideomaker911 why do they let it set for five days?

  • thats not very sanitary. you didnt do it right

  • Huh. I've never killed and eaten anything more complicated than a fish, but this makes it look like skinning the animal isn't so bad, at least. Gutting, well... I'll bring a buddy hunting.

  • What's a good name boning knife? I want to buy one that will last and keep an edge, no cheapie. Thanks.

  • What's a good boning knife? I want to buy one that will last and keep an edge, no cheapie. Thanks.

  • is it legal there to do this right on the street? lol

  • Thank you AskTheMeatman!

  • this is some funny shit!!!!

  • nice dont even need a hacksaw though. use a knife

  • i am hungry now

  • Imagine driving by this guy while he cutting off the legs :D

  • @Periwinkleton

i see people doing it all the time. most people where im from hunt though

  • hey every one. i have a question about taxidermy. if i bring the deer to the taxidermist can they do the following for me. shoulder mount, deer hoof gun rack. and can they do anything with the coat for me? thanks for your time.

  • hmmm....on the street? I wonder how many cops would be called if he did this in San Francisco? They probably would call out the SWAT team! LOL

  • good kill

  • you should get the guts out right when you kill your deer or else its stomach will blow up and if you puncture it, it will splat all over the place

  • is this roadkill?

  • scared to get your hands a lil bloody lol !

  • @SnuffGuerrillaXXX i was just asking jeese

  • @SnuffGuerrillaXXX wtf whyd ya say that?

  • just cut the legs off lol

  • SHUT IT!! WIGGER!!

  • Professional butchers will always wear gloves

  • never seen anyone do it like this... i field dress mine in the woods then take it home and hang it skin it and butcher it. you should get the guts out right when you find your deer

  • @DrinknBeerKillnDeer he states that in the first 30 sec.

  • @DrinknBeerKillnDeer technically your right but depending where you are you don't want to attract unwanted attention (hungry animals)

  • Comment removed

  • to avoid swine flu ^^

  • my buddy had this same kind of set up in the back of his shop and he had a lot of traffic, so one time we decided to make a fake body, and hang it on his hooks and act like we were skining someone, the cops got called.. yea all that good stuff... they thought it was funny

  • im with colecraw, i have never seen it done like this. gut it in the woods asap so the gases dont build up, but yes hang it for a few days and then skin it

  • next time that deer tries to slang rocks on that guys corner he'll be dead

  • ROAD KILL

  • I have hunted my whole life and with everyone in my family and I never saw anyone cutt the legs off plus that deer should be gutted hung for a few days then skinned and courtered

  • @colecraw The legs get cut off at the butcher, or else you cut 'em off if you butcher it yourself. But I'm with ya, I'd never think of cutting the legs off when I'm gutting it.

  • exactly way my family does it field dress it and let it hang expecially old rutty buck

  • Bought a gambrel at wally mart for less than 20 bucks due to what I saw here. Best investment I ever made besides the 10 dollar butt out tool. I shot a 275 pound monster this year, and the gambrel made it all manageable.

  • bullrider needs to get off his bull and take some english and grammar classes....hick

  • that is not a field ;P

  • lol on the sidewalk with traffic, wheres the second half???

  • ticks?

  • disease you fool! there are diseases in deer!

  • lot of deer especially in the south have ticks...ticks have lime disease...if you have ever known anyone who has had that youd know that it takes them a LONG time to get over sometimes you dont get over it. Thats the reason for the gloves

  • You wont get lyme in the south, its the north east you gotta worry about!

  • HOO RAHH to bullridin tho man

  • @BullRider422

Funny, your english is like that of a baby. Interesting.

  • @BullRider422

well from the looks of it he might run a business (butcher shop). youd want to wear gloves while messing with other peoples food. now if he was out in the field and wearing gloves that would be a whole nother story

  • @ilikeyoutub07

    go somewhere else liberal pussy

  • Hey burkebryant, you are obviously the uneducated one in this group. Perhaps you should know what you talk about before you flap your jaws. You are suffering from constipation of the brain and diarrhea of the mouth. Go hug a tree and then learn about hunting and licenses and the economy. Yes douchbag, they are all tied together. Read and learn.

  • You don't even deserve a response from me. When you can find the time please go take an English class, we'll continue from there. ;)

  • You think a person has to be from some organization to have an opinion of their own? You can't even come up with anything original in what you write, you have to use some played out, regergetated definition from the 80's to try and get your point across. If anything I feel sorry for your lack of education, understanding, and inability to advance humanly, and spiritually in this life thus far. Good luck with all that. Poor kid.

  • YOUR FROM PETA I BET!

    Peta=(P)eople for the (E)eating of (T)asty (A)nimals.

  • dude, have you ever eaten a burger? everyone that eats meat should be REQUIRED to do this and kill something themselves too.

  • amen... i hit a possom once... i felt bad as i drove away eating burger king.then that little voice in my head went... you fucking hippocrite. So i went and bought my first rifle... been hunting ever since

  • @brock12003 i would do this i would happily kill an animal for food in the past we had to hunt to survive so why not now

  • @brock12003 Yes , yes they should

  • @brock12003 Why?

  • @ultimateinfinite because otherwise you're a hypocrite and totally removed from the real world.

  • @brock12003 mass meat production is the real world you dolt.

  • @ultimateinfinite If you can't do the above be a vegitarian there's nothing wrong with that. Eat whatever you want. If you do eat meat and think this is wrong or gross grow a pair and stop being a hypocrite. Hunting animals that have lived their whole life happily in nature is more natural and better for the animal than what happens in giant meat factories where you get meat for your local McBarf burger.

  • @brock12003 [please fragment]

Yeah but I like the taste of pain and suffering.

  • @ultimateinfinite honestly ive never hunted before in my life, but i plan to someday because what brock said IS true. whenever you eat meat, something had to die for that to happen. if you cant take responsibility for your own dirty laundry, then you should be a vegetarian.

  • @Pacmanghost OK. Do you drive? Have you built a car before? Do you use lights in your house? Something as basic as light, but could you make a light bulb? Are you using a computer? ...And so on. Our society is built on mass production, that includes food. If everyone had to learn to make or perform the everyday tasks that we take for granted then maybe you would like to be plunged back into the dark ages?

  • @Pacmanghost yeah but the gravity of taking somethings life to further your own is a lot greater than that of building a computer or any material goods. im not saying reject all commercial goods, and i dont think things should be hunted for pleasure or anything like that. but your way of thinking is honestly pretty disgusting.

  • @Pacmanghost It's nowhere near as disgusting as trying to impose your morals on other people whether it be hunting or religion etc. Especially when you yourself benefit from that type of animal but refuse to acknowledge how it's gotten. That type of deliberate ignorance is in fact how bad practices of all types stay IN practice. People like you who can't help but give their negative opinions to others when it's not wanted, needed or serves no purpose, are really very small minded rotten sods.

  • @ultimateinfinite mass produced food was once just as alive as the game he's hunting, and growing up completely sheltered from the process of actually obtaining the meat leaves you completely oblivious to the fact that youre still sponsoring the killing of other creatures and leaves you with less respect for the animals who are giving their lives for your own. we treat animals like crops, and thats a lot worse than hunting game thats been given a chance to live its life before you eat it.

  • @burkebryant Tell that to the lions of Africa, to the Bear of Alaska and to the eagles of the Rocky Mountains.

You need to encompass a bit of humility and humbleness. What makes you so elite that you think Humans are anything more than a step on the food chain in this world of many different species...some of which eat harmless plants, others which eat other animals? Where do you think the maneur comes from that goes into the fields of the vegetables you eat?

  • @burkebryant That's right, from the same cattle that are sent off to slaughter for people who like beef. Do you think your house grew out of the ground? How many acres of land and trees were cleared for your house to be where it is? How many animals were displaced so that you may enjoy the comforts of man?

Typical hypocrit who knows nothing of true life and hardships of every species of animal on this planet.

  • @burkebryant

go choke to death on a donkey dick

  • whats with the gloves ya poof

  • Its sooo wooded there how did you hump it all the way into that brush forest!

  • this is exactly backwards.

  • this guy is an idiot. probably found deer dead on side of road.

  • he's not in the field...lol

    must be a urban hunter

  • his neck is red.

  • look at the way he holds the knife

  • pull the skin away from the stomach why not just get a gut hook and why skin it before you gut it

  • Skin before you gut to keep hair and dirt off the inside. When we butcher beefs, we always skin the beef first, then gut it.

  • ok guys were gonna skin the deer..... in a back alley! WTF ?????

  • Hahaha, exactly what I thought after the first 2 seconds.

  • We skin the deer right beside our meat processing plant that is located on a street.

  • skin it then gut it Wtf are you talkin about

  • Obviously the person who killed the deer didn't know anything about skinning or gutting therefore having someone more experienced and like he said, it's cleaner when he hangs it up.

  • I have personally skinned over 3,000 deer. Maybe you have skinned more and know a better way.

  • @askthemeatman Don't mind the troll. Thanks for the vid.

It's hard to learn this stuff on your own!

  • @askthemeatman thanks for the video man this was the only one that i could understand thanks

  • @askthemeatman do you skin other people's deer? do you sell meat?

  • @garyschaumann96 what is your problem? Do you get up set when you see someone eating a steak in public? Its meat. where do you think meat comes from? I bet you think it comes from the super market right. LOL, keep eating the GMO bro. Maybe your boobs will show up.

  • No, i'm sorry but this is not how to "Field Dress" a deer. This video is a very good demostration on how to start "Skinning" a deer if you shoot it and in a relatively short amount of time get it somwhere you can do this, if your in the middle of nowhere, and do not have a method to start skinning in a relatively short time frame, you will want to remove the guts(aka, Field Dress) 1st, so you don't spoil the meat or other wise give some bad flavoring in the proccess of getting the deer skinned

  • your doing this horribly backwards.

  • yes, he is doing this horribly backwards. this is like saying your going to go from Colorado to Texas by going North.

  • no joke man, this is the exact opposite of what one should do. what an idiot

  • thats what im saying.

  • broke the milk thats the worst part of doe i prefer buck

  • so i watched that whole video and he never field dressed the deer. i thought field dressing was just gutting it basically. that's what i've always done...

  • This is just a 5 minute clip from our 55 minute DVD.

  • where's the rest?

  • i dont field dress mine..from the time it's shot to the time its in the cooler is about an hour..too messy and i dont want to lose any natural flavor..of course they are skinned out..and quartered..from the time i start to skin to the moment i close the cooler lids is about 10 minutes..and the meat is Great!

  • gross

  • I field dress in the field and let the critters enjoy the entrails. why drag the extra weight. I cut the legs ant head and stick a stickin their leg bones and drag on a canvas

  • Yes, that is the correct way to do it. We had a customer bring this deer to us immediately after he killed it so we could film this video for hot-to purposes.

  • Skinning before gutting it is something I do to my meat if I have a freezer nearby. With rabbits, Im usually home, so I skin em, then gut em. But miles into the woods, with no freezer, I gut then skin. Skin keeps meat moist and bug free when hanging in the trees. But, this guys near a butcher plant, a relatively cool and clean environment, so it is really no big deal. Keep posting!

  • My hat goes off to you, I'll stick to whataburger hamburgers

  • Comment removed

  • Surely you're joking, Earthperson.

  • AHH yea...

  • Could have been pulled a significant distance out of the woods. I've had deer look like that when I've gotten them to my truck.

As for the method, I prefer gutting them before skinning. Makes it less likely to contaminate the meat. As a matter of fact we rarely even gut them here unless we are unable to debone it quickly.

  • We hang the deer, skin it, cut out the backstrps, take out the shoulders, then the hams, then cut into the body cavity by the hams and take out the inside tenderloin.

  • what the fuck u do it bass akwards...u dont fucking cut the legs of....and u usually gut it first.........and look in the background...u dont treat the carcuss like that....be a true sprorts man.....!

  • You should never break the bones ,it contamanates the meat with bone marrow... " The Wild Taste"..... I have watched people dress deers and have tasted the difference..... " A BIG DIFFERENCE " in Flavor ... nice skinning job though...

  • I think all, I mean all, hunters should know how to dress, butcher, and cook their game. Should be a necessary skill

  • Did you not see the tag on the rear leg

  • did you hit the thing with a car?!?!

  • Did you not even see that there was a tag on the hind leg?

  • What kind of knife is used? Man that thing is sharp! What do you use to sharpen?

  • You can use bolt cutters on the legs.

  • Why didn't you do it at your lease or where ever you shot it?

  • didnt you listen to what he said in the video? it was brought to him by a hunter.

  • cant you get a butcher to do these?
