This is one of the major problems with Republicans. They are willing to lie for the 'greater good'. They now have a mouthpiece with Fox News which uses the same tactics. So whenever you hear a Republican use data, ALWAYS check it out for yourself. 9 times out of 10 it'll be a total lie and 1 out of 10 it will be an accurate figure but out of context.

For what its worth, Sirota does a very good job of exposing what is just another excuse by those looking for any possible way to obstruct forward movement on healthcare legislation. But in focusing on the deficit reduction aspect, Sirota falls into a trap of his own making by ignoring the actual content of what is in reality a proposal that started out weak and was watered down to the point where it became a complete sellout to business.

I still don't think Cenk gets how the media works. Sirota seems to. Remember - the media is a business first, and they've got to sell a product. If they've gotta take the trans fat out of their fried chicken to sell it, and people don't like the taste, they're not going to buy it. The change has to come from the public, and we need to demand more truth in news and not just listen to what we want to hear. Until you hear about Fox's ratings dropping, we're never going to have the media we need.

I have heard Savage hear and there for many years. At his best, I just competely disagree with his views. At his worst, he deserves to be banned from an entire country.

I feel lucky not living in a country that happily spends that much money on - to be polite - not always fighting the good cause, and gets it knickers in a twist over saving money on securing the less fortunate if they get ill.

To an european like me that's beyond absurd. I do agree that the media carries a great deal of responsibility for the current state of affair, and they should be made to pay the prize. Shows like this is helping a lot with that.

I don't get how people believe that the government is throwing money into some bottomless health care pit. This is a great interview because Sirota makes the great comparison of investing in American's health to making an investment in a stock.
