well dang that is insane because mine is definitly way slower than yours is it only goes about 10 or 12 do u know maybe why this is? i havent checked the tranny fluid. do u think that may be the issue?

When this video was taken I had the same motor as you, the 18HP Vanguard. It was just the stock motor.

How do you brake w/ the max? I can't figure it out. I know that there are to joy-sticks, so then how do you brake?

Pull back the left stick to brake the left three tires.

Pull back the right stick to brake the right three tires.

Pull them both back to stop.

I still reckon it'll be worth it ..wont be road legal, have to buy a trailer to move it I suppose. Apparantly Argo do a amphibious trailer that looks like it would fit the tracks and plow in. 8)

Just picked up a 01 max IV. Do you know where I can find the service/parts manual?

I have the operator manual.

Do you know of any aftermarket or mods that can be done to the throttle control because I think it just sucks? Too short and no padding. I may just fabricate a new one myself.

Argoes are awesome. I have seen some that went around 40mph but I think they were hotrodded or had non-stock engines. Can't you get a 6wd one with a kohler engine that will run that? I think they are high$ and used for snow-cats.

No, the red one in this video is a Max II manufactured by Recreatives Industries out of Buffalo, NY. The brown one is a Max IV. Argo is a completely different manufacturer of a 6x6.

It's like anything else, if they haven't been maintained properly they can be a pain. Also, a lot of them have been around for 30 years so compared to a new one they will require maintenance.
