  • I admire this guy for his artistry, but more more than that, for being willing to travel to the end of the earth to perform. Getting to Sydney is hard enough, but then he had to travel the equivalent of the west coast of the USA to the east coast to get to Fremantle, which is probably the most isolated large city in the world. Kudos.

  • I WILL NEVER ACHIEVE THREE MINUTES AND TWENTY SECONDS whyyy is up bow staccato soooo impossible..

  • nice! a woman conductor!!

  • min. 3:21, Stacatto?????

  • @claudioarduz yes

  • @claudioarduz yea, in the international edition it's marked as up-bow stacatto but i rarely see anybody perform it that way unless you're a daredevil haha

  • i watch this everyday and im neva sick of it

  • By watching this video again and again, i learn a lot. It is the best of the best.

  • flawless. what can I say? This recording makes practicing this piece depressing because I know I could never achieve this. I am impressed.

  • wow incredible. I see the heifetz in him

  • Good

  • ahh what i would give to be a pupil of heifetz. great job

  • @SAMICOMAESTRO1.....

  • oh my word :-o

  • amazing

  • WOW! Incredible technique.

  • It's awesome!!! Bravo!

  • Combine" 7 year old keyboard lol.

  • 1:56 thats both intense and epic, the composer of this song is a genius on how to combibne pure skill with tonality.

    5/5

  • Brilliant! Musical AND razor sharp execution!

We should all strive for a staccato like this! Does anyone know what Koelman is up to these days?

  • Sure, he's performing of course, but has a base at Zurcher Hochschule der Kunste, where he's teaching (Great Professor and a nice guy:).

  • Breathtaking and very outstanding performance. All the notes are played very clean. It's amazing!

    Bravo! ^_^

  • bravo

  • For me his playing of 24 Paganini caprices is the best version better than R. Ricci (maybe for me)

  • it's surprisingly fresh - completely original take on all of the caprices. plus, it has virtuosity and and heart until the very last note (he plays all of them in a row in 1 performance).

  • Yes, I completly agree with you. A. Stadler (one of the Genius Russian Violinist) can play all 24 Capricce of Paganin, In the his concerto He was played any capricce witch people want and from originale edition.

  • Amazing!!

  • wow is fantastic!!! He is the same that his teacher!!!

    congratulations!!!

  • you can tell this is one of Heifetz's pupils cuz he takes it ridiculously fast and every note is crystal clear.

  • Im playing this right now. WOW...

  • surgical precision

  • This is world class playing. Simply outstanding, Koelman is one of the best violinists I have ever heard hands down. Heifetz would be proud of the kind of playing he is doing.

  • Absolutely sin-tillating!

He's captured and released bottled lightning- I really enoyed this!

  • iunno, but what the SHIT. this is the SHIT.

omg best iver heard of this. live

  • BEST RECORDING I HAVE EVER FOUND!!!!!

  • Grande Koelman!!!

  • THE BEST PERFORMANCE OF THIS PIECE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know it well and have performed it many times. He captures the essence and WOW what a technique. This is truly the best recording of this piece. I have heard everyone, believe me.

All that can be said, is Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think that most people realise how special and great this violinist truly is. In the USA throwing a football is special. True talent and genius is nothing! What a shame.

  • Großartig! Wo sind die anderen beiden Sätze?

  • @Hasensilvester go to Fremantle Chamber Orchestra website and you can order a CD.

  • Bravo !
