The birds were in no real danger, for people the water would have been deadly but people dont float like birds do, obviously :P Animals know when its time to leave, if they were in danger they would have known better and they would have left. the white stuff is styofoam siding. the buildings there have stucco siding and use styrofoam for decorative relief and insulation. It is floating all over the water as well. Pelicans suffered in the storm. As I was hitchhiking back to Pensacola the roads were covered with them. I don't know about these. I had to film them because my wife in an animal lover.

Thanks for the video. Your video is BY FAR the best I've seen on the internet of just how big the surge was in Mississippi. By filming that off ramp at the start it gave a great perspective and gauge of how far up the water came. For anyone in Mississppi who didn't or couldn't take cover inland or on higher ground, that surge must have been terrifying. I think we were able to see what the Camille surge was like thanks to media,cameras and technology today. All I can say is EPIC.

I live in little old New Zealand we don't get anything like this not even close to it we are very lucky. It is crazy what mother nature can do. my heart goes out to the people that did'nt make it through it the storm. So very sad. GOD BLESS THE DEAD may you rest in peace
Uh, yeah. Where you there? I was in MS. MS got the WORST brunt of that storm. Storm surges of up to 27ft. Other parts of LA got worse winds, and tidal surge than N.O. got. New Orleans' main problems was the levees failing. Whereas there were flooded homes in N.O., there were no homes left to flood in MS. Most within a 2-5 mile radius from the beach were completely destroyed--as you see by this video.
Sorry about your house. I was lucky enough that I lived just far enough away from the water that I didn't get any flooding. I got wind damage though. Had to get a new roof put on, and was without power for a week.
Besides that I wasn't the one who decided to say a snarky thing like "N.O. got hit worse'" on a video of the damage in MS. So you are the one who should have stayed silent.

I have family down there, and have been there many many times, I knew actually where you were the second I saw what you were filming... I remember going down afterward, the Beau was standing tall, but that was about it. It was such a sad sight to see the destruction. Not many realize how badly Biloxi was hit, the focus was on New Orleans. The shot of the ramp at 3:28 is amazing, that thing way off the ground and during the hurricane the water is just below it, thank you for these amazing shots.

@BradfordJL That was the ocean. I believe the Beau Rivage was pushed off its foundations so I am just glad this guy survived to post this. The flood was more like a Tsunami--just a wall of water coming and coming, pushing cars and houses ahead of it.
Its strange but i have always thought Hurricanes were exciting,until I watched this and realised just how destructive they are to people and businesses in their path. Truly devasting footage of a nasty hurricane at its worst.

I live in little old New Zealand we don't get anything like this not even close to it we are very lucky. It is crazy what mother nature can do. my heart goes out to the people that did'nt make it through it the storm. So very sad. GOD BLESS THE DEAD may you rest in peace

Uh, yeah. Where you there? I was in MS. MS got the WORST brunt of that storm. Storm surges of up to 27ft. Other parts of LA got worse winds, and tidal surge than N.O. got. New Orleans' main problems was the levees failing. Whereas there were flooded homes in N.O., there were no homes left to flood in MS. Most within a 2-5 mile radius from the beach were completely destroyed--as you see by this video.

Sorry about your house. I was lucky enough that I lived just far enough away from the water that I didn't get any flooding. I got wind damage though. Had to get a new roof put on, and was without power for a week.

I have family down there, and have been there many many times, I knew actually where you were the second I saw what you were filming... I remember going down afterward, the Beau was standing tall, but that was about it. It was such a sad sight to see the destruction. Not many realize how badly Biloxi was hit, the focus was on New Orleans. The shot of the ramp at 3:28 is amazing, that thing way off the ground and during the hurricane the water is just below it, thank you for these amazing shots.

@BradfordJL That was the ocean. I believe the Beau Rivage was pushed off its foundations so I am just glad this guy survived to post this. The flood was more like a Tsunami--just a wall of water coming and coming, pushing cars and houses ahead of it.
