  • good job, buddy!

  • awesome buck, but I would of taken the 1 on the right!

  • @pigz1star We would have liked the one on the right also, but this was a management hunt and the trophy buck on the right was a little too big. On a piece of managed property like this, they have "cull" hunts to remove the lesser gene pool before the breeding season and that was what we were trying to do and accomplished.

  • shooting animals in a high fence (i dont care how big) over bait, and then shooting it in the "rear area" to put it nicely is not hunting!!! my son shot his first deer at 60 yards offhand and hit dead center (13 yr). we definitely are not big time shooters and dont go to the range but twice a year. im sorry to say this, but whether it be your son or nephew or whatever, they shot off a rest and missed an easy shot. I'm not sure but to my knowledge this child is underage in MI to gun hunt...

  • @MDQ135 Just quit talking, sorry your son is super man. leave the kid alone

  • @mac3747 no hes just average. and i hope you have something worked out with the DNR with some kinda special permit or something for the underage child because im very certain this one is underage and may not use a firearm in this state until next year when the "any age" law takes affect

  • @MDQ135 If you noticed there is also a pile of corn to get the deer in close enough for an ethical shot... and baiting is also illegal in the State. That's another benifit to hunting on a game preserve - the State laws don't apply. The age restriction is rediculas anyway, it should be a parent and the youth theirself who decide how old is old enough and not the government. He was also NOT old enough to hunt in his home State of Pennsylvania either - what a shame. Thanks for watching!

  • @VTHunter4Hunters wrong.. baiting is legal again (against my liking) in the state of Michigan and you never said why the underage child could hunt? Yes i agree to an extent that it should be up the the parents, you must agree though, there are some nut jobs out there. None the less you should follow the laws (game ranch or not) and bring your kid up "hunting" (not this arcade shooting). after all that is the goal of every hunter out there, to pass on hunting to the next generation

  • @MDQ135 I actually did say why this young hunter was able to participate. He is not old enough in either his home State or Michigan, but we were hunting with legendary whitetail God Claud Pollington on a private 6,000 acre ranch here and the State age limit does not apply - thank God someone in Michigan has some sence. Without this opportunity, this young man would not have even been able to participate. I WISH every hunter was passing it on, but they are not.

  • @MDQ135 Another thing I realize is that all of us hunters need to come together and support ALL aspects of the sport in order to save it. If u don't like preserves, baiting, hunting with dogs, treestands, high powered rifles or whatever, then don't use them - but this was very much a hunt and something this young hunter enjoyed greatly. My goal is to save the sport from it's predicted demise - some say within the next decade or two, so take a kid hunting; even on a preserve if u have to.

  • @VTHunter4Hunters I never will believe in baiting or fenced shooting but your entitled to your opinion. nobody here has real facts this is a pure opinion based debate. I believe this young man needs more time behind the gun though and you cant deny that. at least you will agree that not baiting requires more patience, time, and skill and makes the feeling even better when you succeed

  • hey how about not shoot it in the ass. all 15 deer that i have shot i havent missed and all have been perfect heart shots

  • @FishHuntHuskers Geeze, give the kid a break - it was his first deer and I'm sure nerves had a little to do with the missplaced shot. We all try to make perfect shots and if you have never made a bad shot than I would say you haven't hunted long enough. Bottom line, he got his first buck and it was a good one.

  • @VTHunter4Hunters Don't worry about all these negative comments some people just don't have a heart or the respect for beginning hunters. Good job buddy ! we all have our bad shots. main thing is that you got him

  • The fist shot was bad but that second shot was great

  • Nice job. Even better job on that follow up shot. Very well placed.

  • tht not even huntiing it on a fuckin ranch got hunt state land in michigan

  • @810FLINTTOWNKLOWN Thanks for the comment KLOWN, but please watch the language in the future. U are correct, this is a high fence hunt, but 9,000 acres is a pretty big fence! This was also this young mans first deer... I would argue that this is a type of hunting - I get it if you don't like fences; I prefer fair chase also; but I do all sorts of hunting - baiting, tree stands, select preserves, public land, etc - one things for sure; we have to support ALL hunting if we want to save the sport.

  • Nice buck

  • Nice shot was the eight older?

  • they want the kid to shoot the small one so they can go hunt the big one after

  • @fmbhole Not the case at all... this was a management hunt for a cull buck, the big one lived long after we left the property. If we were going to harvest the "big one", we would have shot him right there on the spot. I should also note that we got to see even bigger bucks during our hunting time with the Pollingtons.

  • nice shot

  • awesome

Thank you for uploading kids hunting video

  • i love how you shot the smaller of the two bucks wtf were you thinking?

  • @MNoutdoorsmen - I know crazy right!

  • Hey is this place high fence or no? Just wondering. Also who cares if he uses bait. We all know if baiting was still legal 95% of you would use it, if you still dont already bait. The kid got his first buck and should be happy for the kid!

  • Great comment fellow deer slayer and thanks for watching. Yes, this is high fence, but then again; 9,000 acres is a really big fence! I give away 40-60 hunting adventures every year - most are strictely fair chase, many on public land, but we also hunt a few select preserves or private land. I give away "dream hunts" and places like Claude Pollington's Buck Pole Archery deer ranch is what dreams are made of. Don't forget to log on to my web site for your chance at one of these FREE hunts.

  • oh i see well im glad the kid got a buck

  • nick first buck for the kid but just wondering why didnt he shoot the bigger buck if you dont mind me asking

  • That's a fair question & it's not too many times you want the smaller buck. This was a management or cull hunt and we were trying to remove older bucks with inferior genetics before the breading season. Maybe inferior is the wrong word, Alex's buck was still a good one; but compared to the 10 point (same age deer), you know what I mean. Thanks for watchin'

  • hey 80maxshred be cool man the boy got his first deer i would be glad to take you out hunting if it was your bag but seems you are not into hunting any congrats to the little man all us hunters are proud of you BUD.

  • Baiting deer in MI is against the law.

  • 6,000 Acre PRIVATE preserve owned by the outdoor legend and manufacturer of Onita-Eagle archery equipment, Claude Pollington (he can do what ever he wants in the preserve, including baiting). This massive whitetail mecca needs a supplemental feeding program because of the size of his herd (strictly managed). There is food EVERYWHERE and these deer have a lot of other choices to pick from... just like sitting in a corn field or an apple orchard.

  • baiting is legal in the upper peninsula

  • Baiting is lame

  • To each his own. We used the corn to bring the deer close enough for an ethical shot and to get them to stop moving. First deer nerves will rattle any hunter at any age, but we try to be humane about it. Thanks for watching.

  • wow man nice hunt i like how u film the kids hunting thats really nice and i was wondering in this hunt what kind of gun and ammo did yall use and about how far was the shot?

  • 30-30 Lever action Marlin at about 110 yards.

  • Sorry, Federal 150 Grain, core-lock ammo. This was his first deer! His home State of PA. will not allow youth hunting until 12 years old. It's a shame that the Government decides when he is ready instead of his parents.

  • Blind, bait station, hunting for pussy's. What were they trying to do any way, put that dinky buck in a wheel chair?

  • 4:30 in the morning, top of a mountain, -5 degrees, high wind with 6" of fresh snow...Perfect. Too manly for ya huh?

  • It's the gun that tamed the wild west! (and it has taken many, many whitetails)

  • I had my cousin use a 30-30 on his first deer this year during the youth hunt, put him down real quick, good gun.

  • could that be a 30-30 marlin that took that big boy down

  • Good call - looks like somebody knows their guns! Thanks for watching

  • What a HORRIBLE thing to teach children and I can see why so many hunting accident happening to children. Its nothing kill kill kill with all of you disgusting people.

  • Check your facts-Hunting is one of the safest activities children can enjoy. I can also tell that you have never tried to hunt anything before, because if was all about the "kill, kill, kill" we would have given up a long time ago. Harvesting an animal is the exception, not the expected and just sharing the woods with these majestic animals is awesome. Hunting teaches respect for animals and though hunting an incredible relationship and love is developed for both man kind and our wildlife.

  • whoa!! Im 13 and im not as good as him. That was a great shot! Once that buck fever kicks in I know how hard it is to make a drop shot!

  • After the shot is even worse. Alec was so shaken up that he couldn't even talk, but the entire video also shows Mom & Dad; who were even excited!

  • this kids good ive been deer hunting for about 3 years and ive harvested 2 does and missed a 6 point from about 70 yards w/ a muzzleloader looks like a great hunting spot!!

  • One of the best hunting spots in the Country! Buckpole Archery is owned by outdoor legend and bow manufactured, Claude Pollington (CP Onita Eagle). Enter for your chance to win!

  • Bucks everywhere, I want to hunt where you hunt!
