  • Any flight on Southworst where no one dies is a miracle.

  • @Dexterluckful Wow, someone's a little hateful towards Southwest.

It was an unaccounted error on the pilot's part, not necessarily any fault on the airline.

Actually, not one SINGLE person has died while flying in a Southwest plane, so your complaint is inaccurate. Plus, as a frequent flyer, I've found Southwest to be one of my favorite airlines.

Maybe next time you're flying American Airlines or Frontier, your plane will catch on fire, as this one did, and several others have.

  • @AlyxChosen Only a person on the ground has died in result of Southwest's accidents. Southwest's safety record can't be beaten as none of their flights have had fatalities.

  • @Lugiafan0798 exactly, but I was more worried about "in flight" than "on the ground" lol

  • I'm thinking to much brake pressure and friction.

  • it seems the pilot landed really hard and the landing gear doesn't support the landing and have blowed

  • @dellave11 the landing was okay,, over-breaking is the cause..

  • @afgrocks123 can be, the break was applied to hard and the tire blowed

  • @dellave11 yup, that mostly can be the cause.... they try to land smoothly and float the whole runway,,, then when they notice they are running of.. they step on them..

  • Well done to the crew, passangers were out straight away.

  • i think it was between a hot landing and using to much break to soon.. definite pilot error....remeber that 150,000 pounds trying to stop to fast...

  • i was a passenger, i could smell the stink of death in the cabin as others waited their turn on the slide to safety. women were farting like somthing i have never seen befor.

  • I think the tire fire could of ignited the the wing which has fuel in it. These 737 hold 7000 gal. of fuel so any fire on an aircraft is dangerous.I was a firefighter on that incident.

  • @dalifesaver1 of course you were along with the other 2000 people that claim to be a firefighter their aswell

  • @dalifesaver1 6,875 gal. to be exact ; )

although im no firefighter i do know that for faa regs they have to purposefully heat up the breaks and tires of the aircraft and let them burn as fire fighters watch to see if the aircraft can handle it so i would of thought that it wouldn't be able to catch the wing on fire but then again those 737s almost skim the floor there tires are so close to the wings so maybe...

  • Came down too fast, I guess.

  • that was just a fire in one of its Tire.....not a big Issue.....

  • @Ahsin51 Not a big issue? That fire was 10 feet from the fuel tank.

  • @CF40 well idun agree with you...the body is made in such a way that it resist fire....mostly they are made up of Fiber plastic....very much hard light and resistant to fire.....and in few minutes Fire Fighters were there...they had to be...so if a fire is on tire made of Rubber and carbon its not a Big Issue...hope you had clear yourself now...????

  • Any fire on any aircraft is a 'big issue'!!

  • @GEORGEBUSHISAKUNT yeah it can be if...its on dangerous when its on any sensitive part like Engine etc....but on tire it cant do any thing....because when ever plane lands Fire Engines starts moving with the plan so it takes lesser time to respond....!!!!

  • wow southwest.....what a suprise. Im amazed they can even get their planes to move under their own power without running into something.

  • @beergut111 One of the best safety records of any major domest carrier.

  • @sonex424 hahah.....does that count running off the end of the runway? I know of 3 in the last 5 years

  • @beergut111 If you measure in terms of fatalities they record is significantly better. I terms of accidents it's still better.

  • @beergut111 They're also the only airline that has never layed off any employees, ever. They are also the most profitable. If you want to be safe don't fly an airline that has been losing a lot of money:)

  • @sonex424 its a shitty airline.

  • @beergut111 There are things I don't like about them either. I try not to fly them unless I fly alone. But just because you don't like them doesn't make them unsafe. And they must be doing something right. Their business model works. Something no other domestic carrier can say. BTW they all are shitty when it comes to customer service. They all suck!

  • @sonex424 yes they all suck....but southwest sucks more than others. and they have a piss poor safety culture.

  • @beergut111 Statistics would beg to differ. And they have more business ethics. Their advertising is ethical their business ethics are better (than other airlines) They don't charge for bags. (reason I fly them when traveling on ski trips). Overall I'd give them a C- (compared to other businesses. An A- compared to other airlines. For the way they treat their employees I'd give them a C+ compared to other businesses. An A compared to other airlines.

  • @sonex424 they dont treat them that well....they have a union.

  • @beergut111 All airlines have a pilots and flight attendants union. So, I guess that means NO airline treats their employees well. I have quite a few friends that are pilots and flight attendants. The would beg to differ with your opinion.

  • @sonex424 that is correct.....no airline treats its employees well....otherwise there would be no need for a union. The great work rules a union provides should just be the regulations. its sad that a pilot needs a union at all, but crappy airline management really offers no other choice. it really does suck.

  • @beergut111 That is not necessarily true. There were many companies that before WWII were not unionized. They had to to get government contracts. This is still true. Most flight crews (only people I have contact with) say they'd rather work for SW than any other airline. FOs get 15days/month off. Most however work the FAA maximum of 1000hrs/yr. I would take 49k/yr with 15 days/month off any day of the week. That is starting pay for FOs. I think you missed my point.

  • @beergut111 The work rules are regulations BTW

  • @sonex424 no they arent. the regulations are pretty liberal. The regulations would allow management to fl a pilot 6 days then have 24 hours off then fly 6 days, etc. etc etc......the union instills rules that are tighter than the regulations allow.

  • @beergut111 You cannot fly more than 8hrs in a 24hr period and the maximum is 1000 in a year. half a work week. Read the FARs.

  • @sonex424 yeah, for part 135. southwest dont operate under part 135. read the FAR's. half a work week? you dont understand this discussion.

    ill cya later.

  • @beergut111 !35 is less strict than 121. It;'s 8hrs in 24 for both. Study it.

  • @beergut111 FAR 121.471 :a) No certificate holder conducting domestic operations may schedule any flight crewmember and no flight crewmember may accept an assignment for flight time in scheduled air transportation or in other commercial flying if that crewmember's total flight time in all commercial flying will exceed—

    (1) 1,000 hours in any calendar year;

    (2) 100 hours in any calendar month;

    (3) 30 hours in any 7 consecutive days;

    (4) 8 hours between required rest periods.

  • @sonex424 you didnt read and understand the rest of that regulation. crews are routinely scheduled for 9 or 10 hours of flight time....your homework is to explain how thats possible.

  • @beergut111 I am aware of that if they recieve more rest. However they cannot be schduled for mare than 100hrs/mo and 1000hrs/yr.

  • @beergut111 Let me tell you a little story. My first flying job was for Island airlines in Sandusky. We flew for 6hrs every day. $8/hr. (1982) I was very happy to get it. If you remember the hiring bust of the early 80s. I was very happy to get it and loved every minute of it. Next i flew for a regional. Started at 850/mo. A step down, but again, very happy to be flying. after a few yrs of that I got hired by a major. 19k/yr. Not great, but back then decent money.

  • @sonex424 My 1st exp with a union. Eventually worked up to capt retiring last yr. I never felt the union did anything for me. In my later yrs I gave up salary. I even gave up my pension just so I could keep doing what I loved to do. You see I knew that there was no other job that payed even close to what I was making that I loved. If I was able now I'd happily do it all over again. It was never stressful. There are nurses that work more hrs for less pay.

  • @sonex424 There are truck drivers that work more hrs for less pay. There are many more people that work many more hrs for far less pay than I did. I was always amazed that I got payed what I did an had a ball doing it. People, sometimes need to suck it up and quit bitching and be thankful to do something thay love. Airline pilots as a whole work half what the rest of the work force does and gets paid 4-5 times as much.

  • @beergut111 they have more than 2 pilots on flights that long. A 3rd (or 4th) pilot flies the cruise hours while the captain does the departure and approach.

  • @babytweeze85 yes i know.....ive had an augmented crew everytime i flew to Japan.

  • @beergut111 BTW SOuthwest has the highest starting salary for a pilot at over $49,000/yr And the highest top pilot salary at over $181,000/yr. I'd say thats not bad. I'd take it. You?

  • @sonex424 yeah thats real good.....id thank the union for that for sure.

  • I cant understand why nobody really ran away. I would ran like hell, cause theres like fuel left inside the wings. It could have exploded!

  • what was that asshole doing with his carry on bag?

  • Who are the stupid passengers who slid down the slides with their carry-on luggage?!

  • See, if that would have happened here in Georgia at Hartsfield. The pilot would have just got out of the plane and walk over to the tire and pee on it.

  • This tells you that southwest is bad lol!

  • tyre burst. What is really impressive is that the pilot noticed so quickly - you can't exactly look underneath the aircraft from the cockpit.

  • @neverfearchrisishere Air traffic control could have told them, they monitor every landing, or a sensor could have gone off warning of something, idk, but good evacuation

  • Southwest Airlines...

  • just hit the brakes too hard but not hard enough to pop the tyre, hence the fire

  • im guessing a tire poped and the metal made the sparks witch then lit on fire

  • Comment removed

  • It's not just a brake fire the fuel tanks are right above the wheels get out fast or be bacon on a runway

  • just a brake fire

  • guess what. Ive been looking at some plane crash/ fire videos, and I just got an add for singapore airlines!

  • pretty scary..thx God everybody safe..also amazing how fast the firefighters responde to this fire..vs the fire in china from a 737 where the plane was on fire for more then 5 mimuntes untill the firefighter arrive...we still number one in respond...

  • @elpianistaaltamirano

you nasty american idiots just have to stick in your nationalism at every turn.

distance from fire is what determines response time.

you're grammer tells me you're not even a 'real american'

  • @consrignornt world dominance mother fucker lick my AMERICAN ballsack "bloody doushbag"

  • come on he blew a tire.

  • lol that guy took his bag with him

  • it's just a wheel on fire i guess this is due to friction !

  • In a situation like this do first class passengers get to exit the aircraft before anyone else?

  • This you call a Fire.. Chuck Norris had peed on it xD

  • Good thing everyone got off safe!

  • Lol @ the guy at 0:32. Jumping up and down as he came off the slide

  • LOL @ the slide xD

  • typical southwest they come in hard and arnt very nice to the ground personel working at airports they are always in a rush like this one time i was waiting for a plane to to taxi in to a gate they gave me the ok to pass their path then they flip their lights on and started to come right at me and i was driving a fuel tanker

  • am i sick or is this shit funny as hell?

  • looks like the brakes overheaded.

  • Yeeeahh! They got to use the slides! Banzaii! : )

  • Boy it is a good thing those people all read the instruction card in the seat that told them that the first down the ramp should remain at the bottom and help the others off... Oh wait they didn't...

  • lol i saw someone waving there hands looking scared all cuz of a wheel fire...

  • OMG THE WHEEL GOT ON FIRE RUN!!!!!!

  • 1 am no 40000....do i get a prize?

  • if that plane blew up by the fire igniting the fuel, i highly doubt exiting the plane and standing 2 meters from it would have saved them. Such a poor evacuation.

  • @CricDilan007 it was a perfect evac. it accomplished its goal.... no one died

  • when was this?

  • i hope you has a nice flight on fail airlines

  • i was on that flight

  • Adults in a playground.

  • I think the pilot push the brake too heavy make it too hot and bust fire out.

  • From the brakes

  • How did it catch fire?

  • 1 man was arrested after trying to go back up the slide for a third time and cutting in line

  • woo woo woo woo woowoowoowoowoowoowowoowoowooowooowoowooowooowooowooowoowooowooo 1 after another doown that slide i wish it was a waterslide

  • Is it possible? Some passengers used the emergency exit with their luggage - look the fat man in white shirt - he took a little suitcase!

  • That fireman was really on target i give him 1 out ot 10

  • shame on the people who had bags with them, SW should track them down and ban them for life

  • holy shit thats SWA holy shit holy shit holy shit holy shit this is their first ever mechanical incident on SWA

  • waterland airlines

  • the landing was so hard he blew the tire

  • What Were they like On the Announcements, They dident know the plane was going to be stuborn and do that But what did they say when they noticed A Fire,? Everyone Evaquate , Through The Secret Door or your going to fall off the side? Lol jump down the Slide and Froget Your children because no kids were on that plane, But what if someone Popped the slide with their High heel, Haha Poor People in the plane

  • Wow

  • wow

  • so, if someone fell off the slide, would the airline be liable?

  • i dont think they would let you have two goes on the slide would they? :P

  • wow exit just because the tire went out and caught on fire when you can put that out with a fire extinguisher or it would go out by its self wow! haha

  • Lookat 0:06 is that another of the same plane by the same airline in a ditch??

  • @gamestunts the plane was taxing to the terminal

  • I've always wanted to slide down from an airplane! then ima be on the news and stuff, and ima upload it on facebook and everybdys gunna be like your so kewl! LOL.

  • hahahah, look at that jewish guy

  • Just a tire fire.

  • thats scary as hell man. however ive always wanted to go down the slide, looks SOOO fun! :D

  • I know :) I wouldn't want to have that happen on a flight that I'm on. On the other hand, maybe they could park a plane on the tarmac, inflate the slides and let us have some fun on it for a while :) :)

  • @iloveyousomuchkissxx thats not funny there must be something wrong with you if you think thats funny

  • woo, thats scary.....glad everybody got off safe.

  • Me too!

  • lol big slide

  • Ha ha, yeah :)

  • I saw this on CNN, I wish I got to slide on the ramp .. looked fun ...LOL

  • haha, lol

  • Os it a 737-800?

  • @thechoice33 sorry mate, from my knowledge of southwest, it is probly a 737-700

  • wow that's amazing

  • Thanks :)
