  • And of course for TPIR Johnny began these with "Contestants not appearing on stage will receive.."

  • That was Match Game 78

  • They never did any Consolation Prizes or Ticket Plugs for Match Game PM, correct?

  • 4:15, the audio descended a bit.

  • Johnny Olson's voice is like BUTTER

  • @72Dogger You got that right - it just melts down in just the right way! He was the ULTIMATE in game show announcers, and is sorely missed!

  • Blammo, Golden Grain, and Seven Seas! That just took me back...good times! :-)

  • I miss Dynamints. :(

  • Wow!!! Sad part is, some of this stuff is no longer around! That's BLANKING sad (I'm sorry. I had to go there!)!

Can I find this music anywhere? It's really catchy and would be great on my Ipod!

  • I always liked how on the Goodson Todman shows, they would zoom in and out of the prize slides to "add interest". Shows from the other producers (most notably Chuck Barris) never did that and that bugged me as a kid.

  • @micmac99 You can thank legendary director Marc Breslow for those, as well as the infamous "MG" contestant plugs with the celebrities!

  • seal-a-meal!!!!

  • Half the fun of watching those vintage game shows is seeing the prizes of the era. Unfortunately on the Game Show Network we are rarely allowed to see them because they shrink them down or cut them off altogether so they can promo their crap game shows like Deal or No Deal.

  • @zibbyzubb I wonder if the folks at GSN even HAD any of these prizes lying around their office...

  • Thaaaat's right, cameraman...

focus on those glamorous '70's hotties!

  • You mean the one at 1:57? lol

  • This is great. Johnny O

    voiceovers were the best!

    Love the music too.

    Listen to it very carefully.

Its actually a variation of the main

    Match Game theme music featuring

    the bass

  • Hoover, True Value, Dentyne, American Tourister, Rice a Roni, and Mitsubishi still exist, but what about the others? And does Mitsubishi still make TVs?

  • but the not the last one which was clearly syndicated match game.

  • I think that's from the final episode.

  • what year was that clip that went straight to Gene, I assume it was before 1976

  • That was from Match Game 78

  • really, i guess i was wrong. match game isn't my expertise, lol.

  • thanks a lot!

  • I'm guessing these came from the DVD box set.

  • Yes, they did.

  • I would think so.

  • Thanks! You never see this on GSN.
