i was very dissapointed when I saw this movie, I´m reading the book and seriously, there's no emotion in this movie in comparison to the book. When I read I feel so related to Veronika (and I think everyone would), but in this movie, they missed the whole background on her suicide, and how was she improving later in Villete...... read the book please people!!!

I love everything about this movie, still, since I first saw it last year. I'm now finally reading the book and am happy this adaptation (despite the obvious main huge difference - the setting) is genuinely faithful to the novel.

@MultiBrunettee No. The "you will die in a week" is an experimental treatment the doctor came up with to show people that life is worth living. It's beyond predictable. Right from the moment they tell her that you know it's all a ruse, but it's still a great book(haven't seen movie yet).

Veronika Decides to Die was the first book from Paulo Coelho I've read, and I was so impressed I continued reading his books. I haven't watched this movie yet, but it's too bad the movie is not filmed in Slovenia. I had very different picture about Veronica and her life while I was reading the book.

I loved the book but was a bit disappointed with the movie, because of the changes that were made. In the book, the plot evolves in my hometown - Ljubljana, Slovenia, and NOT in the US. Uhh, it's always about the US :(

I'm looking forward to the movie, but even from the trailer it seems as though it isn't going to do the book justice. If I'm to watch this movie, I'd like to see a live form of the book, with nothing changed and nothing taken out or added.
