but having said that a country like India don't have to worry about man power and even about Military equipments too. Research and development needs more money than joint development with well established powers like Russia and the US. Both countries at least 100 yrs ahead in terms of technology. eg Gas turbine engines.

but having said that a country like India don't have to worry about man power and even about Military equipments too. Like China, India also license manufactures everything from BMP infantry vehicles to MBRLs. If demand arises, more orders will be placed. well, nobody thinks that way, nowadays. Indian Military is a good example. People who do, are still living in the past. World wars I and II, yes numbers and manufacturing were important but in this nuclear and technology dominated century, numbers hardly mean anything.
If India defeats Pakistani conventional forces due to numbers advantage, Pakistan is going to go for nukes.
In the case of China and India, the war will be nasty. Both sides may not gain advantage even in conventional fighting.

We got to be a bit more clear here !! India's no first use policy is only against non-nuclear states. Recently, it was confirmed by India's National Security Advisor Shiv Shankar Menon.
It means, like Indiansoldier1999 posted, if India feels that its territorial integrity is compromised in a war with nuclear state or states, nuclear bombs and missiles with nuke warheads will be used.
It also means, if Pakistan nukes India, India would nuke not just Pakistan but China too - nuclear connection

Infrastructure is improving near Indo-China border. It could take some time. Deployment of 60,000 soldiers with mountain warfare skills is going on for some time now.
China wants whole of Arunachal pradesh. Don't forget that it is a heavily populated state. Nobody can illegally occupy it over night.
Indian media is doing a good job in keeping the government alert but some times they go over the top and exaggerate the threat level.

Water is a bigger problem for Pakistan than terrorism. Unfortunately for them, India controls the rivers that flow into Pakistan.
3 to 6 rivers flow from Indian administered kashmir into Pakistan. India allows them under Indus-water treaty agreement.
India is slowly but steadily cutting down the water flow into Pakistan by building dams. Pakistan nowadays talks more about water than majority muslim population in kashmir.

India allocates 30 to 35 billion dollars per year. It is more than enough to make weapons locally and buy weapons from abroad. India is going through a modernization process.
India's weapons procurement is China specific. Force levels will be maintained according to it.
By 2015, India's weapon systems will be way ahead of China in terms of Quality and Quantity. If you look at the comparison videos of India vs China, you could easily tell that more than 50 % of its weapons are ready to retire
