When Quellig died, the whole audience in the theater started crying. So did I!! He was such a noble, kind, innocent, magnificent soul!! &, when he called Dr. Lazarus his dad, that really got me too. Then, when Lazarus stands up, and goes striding after the enemy, it's like, with every stride: "You killed MY son!! You killed MY son!! You'll PAY, you a**hole!!" Noble. What a father would do to avenge his son. Long live Galaxy Quest!! Never give up!! Never surrender!!

Regarding the obvious dub on Sigourney Weaver's line, the film was originally supposed to be an R-rated comedy for adults. Late in production (before shooting was even over), it was decided to tone down the violence and language to make it more of a family-friendly, so some stuff that was already shot had to be altered in post-production. I think making it a family comedy was a smart move.

When Sigourney clearly says "fuck" and they overdubbed "screw." What's weird is they obviously knew during filming the kind of rating/audience they were going after, light tone, etc, the boundaries of which would've definitely been stressed by using the F word. You'd think during filming they'd have covered their butts and shot both versions so that if they later changed their minds (which they obviously did) they could've used a real take rather than having to resort to unmatching overdubs.
