wrong info Leo Alfa has won in DTM in 1993, the ETCC was won from 2000 to 2003... and also a thing you shoud have know that the Alfa 147 cup ran in germany from 2001 to 2005 ( i think) had 1.9 litre JTD diesel engines...

i had two alfas in my early driving career, a family-inherited 164Q and its subsequent parts car.

i loved driving that car. AWD, manual transmission and the sirens song of mechanical harmony coming from its 24v V6 and OEM stainless exhaust.

i hated fixing that car, especially living here in the southern US.

Running unburnt fuel and/or unburnt exhaust gas back into the engine to keep the engine cool is nothing new. It's called the Exhaust Gas Recirculation System (EGR) !!! =) Most cars produced after 1980's have them as a mandatory emission controlling device.

Hey Leo the Alfa Romeo 158/159 had a 1,5 liter supercharged engine, not 4,5.

The regulations from that period said you could either have a 4,5 NA or blown 1,5.

Good catch. Actually think I was wrong on 2 fronts. Motor size AND it was the 159 [the last iteration of this car - powerplant] that required the 5th stroke and got the bad mpg. Yea, FLD / SD viewers!

And the fact-fixing keeps coming! Over at the YT ShakeDown page, a commenter corrected me. Alfa won the ETCC [European Touring Car Challenge], not DTM.

Somewhere between DTM's troubles, and the FIA wanting its place in TC racing, ETCC emerged then faded, and new DTM came to be.

Bottomline - Commenter correct, Suit needs to do more fact detailing before speaking!

To Leo: Go to PM910's channel on youtube (or anyone else) and their are 720p HD Super GT practice laps, the super laps for both GT300 and GT500, plus the race there and uploaded in 720p as well. I found that channel randomly one day searching for a way to watch Super GT. Plus the person who post it posts it within 1-8 hours after it happens!

@c0nv1ct1337 fiat owns ferrari, ferrari owns alfa and maserati. i think thats how it is, and both those have detuned ferrari engines, 3 gen old gear boxes, purposely detuned handling ect... no car made by fiat will be better than ferrari while ferrari is around. alfa romeo needs to break loose from ferrrari/fiat NOW and start racing. isnt it funny, fiat buys chrysler and the first thing to go is thier best car, the viper?????
