First time I watched the Wall, I was 9 years old, it was in 1988. My father was a sailor and he brought the tape secretly on the ship through the border of USSR. He could be jailed by that time. You know, I've heard a lot of people say that "rock is junk, whilst classic music is forever". In my view, it's just a matter of being in the right timeframe. If Roger Waters & Dave Gilmour had been contemporaries of Beethoven or Tchaikovsky, they would be hailed as genius, on par with the composers of Ode to Joy or Capriccio Italien. Comfortably Numb is a masterpiece, and therefore defeats time itself. A great song, performed perfectly. It's shame PF is no more. I miss them big time.
