I enjoyed watching tractor Pull. It seems foolish, but you can't stop looking anyway. From an engineering perspective this is quite an interesting motorsport, you got to give the builders credit for putting something like that together.

Definately more fun on the seat than watching from the stands but due to health problems I have to settle for watching nowdays. Building a competative machine that meets all the safety rules takes inguinity. Some people play ball some race and some of us pull tractors for fun. Most are hand built with auto engines that put out way more power than they were intended to. Great fun-don't knock it unless you have tried it. Pulling is addictive I should know I am an ex-tractor puller myself!

A question. Years ago I knew some puller. Back then then Turbine guys always faced the exhaust forward and up to help hold the front end down and put the extra weight on the back. I noticed lately they have turned them around. Did the pulling association require it or did they do it to stop sucking up so much dirt from the wheel spin? Just wondering if anyone knows. Thanks.

@cyberlee007 No one has required it. They have been doing some expermenting with the turbins that way and on the newer style sleds. Just trying some new things. Most of the orgs. have requied dirt seperators on the though.

To those criticising tractor pulls, it's no different than other motor sports. Some farmers probably got together years ago to argue over which of their tractors were faster, stronger, or whatever. That led to a challenge, which likely attracted spectators. When that proved popular, someone obviously decided to make money promoting the activity. Millions now watch these events in the USA, Europe, and elsewhere each year. The ingenuity & skill behind the design of these machines is interesting.
