@4leafclovers402 The big one has shop lights (daylight bulbs, 2x32w Philips T8 fluorescents), and the first one in video has screw-in-type mini spiral fluorescents (also daylight, 2X9W). All tanks are in 2 wpg range.

@aetherealworlds Depends what you're after. All I have is low light tanks & plants; for that on my 50 gallon, daylight shop lights work fine. If you want to go into anything higher light/more diverse, then you have to investigate some of the better aquarium lighting canopies and I really don't know anything about them, sorry.
@popeyeswife I collect mine from the lakeshore. As far as how to know what to use, this gentleman has an excellent article on rocks -- skepticalaquarist com/rocks -- and how to test for safety. (Note Start website with 3 w's and where I have double space put in a dot because this won't let me put in a direct link.
@ilistenttohippohop Do you have an Aquarium Society in your area? Somebody's bound to have it. If not at a fish store, check garden centers in spring; maybe with the pond plants.
haha i know how you feel when you have to clean those XD i have only 5 fish tanks all in my room, plus a hamster and a dog... i guess i shall clean the cichlid tank! goodbye :D
@x0XMichaelX0x Salvinia natans. Grows like a weed, I dispose half of it every week into my compost bin. It's like duckweed but much bigger and less annoying (and unlike duckweed easy to get rid of if you would want to).
@adityadg7890 The 29 gallon (second largest tank) that is not on a "real" aquarium stand is on a credenza that I bought in 1979 from a local department store. That's interesting that it looks Indian. Cheers!
Dude you are an aquarium pimp lol. You should buy a dwarf frog box just for good measure. If I may ask, do the tanks represent different themes of environments? It's just that if I had that many tanks, they would have strong distinctions from each other.
@bismathebox It really depends on the fish. Research to find out their preference. However, generally speaking, most will be all right at 76 to 79F. No need to ever change the temperatures for seasons. If you need to adjust temps by a lot, do it slowly.
@Donzieja Gender=female. Getting Started: research "easy" plants on Tropica & other sites. Finding some of the plants is the hardest part - if u have an Aquarium Society in yr area & they have meetings/auctions, this will help greatly. Next look at entries in AGA Aquascaping Contest to see what you like best in designs - note these people have high light, C02 & many plants out of the "easy" realm but it's good for seeing what u like, i.e. rocks or wood, alleyways or a jungle...
can you help me? what are your specs? i have a 75 gal tank, a little more than 2 watts per gallon, co2 with inline reactor and ph controller set to around 7.1 to 7.2, bubbles going at 2 drops per sec. lights on 10 hrs a day, i'm getting algae on the glass, and hair algae growing on my plants, and the plants don't look like their growing well and slowly losing color...the substrate is eco complete, and i use liquid ferts every 4 days...what's wrong??? the tank is only 2 weeks old... thank you
@poulisw Approx from 8 to 10 hours (or +/-), you have to see what works best for your setup... most of mine are on for 9-1/2 hours, two of them are on for 9.
you have done really well, your tanks are pristinely clean. In my vids I show my living room as a fishroom, but you have still far more room for tanks!
Oh my.. that is intense and impressive! How muc time does it take you to maintain all these? I hope to have a "fish room" one day, but not this scale, hah.
most plants will grow in whatever medium you have but some will work much better than others. aquaponics is just like hydroponics u dont need soil just a substrate so same concept here. if u are going to do a planted tank go get onix sand, florite, ext. and wattage per gallon should be checked so you know what plants u can grow. and fertalize once in a while plants need food to(fish shit doesnt have everything a plant needs)
with those small aquariums you have with cover with lights... do you put like a plastic glass to protect the lights? or not?
because I have the cover but I don't want to put it and turn on the light because the water from the filter splash and it might get electricity in my aquarium.
