These days, his range is not that huge. And it can be seen in this video, in 2:43 you can see that Jon just barely hits these notes, way worse than in older performances of this song. A big difference can be seen if you compare "Always" performances in 1995 (Wembley) and 2008 (Rock In Rio Lisboa). Yes, Jon still hits those notes but he does it just barely and doesn't sound as good as it used to be. That's what 20+ years of touring and cigarettes does to you.
I love them together...her deep voice compliments his music...Jovi is great but Sugarland makes his songs even better...you guys should record a CD together!Your AWESOME!
richie is using a floyd rose speedloader guitar here it is fucking beautiful im trying to build my own exact copy oh ho im half way there it will be ok some day rock on richie
Totally agree. I positively loved their performance of "Who Says You Can't Go Home" - was it during this show? The 'Non-Jennifer' version just does not compare. And she looks like she is having such a great time too.
he is sooooooo cute!!!!! the way he dressed up during the have a nice day "era" was cool. =)) tight tees! bon jovi 25+ years and still rocking, sweating and doing their thing! they are so original and yet you can relate to their music and what they right about. that's why they've lasted so long and touched about 3 generations already. i'm from the 3rd generation. ;)
These two have combined all there can be. I've yet to see a duet that comes even close. Their magical connection, in my mind, will not be replaced for me. They bring out the best in each other. Bring them back!!!
these two make a great team. great version of a classic song. this is kind of the unofficial state song of new jersey. you can't go to a bar here without hearing it on the jukebox at some point.
What's so great about this performance is that Jennifer Nettles could equally excel as a pop singer and that Jon Bon Jovi could easily excel as a country singer, which he's been trying lately. Two mutifcaeted talents on one stage.
this is one of the best live performances of this song because jon sings more then he usually does with out the bands help. It also is cause they have a nashville style to it and it sounds pretty good i have to say.
This song was probably the first one of the night. Notice how Jen gets pumped up when the crowd explodes after the drum fill at the very beginning. She looks at John like "Holy smokes, you hear that?" and John shrugs like "I get that every time." Gives me chills. This is maybe the closest you can get on the internet to knowing the feeling of *being* a rock star performing on stage.
this is the only time country sounds good! singing a Rock hit! with the actual band as lead vocals! now if they(sugarland) would have put this duet song on their album...they would have sold double the C.D's
I live in NJ, and even I realize that Nashville-style music is big. Listen to Bon Jovi's songs in the past 10 yrs. There's more than a hint of Nashville in these songs and John even admits this was intentional on this very CMT show! Why do you think he would even agree to do a CMT special with a Nashville-style group?
I don't think Jon have an impressive singing tone but his range is fucking incredible. Easily one of the best I've heard.

Not sure about that. Think one of the first Crossroads (if not the first) was Brooks & Dunn with ZZ Top.
