By the way, I find that the stage-60 as more feature then de ht-40. I'm 58 years old and grew up with classic rock...well you know. I feel that the HT-40 is lacking clarity on the overdrive section and less bass. Anyway, I'm waiting for your opinion. Thanks in advance...by the way, I'M french Canadian so...sorry about the bad English.
Hi...I have a ht-club 40 blackstar and I was thinking to exchange it for the Blackstar S1-45 2x12. However, I also listened to the marshall JVM205C and the Marshall vintage modern 2266c. As a result, I'm am confused loll so maybe you can give me your comparative opinion. I play classic rock, hard rock, country blues, rockin blues, rock &roll, Pink Floyd, Zepplin, AC/DC you know what I mean. I'm looking for tone, tone, tone and reliability. Thanks! Daniel
@SirMuddyPaws Depends what your doing. Are you playing at home or live? If your playing live with a band a would go with the HT Stage 60. For home use the HT5R would be great.
im stuck between this and a marshall vintage modern. I play alot of old school rock but my band plays modern rock. Im looking for something with balls and lots of mids to get that heavy tone. any suggestions?
@varone6t9 Hmmmmm...Both amps are great amps...I do think the Blackstar may have the edge on versatility, it has a few different voicings. The Marshall does have that legendary tone, but it is one tone.
@NstuffMusic thank you for the advice. I just finished playing this amp for a solid hour at a local shop. My mind is pretty set on the gem. Thank you very much!
I know that this isn't popular...but please check out my Blackstar demo as well :) I'm demonstrating how it sounds like on both a Les Paul and a Stratocaster!
@ryancoleman3 It should be good. It's definitely loud enough but if you want it to stay really clean it might break up a little but that might be a good thing too.
@mosher0rocker ive got the 40 watt version and its definetly loud enough, the 60 is even louder. bare in mind. in a bedroom situation the 60 will sound worse at lower levals i feel, as it isnt loud enough to get any good tone from it
@mosher0rocker 60 watts tube power is enough buddy, you wont need to raise the volume a lot :D If you still need that extra boost, get a microphone and use it with a PA :)
Hmm.. I would say that the Ibanez isn't too good of a guitar to use for demonstrating clean tones.. But thats just me. I have nothing against Ibanez its just I would rather see that used for metal or some high gain stuff.
@frankibiris76r I have this amp and it's is very versatile. You can have super nice cleans and heavy distortion. And it works well with pedals (I don't use distortion pedals on clean channel, I have the OD1 channel set low on gain and I boost it with TS/RC Booster/BB Preamp). The clean channel sounds amazing with delay.
Hey man really like your style of playing. would you say you could get a good jazzy tone out of this amp as well? mine is coming to me on tuesday. cannot not wait.
love the amp but its just not my sound

That amp just sounds weird...Like too much treble, too much crystaline sounding.

blackstar ht5r combo or this ?

NstuffMusic 3 months ago
@SirMuddyPaws I played both of them yesterday my the local guitar shop.
The HT5R is real nice, but you'd be struggling to be heard in a band.
HT Stage 60 is (in my opinion) the best Blackstar amp under the Series One's
AlexSimchison 3 months ago
would this amp be suitable for home use?
ryansiew1 4 months ago
@ryansiew1 It's more than you need for home but it will still work. They make a HT40 and a HT20 that have lower wattage and are a little smaller.

can that humming be tamed with a noise gate? or is it something in the amp that makes it hum?
ThePleaoftheforsaken 7 months ago
@ThePleaoftheforsaken The Amp has a tone of gain it can definitely be tamed with a noise gate.

I play lots of styles (from indie super clean delayed tones, to heavy raw metal sounds), is this a very versatile amp? :)
also, i love big muff like tone, how well does this amp takes effects (gain in front and some cool mod delay effects on the loop)?
thanks :)

The amps have a master volume, so also at practice volumes they should sound okay.
PieterFW 1 year ago
@PieterFW This amp works great at practice volume because you can turn up the master output and turn down the preamp output.
