Is that button thing, looks like a doorbell, a panic button? is that why it makes a dog barking noise to scare away an intruder?

Can be used as a door bell or panic button - you can add more buttons to the system. You can configure it as a door bell sound or dog bark or even use your own sound.

Perfect system, although some form of siren should be used to repel an intruder, not something so ridiculously loud. Maybe something that can be played through the speaker.

Yes, one battery. AlertMe say they have now improved battery life from 1 yr to around 2.

This has just been featured on the BBC 'Digital Planet' programme, brilliant(but this vid would be *much* better without the infuriatingly repetitive "music" -:-(

Thanks for the comment. (Music is some garageband loops thrown together to give us something rights free we can use).
