Who gave this two dislikes?! What is there to dislike about this? Anyway, I know it's hard to believe but if you push the vuzvuzela button, it really makes the experience much more majestic.
That oil is coming from 3000 meters below ground, it's under extreme pressure. Something very heavy is needed to stop the flow, and it would also need to fit tight. Easier said than done. IMO using a bomb (not a nuke, smaller) would be easiest, collapsing the well. But I'm no geologist, could make everything worse for all I know.
Btw, there is months often even years of planning behind space missions. If we gave NASA the task of stopping the oil flow, and gave them one year of planning to do it, I'm sure they could do it.

This looks more like what I saw flying over my house about 2am Friday morning June 11 2010,near altoona PA.. thats late thurs nite for clarification purposes. ..But I only saw what looked like a a literal flying star that moved in a clear, straight line and the bright light did not change from bright white the enite time. It was visible until no longer in the optical range of the naked eyed and did not change the entire time in course or brightness. It was not a plane. What did I see?

この世界で二番目に早い高速大気圏突入データをアメリカは研究者としてとっても欲しかったわけだ。
だからNASAに観測させたんだよ。
だってアメリカが自前で同じデータを取ろうとしたら、打ち上げるだけで数百億円、耐熱開発技術やら何やら周辺技術入れたら千億円以上かかるからね。

@NamiGKBR 別にNASAもお人よしで撮影をしたわけではありませんよ。スペースシャトルよりもはるかに高速で大気圏突入する物体の底面温度計測等々が目的です。この観測結果を元に、より遠くまで行って帰ってこれる機体ができるといいですね。

How did they manage to keep the sample container from burning up? Different reentry angle?

@cocomaan they made the container from different materials, made it tougher against the heat. The reentry angle are the same in these two.
