  • Yes he taught Michael Jackson the Moon Walk, but it is often forgotten that Michael's brother Marlon was once the best dancer of the Jackson 5, and he was once as good as Jeffery.

  • salah..you fucking looter.

  • Reading some of the comments, some people are saying the Jeffrey TAUGHT Michael how to dance just because he was Michael's choreographer. You couldn't be more wrong. Michael came out of the womb dancing. Did you see his auction tape for Motown at the age of 5? Michael was always an awesome dancer. He was inspired by other legenday dancers, but dancing was already in his blood.

Jeffrey did teach MJ some moves and did make up dance steps for him, but he did NOT teach Michael how to dance.

  • Whats the name of the song at 0.56? Sounds like a Roger Troutman - Zap song.

  • Yay, it's Michael Ja............................

  • Top Man Jeff is Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrill

  • King jeff.

  • stramge amd gay noises but nice dances

  • HOLY SHIT THIS GUY IS 52 Thats impressive

  • Backsliding has a history, Popping dancers such as Poppin Pete and Jeffrey Daniel improved it as the Backslide and MJ perfected it as the Moonwalk.

  • It wasnt Jeff nor MJ, the first moonwalk was done by this guy

    watch?v=GRByZlHS6GE

  • this is the man that did the first moon walk, but when michael {rip} did it then it became famous

  • This is the guy that started it all when he was with Shalamar.

    Unbelievabley talented and unique style.

    This is THE man !

  • he kill it .. he like 52 or 53 !!

    4 haters

  • Wow...he and Mike both still had it in their 50's...it would have been great for Mike to have him on stage to pop and lock...during one number...the audience would have loved it.....

  • this should be the in the video dictionary as a definition for coordination

  • sick ass f&*%...still doing it? WONDERFUL!

  • this sucks

  • he's not just dance, he got soul in it

  • Imaginitive, smooth, funky, egdy, he glides, he slides and he's utterly convincing. Mind and body in perfect synergy. The energy is controlled but expressed with freedom. No wonder MJ wanted to learn the moves from you! Outstanding stuff.

    Love Bridget Metcalfe x

  • A lot of these people are influenced from the communities they come from. Do you think this guy developed his moved alone in his closet?? I'm sure he was influenced by people he danced with growing up. That's how the art world works, so sometimes you have to give individual credit to the person with the talent. So what if you could have "envisioned" creating amazing work and had the "idea" when someone can articulate your own image 1000000000 times better... like MJ.

  • most of the dances of the past 40 years were variations of james brown moves, along with jackie wilson and others. Jeffrey Daniel was moonwalking in 1980 How did Michael invent the moonwalk in 1983?

  • @kojakoff i still find it funny when people say michael invented the moonwalk even though it been around before he was born

  • @Blackjesus3 he perfected it and made it his own way

  • What's the name of the song!! anyone plz????

  • Make You Dance by Rufus Troutman

  • @brentonio

THANKS!!! Someone finally knew the song!!!

  • He's a genius, I wish he gave me some dance lessons someday !

  • OH GOD!!!! I LOVE HIM!!!

  • Thanks for sharing RTM - Jeff is the truth & he has always had them moves so the nay sayers can drink their hater-ade else where - @ least this Brother can still move & able perform on a stage while mfs get on here & post silly ass shit - Rock on Jeff - Oh & did I mention HE'S EVEN MORE FINE NOW THAN EVER

  • this shit sucks if i had paid for this someone would be getting me a refund

  • The 25,000,000 people who bought Shalamar records might disagree with symmlynn's opinoin of Jeffrey's notoriety . The 4,000,000 tv viewers who watched him and Jody dance on Soul Trainn every Saturday for four years prior to Shalamar might also . Yeah . He is definately a legend amongst his peers . I love him like a brother .

  • you wish!

  • I've known him right from childhood, he's legendary

  • uhhh salah does this look him up..lol

  • even thought this guy taught Mj the moonwalk Mj duz it way better i gotta say

  • i agree, i think michael jackson is better

  • whats the name of this song? i keep trying to look up the lyrics but nothing will come up under Zapp

  • this guy is FIFTY FOUR YEARS OLD

    absolute respect

  • what is the name of that song? i dont think its zapp and roger like everyone is saying

  • Jeffrey is a different class. Can anyone tell me if this tune is on youtube I know its Roger Troutman RIP but cant find this version

  • i need a good dance teacher.

  • MICHAEL IS BETTER THAN JEFRI DANIELS

  • cool performance !!! loved it=)

  • now who taught MJ the moonwalk, was it this guy or was it michael chambers aka Turbo???

  • It was this guy... there were others who taught him how to pop...

  • It was this guy:)

  • he taugh MJ to "backslide"...which MJ renamed the "Moonwalk".

  • He taught MJ a lot but it looks like MJ surpassed him in every way. This guy is not wrecking right here. He needs to fall back and collect his social security.

  • he is in good shape and health. his soul too. I cannot say the same for M.J. I prefer to judge a man as person not as artist.

  • He cant touch MJ long live the king

  • MAAAANNNN!!! JD is AWESOME!!!!!!

He is a DANCE GOD!! and FIIIIIINE!!! YES!

  • my dance teacher hes awesome

  • He has still got it and from the looks of it he will never lose it.

    He is a natural dancer.

  • if you can move , any noise will do..he prove that.

  • EXELLENT

  • kuenwah Jeffrey Daniel is a much better dancer than MJ is at the moment. He's kept himself in shape and trains hard. MJ was an amazing dancer 20 years ago but not any more.

MSBOOKIE-n the mid-1980s, Jackson was diagnosed with vitiligo and lupus; the latter is in remission in Jackson's case, both illnesses make him sensitive to sunlight. The treatments he uses for his condition further lighten his skin tone. MJ is still ontop and doing FANTASTICK

  • impresionante, el mejor bailarin del mundo, (despues de michael jackson)

  • this man's a legend in Hip Hop and dance

  • if hes a legend how come no ones ever heard of him? sorry if it sounds rude but really, ive NEVER heard of him

  • he was popular as a member of the group Shalamar....that's why...he taught micheal the backslide and if you can find the vid you can see that his backslide is super clean

  • He's both a legend and an unsung hero, just because you've never heard of him doesn't mean lots of other people haven't.

  • You wouldn't know 90% of the creators and pioneers of street dance unless you learn the dance styles and did your research.

This guy, Jeffery Daniel, is really the man behind Michael Jackson's mesmerizing dance moves. He taught Michael for at least a decade, choreographed MJ routines, was in his videos Bad and Smooth Criminal, and was a member of the band Shalamar.

    This guy IS a legend!

  • @brentonio

your an absolute idiot! Michael was a noted dancer 10 years and more before he even met JD. MJ and JD worked together and he showed MJ some moves but to attribute him as the man behind Michael Jackson is just plain stupid. consider there are hundreds of videos of how amazing MJ was before he met JD and then consider that MJ only did a handful of moves from JD, like 5 or less. Both are great but MJ was great before JD

  • Um, you have failed to understand my point. JD is the man behind Michael's own dance STYLE. Yes MJ was a dancer years before he met JD, but MJs STYLE of dance was not around until JD entered the picture.

The dancing we all know MJ for is a combination of styles, but JD is the one who is most prominent in MJs dancing. What you fail to realize is that JD's STYLE is what MJ uses most, not his dance MOVES.

  • @brentonio

Again you are wrong, I am tons of footage of MJ through the years and you are completely wrong. First off, MJ worked with many dancers of that time, those from the electric boogaloos and more. To give full credit to JD is ridiculous. Also as an adult performer, MJ had his own style before he met JD. I have more than one Shalmar concert and more than one JAcksons concert and you couldn't be further from the truth. Even JD said the picture is one sided about him working with MJ

  • I know MJ had a lot of teachers, but JDs STYLE is the most prominent dance style you will see in MJs dancing. I am in no way giving full credit to JD, but what you would classify as 'MJ style' comes from JD more so than any other of MJs teachers.

You don't seem to understand what I am saying. It's not about dance moves, it's not about skill, it's not about technique - MJs predominant dance STYLE comes from and was inspired by JD. All other dance moves etc come from other sources.

  • Again, that is not true, in the course of an Michael Jackson video..no popping or locking, ever. in the course of an MJ concert maybe 2 - 3 songs with popping and locking. So its a bit far fetched that MJ's total style comes from JD. Michael incorporates many different styles and in actuality did popping and locking before he was even taught, he wanted to refine his moves and to totally understand it so he worked with those guys

  • Wow, you don't know anything. I have seen MJ pop and/or lock during performances of Wanna Be Startin' Somethin', Jam, Human Nature, Smooth Criminal, Dirty Diana, Billie Jean, Thriller, Scream, 2 Bad, Stranger In Moscow, Remember The Time, Dangerous, Bad... do you even know what popping and locking are?

But what MJ got most from JD is not popping or locking, it's dance style. I don't know how much clearer I can make it. You obviously don't understand what I am saying.

  • cuz u not a dancer every choreogapher knows that JD help MJ just because u didnt kno dosent make it true...but its all good cuz ya know now even tho ur like 30 years late lol

  • Jeffrey can currently be seen dancing on the current Incognito vid for 'I've been Waiting'. Which is, as always, another cracking cut from Bluey. JD is also putting the finishing touches to his new album which seems to be nearing completion.

  • thats a robot

  • mj and jeff and amazing

  • anybody know what the song is in the background and who its by

  • Sounds like Zapp.... don't know, however

  • Sounds like Roger Trautman and Zapp. I've tried to find it but have had no luck so far.

  • The name of the song is

Make You Dance by Roger Troutman,

    peace =)

    Coquinho from Brazil

  • are you sure? i cant seem to find it :(

  • yes

  • It's Make You Dance by Rufus Troutman

  • No its by RUFUS troutman, not Roger.

  • wow so this is the real name? so it is make you dance by rufus troutman, i found that music in the Dj Batsu mix, but the name was by Roger, so i think that was wrong, thanks.

  • Yeah it's by Rufus Troutman, coz I have the CD. He is Roger Troutman's cousin i think, that's why it sounds like Zapp & Roger and why everyone gets confused! :)

  • @brentonio hes actually rogers nephew. and he was part of zapp aswell. roger taught him everything bout the talkbox :)

  • Can't nobody touch Jeffrey.

  • I wondered whatever happened to Jeff. Thank you for the update. I always loved him and remember when he and Jody were Soul Train dancers.

  • Dude gotta be near 50,dancing his butt off!

  • Jeffrey will be 52 this year and he's still doing his thing... proving once again that age is just a number!

  • @slimsxyblkwoman You got to be lyin'!!! This man can't be about turn 52!!!! He look like he could be in his 30s!!!

  • @GsShay Yeah, it's true, he is in his fifties now. He's been around a looong time. He used to sing with one of my moms all time favorate group called Shalamar. They ruled the r&b charts in the late seventies to early eighties. He's also the man that taught Michael Jackson how to moon walk during the thriller days.

  • @slimsxyblkwoman Whatever he is taking I want to take it, too! We all need whatever he is taking. LOL

  • @GsShay Chile, tell me about it! lol

  • @slimsxyblkwoman Mj would have been doing the same.. if he was given the chance.. he s really a dancer at heart too. God bless him

  • hes good but no as good as micheal jackson.

  • We are talking about the man that taught michael jackson how to moonwalk so mj is a student of his .and i love mj.

  • He may have taught michael jackson a few moves but that doesn't make him a better dancer. He's not even close though he's pretty good. I'm sure the guy who taught Michael Jordan to play basketball wasn't anywhere near at his level.

  • 20 years ago? He was still great during History era and his most recent performance that was in 2002 at amercian bandstand was just as great.

  • Suck a dick nigga jeff is amazing but mj polished it. They both dumb gud but eat a dick nigga mj is a lil bit betta and u jus mad cuz ur bitch ass cant dance nigga!

  • you must have missed his 30th anniversary special on channel 2 a few years ago-still looked untouchable to me ... and the rest of the world

  • ARE YOU INSANE! No offense but you're "nucking futz!"

  • Hey, great name, buddy.

  • haha...werd...

  • Dayum! The brotha was always funky. Remember him and Jody Watley in Shalamar? Love it!

  • What a legend!

  • Amazing! Brother's still got it!
