P.Domingo, siento que canta muy bién esta sentida canción napoletana, incluso en un momento modula como un napoletano, pone el sentimiento a lo que dice pero no es italiano,aún así esta bién. La mejor interpretación de esta napolitana recae en un solo divo: GIUSEPPE DI STEFANO. Domingo es un divo muy barato, siempre canta transportando hacia abajo, engolado, mala respiración, pobre dicción, nulo uso del diafragma y la maschera; en definitiva; un aficionado.

Puede gustarte más Di Stefano y puede no gustarte la técnica de Domingo pero no puedes decir que es un "aficionado", debes conocer más.

Faltó comentar que se debe considerar que esta es una intepretación de Domingo a sus casi 70 años de edad, eso tiene mérito.

Actually this song is "Core 'ngrato" written circa 1912 for Caruso by Salvatore Cardillo, to showcase Caruso's Neapolitan accent. Every tenor, baritone & soprano who sing this piece display their individual talent & emotion. Not all get the accent right. Listen to versions by Caruso, Gigli, di Stefano & Carreras. All great lyric tenors, but my favorite is Corelli (dynamic!, too powerful)-- and he gets the accent all wrong but who cares! It's art & just a matter of personal preference.

I have listened to every rendition of Core 'ngrato posted at YouTube and I must say that Dominic "Uncle Junior" Chianese's rendition puts everyone else's to shame.

(Yes, of course I'm kidding.)

Personally, I think Di Stefano's rendition stands head and shoulders above all the others. It's the only one that doesn't fracture the song into separate pieces. The secret is his extraordinary legato, which holds everything together from beginning to end.

Buena interpretación, aunque creo que prefiero la de Pavarotti, que resulta ser con ligeras inflexiones que me hacen pensar que el tipo realmente entendía más el dramatismo de la canción.

Digo, es un tipo obsesionado y devastado pues Catarí no le hace caso. Pavarotti capta el dolor del cantante, mientras que Domingo es técnicamente correcto, elegante, pero frío. No siento que tenga desgarrado el corazón como la versión de Pavarotti.

Been listening, somewhat compulsively, to this song all morning--it makes me cry, every time and this version is particularly magnificent. Carreras' version, in view of his illness, is also very poignant. Mario Lanza'a (it was a signature song for him) is also beautiful although his voice is a bit bombastic for me at times....his is also poignat and when you learn about his incredibly short, unhappy life, it becomes more so. Thanks for sharing this with us.
