Howard Dean is more interested in screwing the Insurance Industry than in giving us Health care Reform. I;ve read the bill, and there is great change and limits in out of pocket expenses. Stop whining liberals and let's pass this bill.
Landrieu is not, nor has she ever been a liberal. At least democrats are smart enough to recognize that the democratic party has within its fold a liberal, moderate, and right wing. In the past, it possible for the party to deliver on their promises to their constituents, when compromise was deemed important to maintain party viability. Today, this only helps the most extreme on the right, insuring the left that they will never receive what they ask for. Its time for a true liberal party.

"learn how the big boys do it?" these so called "big boys" are nothing more than graduates from clown college. liberals put up this facade like they're as one when 2 lib senators were bribed to vote for this healthcare theivery. so what am i supposed to be learning from two liberal idiots who can't even get their stories straight? i did learn the people will be coming out in droves to get rid of these lying dems in 2010. so sit, watch, wait & see.
@blkconservativ - "i did learn the people will be coming out in droves to get rid of these lying dems in 2010"- What? And replace them with lying Republicans in 2012?
Landrieu, Lieberman, and all the rest of the conservative Democrats are corporate prostitutes !!! I'm glad Dean is fighting for progressives and real health care reform !!! Not wealth care reform !!
Socialized medicine is disguised as a humanitarian effort but it's just a power grab and has nothing to do with helping the American people.
The Obaaama sheeple on the left think that bigger government is the only answer but it's just getting us deeper into trouble and nowhere closer to the utopia they're searching for.
This is just one more step towards socialism and we have one of the most corrupt congresses ever.
Obama is not a liberal! That is why we "the liberals" are pissed! He is nothing more than a corrupt, capitalist, bought and paid for schill for the military industrial complex! Socialized medicine? What f**king country do you live in? Have you ever been to a doctor in this country? When you receive your bill do you say "thank you federal government for covering the cost to see my doctor" or do you say "f*ck, the insurance bill is due and I don't have the money to pay my premiums right now!"?
Dean and kucinich are the true democrats worthy of the democratic title. Landrieu is a f**king wh*re for the insurance industry! Landrieu and lieberpuss should be tarred and feathered! I can't believe that we who are on the left, were conned into voting for Obama. What a monstrous let down.
"If that's not enought I don't know what is" If she thinks we believe that, she is on crack. NO IT IS NOT ENOUGH. . Stop the insurance company rape of this country by stoolies in the Senate like Landrieu. The public option forces insurance companies to be competitive and stop the rape.
Too bad the whole segment isn't shown though. Dean looks like a friggin national hero! The WH should've cut a deal w/ him long ago. Y'all really should get ya game up though. I know it's cool getting press seats and all but soon others'll be eating all your lunch...real soon. I'm a slow runner to the truth, should be more like a canary to y'all.
If I sell you a loaf of bread for a dollar, and it cost me 75 cents to make it, then my profit is 25 cents. This is commerce, and I'm a Baker. If I sell you a loaf of bread and my profit is 25 cents PLUS however many slices I can get away with stealing back from you, I'm not a Baker, I'm an Insurance Corporation. This is NOT commerce. This is NOT industry. Mandating the purchase of junk insurance, will kill the Democratic Party. It will be a 20% tax with negligible benefits. It's illegal.
When Landreu claimed Dean wanted to "end private insurance," he really got hopping mad. It's a standard GOP talking point and he should have kept his cool. "If you don't support fascism, you're a communist." It's complete fucking hogwash and easily disproven. It's effective in these lightening rounds. "The lie oft told."
Non-profit Cooperatives != Public Option. Landrieu has no clue what she is talking about, or she is choosing to equate the two things AND choosing to forget what Obama campaigned on. Liars. Next election, I'm voting 3rd Party.
The mistake you and other voters make is in thinking there's a difference between Democratic and Republican "corporatists"... the divide is not D v. R, or Left v. Right, it's the 2% Richest / Transnational Corporate v. the 98% rest of us.
If the reps werent so fucking greedy and corrupt this would be done already. Its what the majority of people want ( as shown in many polls i've seen) People want the public option.... it is after all a fucking OPTION nobody is going to get in the way of your doctors, because after all if you think thats whats going to happen stay with your fucking insurance provider and dont go to the universal.... But noo it is now clear that in this country the people have no say.
@Dyldo21 are you that stupid. If the 'people' want it the dems. have enough votes to get it. The reps don't have the votes to stop it. The dems just can't come up with a good enough bill that even their own people will support.
Had to delete the part about the douchebag dems with too much many given to their campaigns from the ins. companies cuz I went over on the character count jeezz. chill out.............. but really are you stupid?
I guess you are ignorant. If the majority had their way Obama and his health care scam would have been tossed long ago. Too bad the Constitution is getting in his way. The government has too much control now and the dems want more.
1. I'm not convinced a majority is against single payer.
2. I'm not convinced a majority of Americans are qualified to have an opinion.
The number of people that believe or don't believe in something has nothing to do with that something's merit. If I'm in a room full of people who have never read Hamlet, but ask them how they feel about it, what kind of quality in opinion are you going to get? If this is your logic, who is the ignorant one?
@cragholder I'm with you. The Government already sets the prices for half the healhcare sector directly and the other half indirectly. They control cumsumption and production. They have doen a lousy job of keeping cost down and their policies have actually caused our high prices. We may have a private market but private isn't free market when Government calls all the shots. People blame insurance yet it is the Government that took the decision out of consumers hands and they drives prices.
the democratic party should be dissolved or renamed to "miscellaneous". it just makes no sense this woman and stupak of the stupak amendment are in the same party as, say, ted kennedy and howard dean
"I'm not a member of any organized political party, I'm a Democrat."
--Will Rogers
It was true then, and it's still true. Southern Democrats were always more conservative than northern Republicans, for instance. But at least in the old days they could still manage to get a few things done by arriving at a consensus. But apparently the modern Democratic party has a few members that would rather see their party go down than lose their own seat or their own lobby money.
Listen up, Liberals: This is THE reason, why you should stop laughing at Conservatives for launching purity tests, 'cause ''moderates'' are full of shit and real troublemakers!!!
Actually it's conservatives who are full of shit, and the problem Democrats have is that the mainstream media won't call these Democrats what they are: CONSERVATIVES.
Liberals wanted single payer and moderate "centrists" proposed a public option as a compromise, which the reasonable liberals were willing to settle for. People who hate gun control, abortion rights, and any form of public enterprise are, and always have been conservatives whether they have D in front of their name or not.
I don't think we have to be as lockstep and fanatical as the right-wing.
I think most liberals expect the far-right of the Democrat party to stop biting the hand that casts a ballot for them in the general election.
The President pulled ahead of McCain in the 2008 campaign on the health care reform issue. This is not the comprehensive health care reform he promised.
The party is being held up by 4 or 5 unprincipled Senators. Harry Reid needs to show some leadership and move forward.
When Landrieu says we never had a choice about mandatory private insurance sign ups I believe her.
The private Ins. Co's stomached the reform on pre-existing conditions and payout caps because they knew they were getting 30M new costumers, guaranteed.
The heat from the town halls was nothing compared to the arm twisting in DC the Democrats are getting now. As soon as they drafted real competition, the Medicare buy-in, the lobbyists swooped in like vultures.
Landrieu isn't up for re-election until 2014. Considering that the average voter has the memory span of a gnat, that means she can do pretty much anything she wants.
Ben Nelson (2012) and Blanch Lincoln (2010) are more tempting targets, which is probably why the progressives were targeting Lincoln with TV ads this summer, and she folded.
You stand correct. The fat bitch's seat isn't up for grabs until 2014.Her, Blanche Lincoln, & that piece of genetic human waste Joe Lieberman can do more considerable damage until then. But I believe Lieberman is up for re election in 2012. And as far as the American voter goes. I couldn't agree w/ you more. If American actually had a cerebral electorate, we probably wouldn't have a lot of these problems w/ corporate lobbyists paying off politicians, etc. Americans are dumber than horse manure.
God bless you Howard Dean! Landrieu is a disgusting human being who doesn't give a fuck about the American people- only her pals in big business. Fuck these assholes. Liebercare must be STOPPED! We need real reform that benefits the American, not rapes us in the ass! Fuck these sell outs.
If Obama can't even get this bill through congress in his first year then there really isn't hope to see anything from him in any area in the coming years. Presidents have most of their power in first year in regard to getting things the way they want and just see this mess.
You guys shouldn't assume everyone is a "sheep". Your sources have you not trusting a single thing anyone says but trusting everything they say. I'd say that is much more powerful mind control than what a lot of us "sheep" have. We question all sources-whether they are telling us to trust THEM, or to NOT trust someone else. Then, we simply apply logic.
No, people like you switch sides bouncing off the fake left and fake right every two seconds based on the asinine performances there puppets put on and whatever lie sounds most appealing to you that and the fact that the truth the REAL truth is so outrageous and terrifying that you would outright ignore it and condemn it as Crazy or label it into one of your factious political partys to demonize it.
First of all, if you conspiracy theorist sheep want us to know the "truth", THEN GET YOUR FUCKING STORY STRAIGHT!
I mean Jesus Christ, I used to be kind of into that shit until I realized that every fucking theory has a different world history, a different conclusion, and different villains and different heros and that most of the people who believe those theories don't seem to care about that inconsistency.
I don't believe everything I see in the MSM, like you do with conspiracy theories.
Chris Matthews' show is worthless when he allows people to talk over each other like this. Every time I see a clip from his show, this is the style of debate. It's a sad waste of time. No one gets a chance to complete a sentence, so it's no wonder we all misunderstand each other's proposals so much.
I don't know. I pretty much got the gist of it. Dean was saying that there is no public option, or anything comparable to it and that the bill will will just force us to buy health insurance without containing the abuses of it, and Landrieu was saying that a public option would eliminate the entire industry, but they do have something comparable to it, & Dean still disagreed.
When is Alan Grayson going to weigh in on all this? It would be awesome to see him join with Gov. Dean and KILL the Lieberman piece of shit bill.
I can't remember ever being so disappointed in a politician as I am right now with Obama. I really thought he was a true leader, but now I am beginning to realize that I, like millions of others, was wrong about him. His lack of leadership on this issue is as disgusting as Tiger Woods's promiscuity.
I heartily agree. I voted for the man, then went back after the polls closed to caucus for him, had a yard sign and still have a bumper sticker, and I live East Texas!
But I have had enough. I have never been more disappointed with anyone for whom I've voted before. Gitmo, Patriot Act, Iraq, Afghanistan, Blackwater, torture, health care, unemployment, Lieberman, and on, and on...
The ONLY thing he's accomplished is that he kept the economy from imploding, by making rich bankers richer.
She's been well paid by the leadership and I'm sure Rahm will make sure the DNC backs her financially in her next election. She gave ole crazy Bachman a run for nuttiest nutbar in that clip.
the government's already bankrupt, it's been so for almost a hundred years. that's why we have a deficit. a public option may not be the best way to deal with that debt, but considering we can get $500 BILLION to pay for the option just from medicare subsidies, it's scary to think how much MORE money the government hands out to the insurance industry on top of that
and if i'd have to choose, i'd put 100% of that money to people who actually need it and don't have health care, not hand it out to insurance companies so they can fulfill their multi billion dollar executive payroll
He and Ken Lay shared a "man of the year", along with Hitler 28, Stalin 39&48, Nixon, Bushes multiple times, Ayatollah Khomeini, and Obuma's banker buddy BERNANKE. It's an interesting list.
Im sorry but that "worse than Bush" stuff is still pretty ridiculous.
If we could see an alternate universe where Bush was still president for this past year, I am pretty damn sure this one would still look more desirable.
Do people really think this is as bad as things can get? Do you really think Bush would have stabilized the unemployment rate?
Obama has been a disappointment to me-because I am very far to the left & he isn't. But he's not a total fuck up. People are a little impatient.
@IAMtheNewWorldOrder At least he wasn't so f*cking stupid as to tell ABC "NEWS" that "if they didn't sign the "health care" bill, the government would go bankrupt".
That's about the only real thing that's different between the 2. NOT THE STUPID PART, the STUPID STATEMENT.
I know, we've been bankrupt since the great depression. Most don't know that, and we will see what happens with the stock market and dollar tomorrow.
" very far left", move to another country, the minority won't win out here.
Luckily, I don't think investors and CEO's are all as crazy & dimwitted as you and the rest of the tea bag crowd.
I might listen to you guys when you talk about economics, if it wasn't for the fact that ever since the 80's, we just keep doing things more and more the way you want them to be done, and our deficits keep plunging, and the gap between rich & poor keeps growing, with the vast majority of middle class people earning less instead of more. We know YOU think you're right but you're not
@IAMtheNewWorldOrder BUT NOTHING HAS CHANGED with the left up front. The majority in congress with be flipped in the next election, just like every time the majority is in the WH.
I think your the dimwit. You sound like the "talking points" NWO. Hows AJ doing anyway?
So by the end of his term and when nothing has changed you'll still be saying "People are impatient and he should be reelected for a third term" right? Please the reason Obama isn't "Far Left" is because when the democrats won the roles were reversed the hero's became the bad guy's and the republicans the good guy's or so it superficially appears when in actually this is just all an illusion of choice and both sides are together against us. If Bush was still here people would have woke up.
jobs lost in January when Obama took office 700,000
jobs lost in October 111,000
jobs lost in November 11,000.
Now-why should those numbers just be automatically going down exponentially like that? Why wouldn't they STILL be increasing each month like they were when Bush left?
Some idiots took some hypothetical money from rednecks who "bought" McMansions & they gambled it in the stock market, causing some of the oldest, largest banks to crash.
Real money never gains in value it just stays constant.
Its not the price of gold that has me worried , its the low interest rates offered on paper money. You're forced to buy gold otherwise you lose purchasing power.
2000 Gold $265 45,000 salary or 169 oz
2009 Gold $1125 45,000 salary or 40 oz
But here's the kick in the nuts if you kept it in cash
45,000 now worth 11,000 (75% loss)
169 oz now worth $190,000 US
That's why fiat money sucks it can't hold value when they counterfeit.
Boots why do you even post on these videos? Do you watch them, or do you just say "I'm gonna go tell these idiots about the gold standard! Then they'll understand."
Are you hoping someday all hell breaks loose so people can say "Yeah, Boots920...he knew all along! He was trying to tell us!"
I bet that's your ultimate fantasy.
Gold is a finite resource which you can not eat. It's just shiny and kind of rare and humans like shiny, rare shit.
You're so excited about taking back DC. What is your intellectually bankrupt party gonna do when they actually have the majority and can't just criticize dems all the time?
I thought 8 years of Bush was enough for people to learn that even though dems are far from perfect, republicans are far from being SANE and far from being COMPETENT in any way shape or form.
We really should have let the right own this recession. But I like not being homeless.
In the absence of serious campaign finance reform, EVERY congressman is essentially a lobbyist. We have only two kinds of congressmen:
The BAD, who foolishly think it's possible to strike a balance between pleasing their constituents and their lobby group backers, and
The WORSE, who only worry about the interests of their lobby group backers, and then use their lobby funds to hoodwink the voters into thinking what's good for the lobbyists is also good for them, whether it is or not.
Taking people's premiums and then denying them coverage when they need it the most is theft, but it's the way you make profits in the health insurance industry.
Oh, but I guess as long as you buy politicians and make your version of theft legal, then it's not theft and there's suddenly nothing wrong with it.
Why dont they pass laws against this type of fraud by ins co's. If you buy a policy they should never be able to drop you for any reason or deny any charges,it should be a lifetime policy. We also need to start using insurance for its intended purpose, catastrophe's. A checkup or sick visit to the doctor is not a catastrophe. Also remove regulations on hospitals, they are just hotels anyway and there should be as many hospitals as there are hotels, with the same range in pricing.Motel 6 to Ritz
It's only theft to Austrian School "economists" and libertarians, who define virtually everything government does as "theft" or infringment of liberty. For a movement that claims to be based on rationalism it sure leans heavily demagoguery. I wonder how far the modern libertarian movement would get if they didn't constantly rely on emotionally charged words.
We should eliminate the insurance companies. They suck 30 percent of our health dollars and add no service we can't replace with a bunch of computers.

It was true then, and it's still true. Southern Democrats were always more conservative than northern Republicans, for instance. But at least in the old days they could still manage to get a few things done by arriving at a consensus. But apparently the modern Democratic party has a few members that would rather see their party go down than lose their own seat or their own lobby money.

bobhardball 2 years ago

TrollBuster9090 2 years ago
You stand correct. The fat bitch's seat isn't up for grabs until 2014.Her, Blanche Lincoln, & that piece of genetic human waste Joe Lieberman can do more considerable damage until then.

In medicine:
You cannot say the price livers will go down in Dec. so you will wait.
You cannot go to school and learn to perform surgery on yourself.

the government's already bankrupt, it's been so for almost a hundred years. that's why we have a deficit. a public option may not be the best way to deal with that debt, but considering we can get $500 BILLION to pay for the option just from medicare subsidies, it's scary to think how much MORE money the government hands out to the insurance industry on top of that
phffeir 2 years ago 2
and if i'd have to choose, i'd put 100% of that money to people who actually need it and don't have health care, not hand it out to insurance companies so they can fulfill their multi billion dollar executive payroll

1776 Gold $20 in US paper
1913 Gold $20 in US paper with central bank in control
1933 Gold $20 in US paper (government fucks take "We the people's gold
1939 Gold $20 Government fucks default on their contract to give the gold back
1971 Gold $35 Nixon ends gold backing of US dollar because he was counterfeiting money to pay for Vietnam
2009 Gold $1100 Federal Reserve Note becomes worthless paper because they're counterfeiting to pay for sandbox wars.
Wow what a rip off ?
boots920 2 years ago
Why is it a rip off when our salaries have kept pace with it?
Price of gold 1933: $26/oz
Average salary 1933: $1500 (or 58 oz of gold)
Price of gold 2007 (before the panic spike, and where it will likely return): $695/oz
Average salary 2007: $45000 (or 65 oz of gold)
If you really insist on getting your salary in gold, just go and trade your paper for some gold. You can still buy as much as you could in 1933.
TrollBuster9090 2 years ago
Real money never gains in value it just stays constant.
Its not the price of gold that has me worried , its the low interest rates offered on paper money. You're forced to buy gold otherwise you lose purchasing power.
2000 Gold $265 45,000 salary or 169 oz
2009 Gold $1125 45,000 salary or 40 oz
But here's the kick in the nuts if you kept it in cash
45,000 now worth 11,000 (75% loss)
169 oz now worth $190,000 US
That's why fiat money sucks it can't hold value when they counterfeit.
boots920 2 years ago

In the absence of serious campaign finance reform, EVERY congressman is essentially a lobbyist. We have only two kinds of congressmen:
The BAD, who foolishly think it's possible to strike a balance between pleasing their constituents and their lobby group backers, and
The WORSE, who only worry about the interests of their lobby group backers, and then use their lobby funds to hoodwink the voters into thinking what's good for the lobbyists is also good for them, whether it is or not.

There is no "choice" to force others to pay for your health insurance.
That's theft.

Free markets are the only ethical choice, and also the most effective way to get health insurance for the poor.
freesk8 2 years ago
Taking people's premiums and then denying them coverage when they need it the most is theft, but it's the way you make profits in the health insurance industry.
Oh, but I guess as long as you buy politicians and make your version of theft legal, then it's not theft and there's suddenly nothing wrong with it.
IAMtheNewWorldOrder 2 years ago 4
Why dont they pass laws against this type of fraud by ins co's. If you buy a policy they should never be able to drop you for any reason or deny any charges,it should be a lifetime policy. We also need to start using insurance for its intended purpose, catastrophe's. A checkup or sick visit to the doctor is not a catastrophe. Also remove regulations on hospitals, they are just hotels anyway and there should be as many hospitals as there are hotels, with the same range in pricing.Motel 6 to Ritz

Defining taxation as theft is also sophistry.
