we watched this series in my tv production class and i thought this was one of the funniest videos and i know jason had no intentions of making him look special but he made it look that way i think this is one of the reasons he didnt win

I did not expect at any point in the competition that Jason to get as far as he did, as in I wasn't sure who was going to win. It was one of those reality TV moments that the finale has something a "last player standing after the dust settled" feel.

I personally thought this was very funny and well made... and I didn't find it offensive because I knew that it wasn't his intention for the person to be mentally handicapped, but after watching it a few times it's very easy to see as how it can be mistaken for so.

Me neither. I think that Jason just misdirected the actor, I think that was the problem. And it was irritating for the judges to start assuming that a mentally challenged person was Jason's intention and speaking to him as such when he made it clear that he meant the guy to be a nerd.
