  • Girls look sexy doing Capoeira just saying!

  • she is defenantly not a begginer :p lol

  • berimbau sounds somewehere between country guitar and shamisen... how great!

  • Good work to try catch an idea of capoeira. Of course this scrape just a surface. Still have to say Dina had quite one-sided perspective on this.

I would not call this one as documentary but a presentation of capoeira.

To HailelSela: Pretty strong word that master. And she didn't disguise as she wore yellow "corda".

  • she's a master of disguise already. she pretends to know nothing about it, but already has a good technique as well as the ability to play berimbau for a longer time (she's even singing while playing)...

  • capoeira topazio is one of the best in the world, now in london,,, come and do a class for 7 pounds,, we are in north london07854965885 monitor fonseca

  • @verones11 O nome da música é "A hora é essa" da cantora Carolina Soares

  • @NatarieI Believe me. Start to learn how to play and you'll instantly get hooked! That's how I came into it. =)

  • continando.. Otimo Doc.. parabéns

nice doc, congrats to production and peolple !!! axé

  • In fact Ginga comes from the Kimbundu jangala wich means make cercles with the hip like in dancing.

  • what is the name of the song at the ending???

  • @milani213 ahora essa thats the name and the artist is carolina soares i think ull find it on youtube

  • the host girl looks like she's done it before!

  • wow wat a beautiful art. it seems so spiritual and non aggressive in its nature. were can i buy good books/documentarys about it online ??? please help

  • it seems non aggressive, but it grown in the dangerous streets of Salvador da Bahia, it was used by street gangs as a lethal weapon. Try to find "Capoeira: a brazilian art form" by BIra Almeida (mestre Acordeon) or "The little capoeira book" by Nestor Capoeira. They were published all over the world, you should find them in every bigger online bookstore

  • @Magier87 that's true. A while back they even used to use Razer plades at the end of toes between street gangs. It resulted in having the art banned in most of Brazil for years. Back in Portugal we ended up having a similar problem but with Jugo De Pao. instead. Sadly unlike the beautiful Capoeira which did make a comeback, Jugo De Pao has only had limited return in the Azores. Here in Newark with teh Portuguese and Brazilian community, we have a nice selection of Capoeira schools.

  • forget about going online and getting documentarys just go get a capoeira teacher. that way you can have more fun and really get the moves down! =)

  • i would recommend a book called capoeira 100. it has a good variety of beginning, intermediate, and advanced movements.

  • na its one of the most cultural filled parts of capoeira

  • Capoeira Regional and many other styles are a variations of Capoeira Angola. So if you dislike Angola, you dislike capoeira as a whole.

Capoeira Angola is the traditional Capoeira of Africans.

  • That's not entirely true.

Angola/Regional and all the other styles are a part of what Capoeira is. So you can't just say "if you dislike Angola, you dislike capoeira as a whole." I would never do Angola, because it does't 'moves' me like Regional

  • BrainDDR,

I strongly believe that there are variations of Capoeira, but in its there is only 1 Capoeira. So every style contributes to Capoeira today and none more so than Capoeira Angola. Because Mestre Bimba was an angoleiro and his regional style was created from Capoeira Angola so in essence, every regionalista is an angoleiro. I know Angola is not as flashy or martially orientated as Regional, but it has held some of the most violent games I've ever seen. I practice both styles >Continued

  • Continued< There is no superiority between Capoeira styles. Mestre Bola Sete said it best: Modern capoeira is similar to a young and beautiful woman that naturally rivets whoever sees her, although she is completely empty in her essence. Whereas the traditional capoeira of the past was more similar to a simple woman of the people, who does not stand out at first sight, but however possesses a truer beauty, interior, that only the people with a more acute sensitivity could immediately perceive.

  • really cool movie!

  • nice!

  • Wow what an irritating woman!, i love capoeira .. but she does my head in..!

  • Very educational documentary. Thanks for uploading.

  • amm i want to know if you can tell me which song is beocuse i dont find it!! please XD
