A real solution - A Carbon Tax supporting Research is better than a Cap and Trade system because:
- Cap and Trade is too complex. How do you allocate the caps? Companies will lobby for whatever benefits them. Think about the government departments necessary for implementation. What a waste. A tax is much simpler. Determine how much carbon is being used, period.
- Spending money on research is much better than on lobbyists and paperwork and will more effectively reduce energy usage.
Agree. Best solution is a substantial carbon fuels tax, offset by an income tax cut (personal and corporate). We need to stop taxing what we want (value added) and start taxing what is bad (energy waste and pollution).
