its not attaching at the glut max:P glut max is attached to tractus iliotibialis aswell :) and yes you can stand up but remember to keep ur weight close to ur body and you will be ok... sposing no extreme lordosis or kyphosis is present.
The tensor fasciae latae does not go all the way down the leg. It is about 3 fingers wide at the top of the thigh, located between the upper fibers of the rectus femoris and the gluteus medius. attaching at the IT tract and the gluteus maximus. The group of tendons and ligaments you meant to say is Ilio-tibial band or tract. It's okay, alot to rememberwe all make mistakes
