Your playing history does not mean anything toward you ability to coach a team......you have to provided the best type of format for the type of players you have.....if they are a scoring team, who are atheletic then you play that way and try to shore up the defense......if they are a strong team you play that defensive game and shore up the scoring with the right kind of shooting guard or high % shooting forward or center....
