McBride plays with something few else play with in soccer. Grit, heart, and an undeterred desire to get the ball in the back of the net no matter what. Rooney, Lampard, and some of the English players have it, but Ronaldo, C.Ronaldo, Nedved, Borgetti? They're all floppers. Their skill is much better, but they don't have the heart, they play for themselves.

US Mens National Team really misses him. Great target man, incredible in the air, and he get he shares of goals, too. He's probably the most accomplished US forward in years.
