It's "messed up" for the sake of being messed up. I see no greater purpose to this film than to make one feel awful and disgusting. It basically shows a stinking cesspool of humanity. Films are allowed to make one feel awful- but after 2 hours, I'd like to learn why the director wanted to make me feel so disturbed and dirty.

when i first started watching this film, i was wondering what the hell i had got into but once this part started my mouth dropped and i was glued to the screen. i love this film i love the idea i can really relate to it, not that my father raped me, but having this skeleton in your families closet

I think it's just not allowed domestically, within the release of its home country. I mean, it has been dubbed several times into several different languages.
