  • is this the same thing as calcium bicarbonate? to make the little sphere balls things?

  • No, calcium bicarbonate doesn't really exist. Baking powder is made of corn starch, sodium bicarbonate and calcium biphosphate.

I need more information on the LSBT's to tell you what Little Sphere Balls Things are made of.

  • it's sad how smart all of you guys are compared to me. :( i'm gonna go read the dictionary.

  • I have to go read it almost everyday (I'm a terrible speller).

  • Educational! o:

    Like videos should be.

  • Agreed, I hope you're learning to be skeptical.

  • I knew John, but only for a year and only through the Internets.

  • You know the most amazing things. Maybe I should have considered MIT... or not.

  • Now we all know this amazing thing, Horsford was a science professor, but was seduced by one of the humanities.

Very little of that at MIT, but I enjoyed what little I found.

  • Right for the wrong reasons, indeed. -John

  • you aren't going to stop making videos too?!!

  • Nope, still vidding.

  • Whew....

  • I love everything I learn from your videos, and, you know, one day, a mad, multimillionaire professor might stop you on the street and offer to give you his fortune if you could answer who invented the baking powder!

Oooh, those yummy tomatoes on your table are making me hungry...!

  • They were amazingly good for winter-boughts.

My daughter has access to the best of all(so-called heirloom tomatoes, mostly unaffected by years of flavor-numbing inter-breeding)from a farmer's market in So. California. Well, at least the best in the US.

  • You are so cool. It's so nice to watch videos and learn something useless but interesting. Thanks for setting the bar high for secret siblings. - Stu

  • You never know, Stu, when this information may help. ;)

  • Happy new year Tom. I sure hope you keep making videos even through brotherhood 2.0 is over.

  • Thanks Nathan with the zoo bookends, I plan to.

  • Wow. Tom, you're just too much! I hope this new year brings you much joy and many discoveries. DFTBA!

  • Thank you AZ, my children and wife think I'm too much too!

  • Oh, Tom, you never forget to be awesome.

Will you continue to make vlogs in 2008? I will miss you terribly if you don't.

  • I will continue to make terrible videos in 2008. ;)

  • haha they aren't terrible!

    happy new year.

  • Thank you, are you a kindergarten teacher or first grade, kteachone?

  • i'm a student teacher right now (one more semester!!), and when i created this SN, i thought that i would want to teach K or 1....but now i think i like older kids better.

you're the first one to get that!

  • Tom, you are soooo Awesome!

    Have an fantabulous 2008.

  • Thanks CC, I hope you have a spriterrific year too!

  • I still don't get what the difference between baking soda and baking powder is. lol

    Happy new year! :)

  • All baking powder has some baking soda in it, but not the other way around.

I'm sure that clears everything up. ;)

PS I didn't know the difference either.

  • But Leif Ericson did actually land here. As did the Chinese (In California though)

  • Here=North America, not Here=A few blocks from my house here in Cambridge, MA.

He was certainly right about baking powder.

  • Excellent video Tom. The man you describe is fascinating. Thank you for making amazing secret sibling videos this year.

    -abby

  • Aww, you're welcome AhhB, I like to think of myself as the Eben Norton Horsford of amateur video making.

  • Good lord that's weird. Very very Secret Brother Tomish though. I will treasure it always. Katherine and I are headed into the wilderness for a couple of days (which I haven't been able to do in a year :-) ) we'll upload the vid of me opening it on the second.

  • Sweet, I hope the skies are clear both day and night and the stars shine bright for both of you.

  • love the tshirt namlhots. DFTBA
