I'm a Finn and I haven't heard of people doing this hot rock thing anymore when they brew sahti in Finland. I just brewed my own sahti and I mashed the beer in a regular sauce pot. After that I lautered it through juniper branches. Now it's fermenting (with baker's yeast) in a shed on my yard, the temperature outside is near 0 celsius right now but the sahti is fermenting in about 10 centigrades. After about 2 to 3 weeks I'll have tasty sahti. This is my way of brewing traditional finnish ale.=)
Wow, you guys weren't prepared for this at all were you?
You should probably hire me to make sure things like this go smoother; )
Either way, I'm just glad you did it. I have a bottle right now--good stuff. Spent about $100 on your beer this weekend because I currently reside in a Dogfishless state and have to hoard when I come across it.
you guys have an awesome job

@AntiWall I think that Hollolan Kivisahti ("stone sahti") is made with hot rocks sipped into the wort.

Was this your first time brewing the Sah'tea? Hopefully you've ironed things out a little more.

I'm just glad they go to the trouble to film this stuff! I love it!

Raw footage is always best.

Agreed, but this is why we're brewers and not video editors! Haha

dude...i love your brewery and beers but man...get yourself a video editing program to cut about 5 min out of this stuff

no way, loved the unedited stuff, shows a bit more authenticity and you dont have to wait around for the deleted scenes. go dogfish!
