In life, have seen it the other way around thousands of times. Usually depends on the weather. But in the middle of the ocean, in daylight, you can see a darker tone on the horizon. I assure you.

You arevery observant!! The rules in nature (good weather) is predictable BUT
Every rule goes ubside down in Storms and late times of day-
Observing is everything ing in painting- that must be your teacher.
