  • back when I was a kid this was my fav episode and his laugh was so scary...

  • im irish

  • -Great Scott!

    Joker: Actually, I'm Irish

    Is this true? xD

  • Francis looks like the glasses chicken from the foghorn leghorn toons as a human

  • Irish? Lol

I always thought he was Italian .. with all that mafia suit and greasy hair :D

  • why does Francis seemingly look like The Ventriloquist i wonder XD

  • @cryomanic I wondered that too? Odd eh?

  • He should have given him the patent, and then they could have sued him for environmental destruction and poisoning. LOLOLOL Can you even imagine Joker in litigation???

  • poor frances

  • Well they copyright natural resources now, like corn and soybeans. So if this happened today, Joker could legally do it, haha!

  • @youknowyouwantme95 Poor Joker, just thinking ahead of his time! lol

  • @youknowyouwantme95 realy? muahahhahaaha.....muahaahhaha.muahhahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhahahahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa(joker laugh)

  • @youknowyouwantme95 - they DO? Seriously?

  • @DoubleMiz Yup. Just watch the movie Food Inc. I think the company who does it is named Monsanto.

  • eeeew fish stink-a-rooney!

  • is there no full episodes of this anywere on youtube?

  • @dabizniss24 kinda sorta

  • This is the best Joker episode! The series didn't get any darker than this, ok maby in Feat of Clay and Dreams in Darkness, but this is the most frightning episode of the whole series. Joker's mood changes are more frequent and the victims of joker gas look horrifying! Add Harley, Bullock, big shark and a great score and you have a winner

  • @Blargstonecity Right on the money.

  • he got fish slapped...not BITCH slapped! AAAAAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...i suck. bad puns ftw!!

  • AHHHHH I LOVE THE JOKER'S LAUGH!!!!! it really is music to my ears Lol

  • FISH!!!

  • "Great Scott!'

    "Actually I'm Irish."

  • @xiomarax09

This episode based on Detective Comics #475. That scene was like this in the comic:

    "Good lord!"

    "Where?! *looks back*

  • I love the way he says "you may speak now"

  • isn't this like how donald trump tried to copyright "you're fired"?

  • 1:58 does anyone else notice that suddenly there are more papers when joker slams them at the table? o.o

  • @joemoe175 You just blew my mind

  • I didn't know he's Irish!

  • gotta love Harley

  • just so you all know

the "francis" voice is the same for the TNBA arnold wesker, ventriliquist

  • "He's crazy."

    Oh, no shit, Sherlock!

  • hopefully this video doesn't get copyrighted...

    by the Joker

  • Looks like Francis is gonna be...

    *sunglasses*

    Sleeping with the fishes

    YEEEAAAAAAAAH

  • Is it just me, or did the joker sound exactly like bugs bunny at 2:12-2:15?

  • I guess this was an early episode because Hamill's Joker sounds a little different.

  • @SyBabyProductions second season actually

  • 2:18 ... Did he just turn into Curly for a second there?

  • ummm monsanto can copyright life

  • Lmao " Trying to Cheat The Joker Are Ya ?"

  • Ida have Joker signing random forms all night long, til Batman showd up

  • you may speak now :D

  • so the joker is irish?

that explains the moodyness. he was probably a redhead b4 the chemicals got him...

  • This is a panel for panel remake of the comic by the same name. It's even more epic onscreen.

  • Could he not copyright the process or something?

  • I think this is actually legal if he genetically modified the fish (I think they did it for them glow-in-the-dark monkeys).

  • @deathbunny32 But these are wild fish taken from the ocean, thus they are a natural resource and cannot be copyrighted.

  • @2wingo Didn't Monsanto successfully sue farms that had been inadvertently contaminated with their grain stock brand? Of course, those were physical farms and whatnot. If he actually gene-modified the fish, got the copy right for the gene-modified fish, then contaminated fisheries his plan would've worked.

  • @deathbunny32 That.... actually would work. Something isn't right with the world where a man's plan to make fish look like him and profit off of it is somewhat feasible.

  • @deathbunny32 It might have, but remember: This the JOKER we're dealing with. He conforms to no one's logic save his own, and failure to conform to HIS logic is tantamount to digging your own grave.

  • @deathbunny Let's pu ti this way,Joker doesn't take no for an answer

  • "actually, im irish"

  • "But they share my unique face. Colonel WhatsHisName has chickens, and they don't even have moustaches."

  • how did the fish get teeth?

  • 0:22 I love Joker's new theme. It's the theme he has in the movie (Mask of Phantasm)

  • The dialogue in this scene is adapted nearly word-for-word from the comic "The Laughing Fish..." though (in my opinion) much improved.

Oh, and when Harley sprays that perfume on Francis? She's actually coating him with a substance (half of a binary reaction) that will later kill him with laughter.

  • Poor Franics.

  • Is the joker a sadists ?

  • I think that anne hathaway could've played halrey quinn instead of catwoman in the dark knight rises

  • I like this joker. But nobody can play a better joker than Heath Ledger.

  • The joker really needs to brush his teeth.

  • "this is miss quinn."

"And these are...thier name excapes me at the moment." XD

  • Francis: He's crazy!

    Joker: Actually I'm Irish.

  • In the comic, the copywright guy says "Good Lord!" and the Joker looks behind asking "Where?!"

  • Anyone read the comic that this is based on? I think it's in Strange Apparitions

  • @NocturnalExistence Yes, by Steve Englehart and Marshall Rogers. It's excellent.

  • "you may speak now" lol

  • i find batman tas very scary

  • Best line ever: Colonel whats' his name has chickens and they don't even have mustaches!

  • (slap) I TOLD YOU NOT TO SPEAK!!!! LMFAO!!!

  • The joker really needs to brush his teeth! LOL

  • "Great Scot!"

    "Actually, I'm Irish."

  • @Badbones78 i thought he was Italian

  • Isnt that the puppet master behind the desk?

  • I love the original scene in the comic. I actually have the text of the Joker's laugh when he enters the office copied as a tattoo up my side. Thanks for posting this.

  • The Joker is Irish? That explains everything!

  • In the original comic book story, Francis says "Good Lord" and the Joker turns around and says "Where?"

  • the Joker is the man!!!!.

  • Whats's the soundtrack? So gloomy yet unforgettable.

  • Best crazy laugh in the series, duno how hamill does it

  • Awww, widdle Harley!

    "En-chant- ee!"

  • 0:22

    Joker: *walks in* LMAO!

  • "the laughing fish" detective comics 475 february 1978

  • He's going home to play COD. Geddit?

  • "Their names escape me, what matters is that they're large."

  • Oh God...he's Irish!!!!

  • @stsars13 it explains a lot. :P

  • @silverknight2113 Damn straight XD

  • so when does joker do things legaly like copyrighting fish?

  • @avatarfangirl11 When he knows it's impossible to do so thus giving him an excuse to kill.

  • @Xemnas1989

but since when did the joker needs an excuse to kill anyway? lol

  • @SirPepe666 He doesn'tneed an excuse to kill. He odesn't need to do things legally, either. His goal is not the fish money, but the game. It's all a game- and that's where the laughs come from. :D

  • @Xemnas1989 Plus, as the guy says "He's Crazy."

  • @avatarfangirl11 When he knows it works better than doing it illegally (mind you - he's still dumping the chemical that gives the fish their face).

  • @hell5309 true

  • @avatarfangirl11 So he can make money off this.

  • @avatarfangirl11 For the lulz

  • The Joker has gone to a new level of evil-- the Monsanto level.

  • "Their names escape me, so we'll call them Thug 1 and Thug 2."

  • That's Mark Hamill known as Luke Skywalker as the Joker

  • Colonel what's his name has chickens, and they don't even have mustaches

  • "You may speak now."

    Loved that line. :)

  • 2:24 you could say he'll be

    [sunglasses]

    laughing with the fishes

    YEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHH

  • That hat does look good on him :D !!! I love it!!!

  • Joker's crazy if he thinks that that hat looks good on him.

  • Mark Hamill's Joker ftw.

  • "But they share my unique face! Colonel what's-his-name has chickens, and they don't even have moustaches."

  • gotta hand it to the wimpy looking man he's got some balls to stand up against the joker

  • the jokers laugh when he first enter the room is just priceless

  • Kif for the win!

  • So when the guy said "Great Scott!" I swear I half expected Joker to respond, "I know, this is heavy."

  • @TheoGary or Harley throws toilet paper at him :-)

  • to finance my happily hedonistic life style, so which of your tedious copy right forms do I fill out first. LOL, I love that line.

Even evil maniacs can't get around beauacracy.

  • ... Joker is Iris ...

That explains A LOT OF THINGS.

  • Yes Francis. He is very crazy

  • "Colonel what's-his-name has chickens, and they don't even have moustaches!"

  • Fish slapped!!

  • @Joecbg100 You took the words right out of my mouth! xD

  • @Ashuu0Luvz0Cashewz Thanks, poor Francis, but can he be that naive to not believe Joker's crazy?

  • @Joecbg100 I guess he could be xD. Though I don't think anyone could stop Joker if he wants to fish slap someone.

  • This episode had a genuinely creepy tone to it. It was perfect for showing off the Joker's ability to meticulously plan out every scenario down to the last detail, taking into account every possible outcome.

  • 2:37 (GASPS) NO!

  • 1:15 xDDDD

  • @alien2906 Joker keeps that pimp hand strong!

  • I think this whole plan was just so he could slap some guy with a fish.

  • Comment removed

  • OMG I love that laugh he enters the room with lol

  • gawd, i hate when people say the joker is crazy. Thank you captain obvious!

  • @JeanetteTheBrunette Joker's crazy

  • @JeanetteTheBrunette The Joker isn't carzy. ^_^

  • @JeanetteTheBrunette Seriously. Did the purple suit and clown facepaint not tip him off. Not to mention how he laughed like a maniac when he walked into the room. And he slapped him with a fish.

  • @JeanetteTheBrunette

    The Joker is crazy.

And no, you dont have to thank me. I just felt like someone should inform you that the Joker is crazy.

    - Captain Obvious

  • @SirPepe666 ok, so the joker is crazy. but, that's just what makes him so appealing!

  • @JeanetteTheBrunette i agree the joker is crazy

  • @JeanetteTheBrunette The real scary thing is the joker is sane. Our society is crazy. He uses randomness, irrationality, and anarchy to ideologically counter batman's will with nihilism.

  • @JeanetteTheBrunette

I don't think the joker is crazy, I think he is funny and a awesome example of a villain! No sane villain is better than Joker! >:D

  • "Great Scott!"

    "Actually, I'm Irish."

    DUDE! I'm 50% Irish!

I've never been more proud to have Irish blood in these veins of mine! ERIN GO BRAGH!

  • I told you not to speak LMAO HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @BigMilt007

And then he pimp slaps the guy with a flipping FISH! INSTANT COMEDY! XDDDDD

  • He's got a point about the chicken ya know.... just saying.

  • Harley called joker a Caliph?

  • Epic Laugh. Lol

  • Lifted almost word for word from detective comics #475, 1978

  • 2:18 joker says "YOU!!!!!!"

  • "Colonel what's-his-name has chicken, and they don't even have mustashes!"

Lol, the Joker made a KFC referance. My life is complete.

  • He's crazy? And he noticed that only now?

  • enchante? i fcking love harrrleeyyy!! :D

  • Mark Hamill is badass as the Joker

  • I want Joker's hat. it is awesome

  • What a psycho.

  • i like the animated series of batman :P

  • I'd like to see him pay a visit to those guys at WMG.

  • @EchoBoomer1987 Are you a TV Troper?

  • I cannot tell if he was joking or not when he said he was Irish. I don't care either way, it's just that Francis says, "Great Scott", and Joker replies, "Actually, I'm Irish". It just seems to me like he saw an opportunity for a joke and went for it. Anywho, the Joker is the Clown Prince of Crime, past, present, and future!

  • @mathislimitless Heheh, "This is Ms. Quinn, and their names ecsape me for the moment". You have to wonder, how's a brilliant guy like the Joker get stuck with a bunch of losers all the time, not counting Harley, of course?

  • @mathislimitless Hey, you need hired help. And its hard to get high quality goons. He doesn't really have the wealth to pay them, nor the 'patience' to really train them. So he just grabs anyone whose stupid enough to work for him, and bullies the rest into it. Honestly, I think some goons are just AFRAID to say no to the joker.

  • @Metool2 You make a strong point, you really do. I just think it is a little lamentable that such great villain as the Joker cannot get the hired hands he deserves (does that sound weird? Oh, well). I guess it's true what they say: "good help is hard to find".

  • @mathislimitless Well, judging by the general level of competance of most help the villains have, The Joker usually has pretty decent goons. I think he just has so much turnover he doesn't bother remembering their names (Batman has a habit of taking out the 'help', while Joker makes his escapes).

  • @Metool2 Yeah, I guess you're right. They are pretty good, compared to most hired hands.

  • @mathislimitless you wouldn't see Two-faces or Scarecrows boys putting on dresses and beanie caps. :3 -Referencing commercial scene of course-

  • @Metool2 Yet another good point, that's either loyalty or stupidity (then again, Joker is highly persuasive). By the way, that scene is one of my favorites, I did feel a little sorry for Harley, having to eat fish (I don't mind eating fish, but as I recall, she vomited).

  • @Metool2 Say, I just thought of something, where would you put Harley? At times I want to count her as her own villain, but then, she is so attatched to the Joker, I simply cannot see committing crime on her own (for long). Clearly she is smarter than she acts (I think), but she is definately blindly loyal to the Joker (then again, she has quite the temper). Just letting my mind wander.

  • @mathislimitless I think she's supposed to fill the traditional gangster role of moll. Technically, she's a henchman as much as the goons to the Joker, but she's more able to handle herself and tends to return to the jokers side eventually. And she is smarter than she acts, shes a professional pschiatrist, and if you go by the comics, she was also an olympic level gymnast that grew up as a perfectionist with high grades and honors.

  • @mathislimitless Then, in Mad Love, her life of painstaking perfection, over seriousness, and all comes to a head when she meets the Joker. His carefree attitude, ability to make her laugh, and convincing her to not take things so serious is what drew her to him. So she abandoned her stressful perfectionist life, to become the clown princes right hand harlequinn.

  • @Metool2 I saw the Batman: the animated series episode, Mad Love. Interesting episode, wouldn't you say? Oh, and out of curiosity's sake, I looked up a wee-bit of information on Harley, looks like though her grades were pretty high, she wasn't above resorting to seducing her professors from time to time. Yeah, she isn't really worth too much to Joker from what I've seen/read, but she is more capable than the usual grunts. Joker and Harley certainly are an interesting couple, to say the least.

  • @mathislimitless Oh yes, wonderful episode. Showed a new light on Harley, made the joker MORE awesome (He was whisteling his own theme song!), it just was a good episode, and apparently based on a comic (Harley first appeared in B:TAS, but Mad Love was apparently a comic before the episode). Harley has a bad habit of being drawn to strong personalities, whether it was initially with the Joker, or later with Poison Ivy. The funny thing is, I think even Paul Dini hinted at the les-yay there.

  • @Metool2 Heh, I have to admit, anyone who can actually whistle their own theme music, is simply incredible (would that be an example of the "Super-Sanity" (I know there could be any explanation for his ways, but that one is very interesting)? You know it's funny, I always thought Harley originated in the comics until I looked it up. I had actually witnessed her first appearance all that time ago, and I didn't even know it! Needless to say, I was surprised.

  • @mathislimitless Must be all the looney tunes he constantly watches. But yeah, Harley and Renee Montoya both started as B:TAS charas, before migrating to comics (and Montoya has even become more influential now *Was suprised when he looked her up*).

  • @Metool2 Montoya... oh, Officer Montoya, of course! I rather liked her in the animated series, she was one of the Gotham Police, correct? Doesn't she highly respect Batman, I remember the episode where Bats was thought to have died. As I recall, the news hit her like a brick. I also remember when she proved a great help to Batman during a drug bust (that was it, wasn't it?), I think she was the only cop that realized where it was taking place. I like her as much as Commissioner Gordon.

  • @Metool2 As far as Looney Tunes are concerned, I am as guilty as Joker for watching them too much, hah.
