TSONGA HAS ALL THE WEAPONS TO WIN A GS ITS ALL THERE HE NEEDS TO TAKE IT UP A GEAR OR 2 THOUGH WHEN GETS 2 THE QFS AND BEYOND HE HAS THE WEAPONS TENNIS IS ABOUT FRACTIONS IN THIS PARTICULAR ERA
@stiflerr003 He was just burnt out after US open with injuries. He pretty much played the most matches of the season reaching and winning the finals of nearly all of them.
@nacoManic i know the facts and the reasons... You can say that about any other top 4... They pretty much reach the semi in any masters or GS they played except maybe for Roger at wimby.
A season is 11 months not 8 months and djokovic was playing lolbad after the USO, not even worth top 10 player. Even with that, it is still the GOAT atp season i think
@stiflerr003 Well it's a tight schedule without much rest between tournaments reaching the finals is minimum. Reaching the semis gives you 1-2 days more rest than Djokovic/Nadal but even thats alot. Murray had a lot more rest early on had early round exits in the masters.
@nacoManic he didnt go to asia and had like a 1 month rest after the uso, so (maybe you can count Davis cup where he played like one set but meh)... Handling with the potential injuries and fatigue is part of the game. Djoko didnt handle that eventhough you can say he went through more stuff than the others. Still, the shitty schedule is part of the game imo. Roger is the goat at fatigue/schedule management.
the point and 0:14 and 1:52 are similiar the only thing is djokovic is faster and volley into open area. Tsonga isn't playing the same when he won Nadal in 2008
Djokovic serve was fucked up here, what a horrible motion he had back then. He also uses the slice and the dropshot very frequent here, today he uses them much more wisely and tactically. And also his movement and power is so much better now. But the remarkable thing is, even here, Djokovic is still a fantastic player.
It's truly remarkable how much Djokovic improved in 12 months. Nobody's unbeatable and his form will break eventually, but right now he's undoubtedly the best player in the world.
even if you dont watch a lot of tennis, u can still see the difference between the djokovic of tast year and the djokovic of this year, he wudve won in straight sets this year...
@apun94 Djokovic never beats Tsonga easily -- you must not watch tennis yourself -- Tsonga still holds the H2H record against him if I'm not mistaken. I do think Djokovic is playing much better, but Tsonga is infinitely more talented. He looks as if he isn't even trying, if he ever learns to focus WATCH OUT. This was his revenge for losing in the 08 Final to Djokovic.
@kmccary are you serious??? You really havent watched djokovic playing this year... Even if tsonga has an overall head to head against djokovic, djoker will dominate tsonga from now on. AND are you kidding me??? tsonga infinitely more talented??? REALLY???
@apun94 it's ok to be a Nole fan, I am too. But if you're a true tennis fan you should be reasonable. Tsonga has a better serve, forehand, and net game than Nole. Nole has a better backhand. The reason Nole is better is he has ALL of the intangibles, including heart. Since when does talent = results? I still say if Tsonga had the heart of Nole he'd have about 4 slams by now. Why say what the Djokovic of TODAY would do...that's the whole point, you play them when they're in your draw.
@tennisguyADNA If you have anything of substance to add to the discussion I'll be glad to listen, otherwise I don't debate with idiots who have no POV.
@kmccary okay, I apologize. I think djokovic is the 2nd most talented player (after federer). First of all I wouldn't look at H2H records anymore, since Rafa still has a leading record vs Nole despite being 0-6 this year. It's not just about heart, djokovic is much more consistent, smarter, faster, etc. and I think djokovic's forehand has more of a tendency to break down his opponents, whereas Tsonga just sometimes whacks aimlessly, w/o consistency. Tsonga has heart, but not as much talent.
@tennisguyADNA I agree H2H doesn't matter to what's happening today. I was just using it show that Tsonga can compete with Novak. Don't forget he was up a break in the first set in both Wimbledon and Montreal this year, but just couldn't serve it out, so he's blown some chances. But all the positive attributes you name of Novak have nothing to do with talent, they're all about hard work and intelligence. I still say the natural talent edge goes to Joe Willy.
@kmccary well for every year prior to this one, most pros in the top 30 could compete with novak... but this year novak showed his talent by beating tsonga at wimbledon. and you gotta admit djokovic's skill comes A LOT from his talent, not just solely hard work; he's just naturally good, as most #1s are. you might be right about jo's talent though, I just think he hasn't put that talent to the full potential, same story with gasquet. if tsonga can pull his act together, I see him easily in top5
@kmccary i m not a djokovic fan, i actually hate him for defeating nadal six times this year... however as a player i respect him deeply. First of all...How can you say that tsonga is more talented? tsonga has a better serve but nole's forehand and backhand are, right now, one of the best in the world... tsonga's forehand is sometimes very explosive but is also very inconsistent... you maybe right that tsonga is more talented, but that talent is of absolutely no use if he cant produce results..
@apun94 I think you're being kinda hard on Tsonga. The guy will probably be Top 5 by the end of the year (hes #7 now, but Soderling and Ferrer are hurt). Consider the four players in front of him, and you can see how good he is playing now. Also he's the only player who has beaten each of the big 4 players in a Grand Slam. He has a GS Final and 2 GS Semi-Final appearances and 9 ATP titles. You don't call that results?
@kmccary you are right to say that tsonga has played wll, but if you say that he has a better forehand, serve and net play than djokovic, he shud be have won much more... however i do believe that he is playing very very gud at the moment, but heres the thing, had soderling and ferrer not been injured tsonga wudnt have made it top 5. i mo not saying that tsonga's not a gud player, hes great but just hasnt performed as is expected of him so far...
@apun94 We can't be sure about Djokovic dominating Tsonga from now on. Tsonga has the ability to beat Djokovic even when Djokovic is playing well, and vice versa. Their games match up well, as evidenced by the matches they have played.
@apun94 kmccary is, technically speaking, not incorrect by saying Tsonga is more talented. Tsonga has a more rounded game than Djokovic, though both favour the baseline. You have to admit Tsonga is WAY better than Djokovic at the net. True, the Sjokovic of today would win, but that's not today's Djokovic.
@apun94 he's not gonnna dominate tsonga next year. All their matches were very close and djokovic's style fits Tsonga. Also djokovic might break down under the pressure of having to defend so incredibly many points until september basically. And Tsonga's been playing really well lately at the world tour finals reaching the final.
@apun94 actually tsonga is more talented. he is also more likeable and better to watch. plus he doesnt do that irritating ball bounce that novak does. just serve, for gods sake.Tsonga is so much more interesting and djokovic had 1 great year and everyone's suddenly a djokovic fan. I mean,he will never be as great as federer or nadal. plus he wont finish 2012 at number one. that's a guarantee
@kmccary He deffo isnt infinitely more talented as you so eloquently put it, but perhaps marginally. So you are saying if tsonga learns to focus he can achieve what djoko has and then some? I believe the way that Tsonga plays when he is reaching lights out tennis he can't sustain it for as nearly as long as the big 4 can or as consistently. I'm not sure if Tsonga even with better conditioning, focus and mental strength will get close to emulating Novak's achievements but he should be top5/6 imo
@nacoManic not really, ppl say too easily how good federer was during those times but they forget that his best competition then was someone called roddick lol. we all saw what happened to his greatness when only one year later in 2008 nadal won everything there was to win. conclusion: a prime nadal beats a prime federer but a prime djokovic beats a prime nadal.
@thisnamealsotaken Yes I can see what you mean however, if you watch some Federer matches during the US open 2011, you can definitely see his own consistency has declined compared to before. Seeing the close match between them this year suggests a 06/07 Fed would've had a better chance.
Prime Nadal does beat Prime Fed and Prime Djokovic does beat Prime Nadal but in Djokovic - Federer match up, I think it is in Federer's favour. It's just theory though impossible to know.
@nacoManic u say thats cus of his consistency but thats not true cus when u play roddick its wayyyy easier to be consistent than to play a djokovic or a nadal. u can be as consistent as u want but if the other dude hits the ball better than u do then its done (see the nalbandian matches against fed in his so called prime yrs).
if prime nadal is better than prime fed and a prime djoker is better than a prime nadal then how can a prime djoker not be better than a prime fed?
@thisnamealsotaken Matchups, the reason Nadal always has the edge on Federer is because massive top spin forehand to Federer's one handed backhand. If you watch some London 2010/2011 matches Federer has beaten him because it's less effective on that fast surface.
Anyway with what I said about consistency, I didnt just talk about the Federer vs Djokovic match, look at all his match statistics from the event and you'll see the enourmous about of UE he was making.
@nacoManic again those are 2 bogus reasons fed fans always use whenever he loses. so because he has a one handed backhand, its a valid reason for his loss and means that his losses against nadal don't count or count less?? cmon guys, I'm tired of these excuses fed fans always make, once i even heard he loses to nadal cus he has kids now and they keep him awake at night loll. in any sports its very simple; if both players are playing and are not at home injured, the result is 100% fair.
@nacoManic im not putting words in ur mouth, the core 2 reasons u bring to the table are just not valid. like i said to the blind moron here; the only thing that counts is the result. if we gonna count in 1001 other things, then my friend god help us. i do agree with u in the fact that its obvious that nadal is better than fed but its hard to make the same case for joker. problem is that if joker manages to beat the all time record, then he will be seen as goat, hence better than fed as well.
@thisnamealsotaken You're wrong here. Not only results that count, but also how they achieve it. Nadal has been injured way too much to be considered the best, i don't know how many times, FO09,knee,Wimb09,knee, USO 09, abs, AO 10, knee, etc. That's pretty ridiculous. From my perspective, if you win but get yourself injured, you still have failed. Think about it, Fed=lots GS no injuries, Nadal=lots GS and injuries, Djoko=not many GS and injuries. I think djoko/fed are better
@Gunthix209 no I'm not, and I'm actually tired of defending that dude. general rule of thumb is that the most hated one is the best one, so i actually can understand it now. and ur reasoning is one of the most ridiculous ones i have ever heard, and trust me i heard some crazy ones (nadal plays ugly, nadal is doping, fed lost cus he got kids lol, fed lost cus it was dark, fed lost cus he had too many unf errors etc etc). like i said to keep it simple; only results count.
@thisnamealsotaken I don't hate Nadal, just saying he's not the best because he gets injured too often, not mastering the game like others do. And your reasoning of ''only results count'' is biased. Say Djoko has 20-0 victories on clay vs X, while X has 5-0 victories on grass vs Djoko for and overall 5-20, does it mean Djoko is the best by results? No, only means he's better on clay. Results, INJURIES, consistency, technique are facts you have to consider
@Gunthix209 hahahaha how is saying results count biased?? one would think the only thing thats not biased are results. ur problem is that the results of ur fave player are in danger so u look for other things to hold on to. iv said it many times to fed fans and ill say it again; let it go, if nadal surpasses him then thats his achievement he deserves, if not then all kudos to fed. but in the end the result is the only thing that matters, never forget that.
@nacoManic as for ur second reason; told u before that inconsistency (which is same as unfor errors) depends on ur opponent. if ur playing scrubs like roddick or philipoussis or gonzalez in a grand slam final its wayyy easier to be consistent than when playing multiple slam winners like djokovic or nadal.
don't know why but ppl just lovvve to hate on nadal, i agree the dude can be irritating at times but whenever he won he won it fair and square and whenever he lost he didn't have excuses.
@thisnamealsotaken And btw, Federer was also facing great players like Hewitt, Safin, Nalbandian, Ferrero, Blake, Kuerten, Coria, Davydenko etc... and those guys would give HARD times for Nadal (they already did in fact, not even in their prime) and Djokovic, for sure.
@thisnamealsotaken And a prime Djokovic just lost ine the french against a 30 years old Federer, remember? Federer was also one point away from winning the meeting in the us open... while he's far from his prime.
Tennis is about match up, so stating Djokovic would beat prime Federer because he can beat Nadal is totally stupid.
@thisnamealsotaken Federer won that much matches against Roddick (just like Nadal's game is a pain for Federer and Djokovic's a pain for Nadal) because of the match up, nobody else could beat Roddick that much. Just see, his head to head is positive against Djokovic and he always give hard times to Nadal, except one or two times. And Nadal absolutly didnt won everything in 2008...
@HornyGates i have been in debates against federer fans and they never went anywhere cus they are more blind than stevie wonder. so i didn't read ur 1200 reactions and I'm gonna have to respectfully thank u and not participate in another tube war with another fed fan. my new solution is the one the media and all experts have as well: if nadal beats feds record he will be the goat, if not the fed will be. if djok beats the record he will be the goat. its as simple as that.
@thisnamealsotaken Nadal can do it if Djokovic fail. Dont expect Djokovic to do it, since he need to make 3 consecutive calendar grand slam, or win 3 slam each year for 4 years at least...
@HornyGates u just keep revealing urself as a blind fed fan, esp with the sentence nadal can do it if djokovic fails loll. let it go dude, its just revolution: sampras was best, then came fed and became best, then came nadal and became best, now djokovic has arrived as the best. i was a big sampras fan but i let it go, u can't keep holding on to the past and nitpicking senseless shit just to be right in ur own view. the result is all that counts, remember that. cheers.
@thisnamealsotaken You're just talking about me while not knowing anything. About who I am, about for who I cheer etc... and man, lets state it. If Djokovic play like in 2011, Nadal wont be able to get over past him, nor will Federer by now.
@HornyGates like i said i know what type u are based on ur last gazillion reactions containing blind reasons, which is a trademark of fed fans. iv talked with many fans and none are as blind and one sided as federers. for example a joker fan will admit when he lost fair and square but a fed fan (just like fed himself) comes up with 1001 excuses or just cries lol. u should be kissing djokovic feet yes cus if it wasn't for him nadal would have 13 slams instead of 10 by now, 13 is scarier isn't it.
@thisnamealsotaken Looking at you, I can tell you're a typical Fed hater, seeing bad things everywhere as soon as its related to the Swiss. Nothing but a little hater behind his computer.
@nacoManic i am a true tennis fan and i do consider match ups but his reasons are the usual blind fed fan reasons so i can't count those I'm sorry. fed fans need to accept that nadal was a way worse player in the early yrs (2005-2007) but when he hit his prime (from 2007 on) he became a better player than fed. but I'm still fair, if nadal doesn't break feds record then i will be the first to say fed is better. but if he does then how the hell can one still claim fed is better??
@thisnamealsotaken Fed also become worse from 2008 on when Nadal became number one. Fed, Murray and Djoko weren't in their prime when Nadal started playing better.
God I love his celebration

@nacoManic again those are 2 bogus reasons fed fans always use whenever he loses. so because he has a one handed backhand, its a valid reason for his loss and means that his losses against nadal don't count or count less?? cmon guys, I'm tired of these excuses fed fans always make, once i even heard he loses to nadal cus he has kids now and they keep him awake at night loll. in any sports its very simple; if both players are playing and are not at home injured, the result is 100% fair.
thisnamealsotaken 2 months ago
@thisnamealsotaken Mate don't puts words in my mouth and then start arguing about it.
I'm saying why Nadal beats prime Fed not making excuses about it.
Can Djokovic exploit FEderer's weaknesses liike Nadal can? No.
Just because A>B B>C doesnt mean A>C.
In tennis there are so many factors to consider it's not as simple as that.
Do you read what I said? I said even when Federer was playing lesser opponents (1R/2R) his UE was still high.
nacoManic 1 month ago
@nacoManic im not putting words in ur mouth, the core 2 reasons u bring to the table are just not valid. like i said to the blind moron here; the only thing that counts is the result. if we gonna count in 1001 other things, then my friend god help us. i do agree with u in the fact that its obvious that nadal is better than fed but its hard to make the same case for joker. problem is that if joker manages to beat the all time record, then he will be seen as goat, hence better than fed as well.
thisnamealsotaken 1 month ago
@thisnamealsotaken You're wrong here. Not only results that count, but also how they achieve it. Nadal has been injured way too much to be considered the best, i don't know how many times, FO09,knee,Wimb09,knee, USO 09, abs, AO 10, knee, etc. That's pretty ridiculous. From my perspective, if you win but get yourself injured, you still have failed. Think about it, Fed=lots GS no injuries, Nadal=lots GS and injuries, Djoko=not many GS and injuries. I think djoko/fed are better
Gunthix209 1 month ago
@Gunthix209 no I'm not, and I'm actually tired of defending that dude. general rule of thumb is that the most hated one is the best one, so i actually can understand it now. and ur reasoning is one of the most ridiculous ones i have ever heard, and trust me i heard some crazy ones (nadal plays ugly, nadal is doping, fed lost cus he got kids lol, fed lost cus it was dark, fed lost cus he had too many unf errors etc etc). like i said to keep it simple; only results count.
thisnamealsotaken 1 month ago
@thisnamealsotaken you actually blocked me for having another opinion? Truth hurts he, pathetic fanboy.
Stylaz21 1 month ago
@thisnamealsotaken I don't hate Nadal, just saying he's not the best because he gets injured too often, not mastering the game like others do. And your reasoning of ''only results count'' is biased. Say Djoko has 20-0 victories on clay vs X, while X has 5-0 victories on grass vs Djoko for and overall 5-20, does it mean Djoko is the best by results? No, only means he's better on clay. Results, INJURIES, consistency, technique are facts you have to consider
Gunthix209 1 month ago
@Gunthix209 hahahaha how is saying results count biased?? one would think the only thing thats not biased are results. ur problem is that the results of ur fave player are in danger so u look for other things to hold on to. iv said it many times to fed fans and ill say it again; let it go, if nadal surpasses him then thats his achievement he deserves, if not then all kudos to fed. but in the end the result is the only thing that matters, never forget that.
thisnamealsotaken 1 month ago
@nacoManic as for ur second reason; told u before that inconsistency (which is same as unfor errors) depends on ur opponent. if ur playing scrubs like roddick or philipoussis or gonzalez in a grand slam final its wayyy easier to be consistent than when playing multiple slam winners like djokovic or nadal.
don't know why but ppl just lovvve to hate on nadal, i agree the dude can be irritating at times but whenever he won he won it fair and square and whenever he lost he didn't have excuses.
thisnamealsotaken 2 months ago
@thisnamealsotaken And btw, Federer was also facing great players like Hewitt, Safin, Nalbandian, Ferrero, Blake, Kuerten, Coria, Davydenko etc... and those guys would give HARD times for Nadal (they already did in fact, not even in their prime) and Djokovic, for sure.
Match up man, match up.
HornyGates 1 month ago
@thisnamealsotaken And a prime Djokovic just lost ine the french against a 30 years old Federer, remember? Federer was also one point away from winning the meeting in the us open... while he's far from his prime.
Tennis is about match up, so stating Djokovic would beat prime Federer because he can beat Nadal is totally stupid.
HornyGates 1 month ago
@thisnamealsotaken Federer won that much matches against Roddick (just like Nadal's game is a pain for Federer and Djokovic's a pain for Nadal) because of the match up, nobody else could beat Roddick that much. Just see, his head to head is positive against Djokovic and he always give hard times to Nadal, except one or two times. And Nadal absolutly didnt won everything in 2008...
HornyGates 1 month ago
@HornyGates i have been in debates against federer fans and they never went anywhere cus they are more blind than stevie wonder. so i didn't read ur 1200 reactions and I'm gonna have to respectfully thank u and not participate in another tube war with another fed fan. my new solution is the one the media and all experts have as well: if nadal beats feds record he will be the goat, if not the fed will be. if djok beats the record he will be the goat. its as simple as that.
thisnamealsotaken 1 month ago
@thisnamealsotaken Nadal can do it if Djokovic fail. Dont expect Djokovic to do it, since he need to make 3 consecutive calendar grand slam, or win 3 slam each year for 4 years at least...
HornyGates 1 month ago
@HornyGates u just keep revealing urself as a blind fed fan, esp with the sentence nadal can do it if djokovic fails loll. let it go dude, its just revolution: sampras was best, then came fed and became best, then came nadal and became best, now djokovic has arrived as the best. i was a big sampras fan but i let it go, u can't keep holding on to the past and nitpicking senseless shit just to be right in ur own view. the result is all that counts, remember that. cheers.
thisnamealsotaken 1 month ago
@thisnamealsotaken You're just talking about me while not knowing anything. About who I am, about for who I cheer etc... and man, lets state it. If Djokovic play like in 2011, Nadal wont be able to get over past him, nor will Federer by now.
HornyGates 1 month ago
@HornyGates like i said i know what type u are based on ur last gazillion reactions containing blind reasons, which is a trademark of fed fans. iv talked with many fans and none are as blind and one sided as federers. for example a joker fan will admit when he lost fair and square but a fed fan (just like fed himself) comes up with 1001 excuses or just cries lol. u should be kissing djokovic feet yes cus if it wasn't for him nadal would have 13 slams instead of 10 by now, 13 is scarier isn't it.
thisnamealsotaken 1 month ago
@thisnamealsotaken Looking at you, I can tell you're a typical Fed hater, seeing bad things everywhere as soon as its related to the Swiss. Nothing but a little hater behind his computer.
You're what I can say, a cliché, dear.
HornyGates 1 month ago
@HornyGates of course my love its always the other persons fault, never urs lol.
let it go and enjoy tennis, and next time don't mingle in other ppls convos.
thisnamealsotaken 1 month ago
@HornyGates Stop arguing with him. I saw it as a debate, he saw it as me making excuses for Federer when we weren't even talking about his losses.
thisnamealsotaken if you read this and if you are a tennis fan as I think you are, you should really acknowledge athing or two about match ups.
nacoManic 1 month ago
@nacoManic i am a true tennis fan and i do consider match ups but his reasons are the usual blind fed fan reasons so i can't count those I'm sorry. fed fans need to accept that nadal was a way worse player in the early yrs (2005-2007) but when he hit his prime (from 2007 on) he became a better player than fed. but I'm still fair, if nadal doesn't break feds record then i will be the first to say fed is better. but if he does then how the hell can one still claim fed is better??
thisnamealsotaken 1 month ago
@thisnamealsotaken Fed also become worse from 2008 on when Nadal became number one. Fed, Murray and Djoko weren't in their prime when Nadal started playing better.
Stylaz21 1 month ago
@thisnamealsotaken And you may consider you're the one whose blind, may be its the right answer also.
HornyGates 1 month ago
@andydufresne87 Federer could have beaten everyone if he was in his prime in 2011. See how your comment is invalid? Tsonga won and that's that.
