  • Im for Ron Paul but Dennis is an amazing man and I would vote for him if not Ron

  • Does anybody have the full interview of Steven and Kucinich? I think its soooo funny! Especially the part about Bush shrinking the Constitution!

  • Donate on December 15th. spread the word.

    december152007 . com

  • I just saw a video of the S.F. staw poll that really pissed me off. They canceled the poll when Ron Paul supporters showed up. Friggin amazing. When you Kucinich supports go to straw polls to support Dennis, make sure you bring your video cams. Watch this and send the SF GOP an e-mail.

    watch?v=j_GADQv3vKs

  • Go Dennis!

  • The corporate debates are not fair and balanced. I have yet to see Dennis be asked about his stands on health care. That question always go to Clinton and Edwards or someone else. If the debates were moderated by academia and were neutral Dennis would be ahead in the polls.

  • I hope everyone watching this will not only inform themselves on Dennis' policies, which are amazing, and not only vote for him, but encourage others to learn about him. HE IS ELECTABLE! Right now we can all subscibe to his You Tube account and encourage others to do the same. At the very least you'll learn a little more about a candidate not given fair media coverage!

  • Organize, unionize, and take back American.

Vote Kucinich for a living wage, national health care, and to hold corrupt republican responsible!!

    Peace!

  • Yes American union endorsement for Kucinich would have been a wonderful thing.

  • Check out Dennis on Democracy Now today!

Vote Kucinich in your state primary!

    Peace!

  • Check out Dennis today of CSPAN!

Impeach Cheney and stop another war!

  • Dennis you were great at the debate, and we are glad you are there!

    Keep up the good work!

  • Kucinich voted against giving George Bush authority to invade Iraq in 2002,voted against the Patriot Acts,NAFTA, and is against the war on drugs!!

Dennis is for a living wage and not for profit national health care!

Vote Kucinich in your state primary!

  • Corporations own the media, the government, and the workplace.

How could it not be exploitation?

Only when workers unionize and take their just slice of the pie will their not be exploitation.

Vote Dennis Kucinich for a living wage and not for profit health care. ROPdupe you guys control everything already why do you have to try and control this site as well?

  • How am I trying to control this site? Because I can talk you and your beliefs into a corner?

I worked in TV for 5 1/2 years. Non-Union. I understand the need for unions, what I despise is the mentality that if you have no ambition or are too lazy to learn how to achieve success you should still be entitled to earnings from those around you.

Stupid. You're only exploited to the extent that YOU LET someone exploit you. Grow a pair nowellian, and stop this pathetic victimhood.

  • If you want a good life, better yourself. Educate yourself. Learn how to manage your money, stay focused & work hard. If you're not ambitious enough to compete with the big boys then just accept your lot in life, and stop crying that the rest of us should pay to support you because of some false-construct that you're irreplaceble.

You are. Anyone can do a simple-minded job. Just walk up and ask an illegal immigrant.

  • ROPdude, I would have to say you are the one not listening.

Millions of ordinary jobs have to be done in order for our society to function.

The people in these jobs are fulfilling a vital function of our society, society would not exist without them.

The minimum wage needs to be raised to a living wage to end poverty. You are not an island, your wealth comes form this society and you are wrong to exploit the people who make it all possible.

    Peace! and have a heart!

  • When someone shows up to work, they've argeed it's an even trade: their labor in return for money= their personal property. There is no exploitation here.

If dems would stop assuming gov't will magically cure socitey's ills through taxation, and let these poor people keep more of their own paycheck, it wouldn't be such a struggle.

Raising minum wage only inflates the dollar and the taxes they pay.

I have a huge heart, but I also know when tough love is needed.

  • One more quick question: how many times have they had to raise minimum wage in the past 50 years?

    ... exactly.

  • With Kucinich in the White House and a democratic congress workers will have rights and hiring scabs will be illegal.

If you think grocery baggers make 6 figures you are crazy.

People who get their views from fox news are unbalanced!

  • *laughs*

Re-read what I said buddy. By the way, I hate Fox News with a passion.

Just because some Americans who work "ordinary jobs" are too ignorant to know or don't care about higher achievement, does not mean the rest of society should coddle them with tax paid benefits.

I'm not a neo-con war hawk, I hate Bush as well. But those of you out there who don't realize you're usurping economic liberty are just as dangerous.

  • dude if you want to be fascist that is your choice. If you think everyone can be rich you are crazy. There are a 100 million ordinary jobs that some one has to do for this country to continue. The people checking out at WalMart, or making car parts or what ever. This country will stop dead without the workers and those workers deserve a living wage with health care! Get real, or do you just think you are so much better that working people?

  • Of course I don't think I'm better than ANYONE, & the fact that you try to demonize me because believe in achievement is pitiful. If somone wants to work an ordinary job their whole life fine; but they deserve the opportunity for upward mobility if they choose. And there's NO reason those who want success should have to pay to support those who could careless about it.

  • By the way, the union for a grocery store chain where I live went on strike. Know what the company heads did? Hired illegal immigrants and temps. They kept their stores open throughout the entire strike, and the union had to compromise.

If somone feels entitled to make 6 figures with health insurance for bagging groceries, they're pitiful.

  • Wow ROPdude, Dennis Kucinich is a "real democrat", and is for Unions!

We need a unionized work force with good pay and benefits,,and a not for profit health care system for all Americans who can not afford health care! Peace!

    Medicaide for!

  • Quick lesson in American economic history: those who achieve in America understand you need to sacrifce, learn how to use money, keep educating yourself, and above all stay focused toward your goal.

Do surgeons, lawyers have unions? Is Wall Street unionized?

Does Bill Gates belong to a union? Robert Rodroguez & George Lucas LEFT their respective unions, yet Hollywood is constantly begging them to make movies for thier studios.

    You're ignorant. And it's okay.

  • The standard of living in this country today was won by years of struggle by workers and unions!

Free market Neocon types like you were beating and shooting workers in the streets as they struggled for:

    1. The 8 hour work day.

    2. Ending child labor/slave conditions.

    3. Unsafe work conditions.

    4. Paid holidays and vacations, or at least a day off work without being fired.

    5. Living wages for union jobs!

The struggle continues for working people. Vote Kucinich!

  • *laughs*

Okay, the fact that you actually called me a free market neocon, and believe that unions actually have a thing to do with the standard of living in this country tells me all I need to know about you.

Good god, I'm sorry your parents raised you this way.

    Good luck

  • Bush has been redistributing the wealth upward for 7 years now and he has practically bankrupted the country in the process.

You old school propaganda is illogical. Investing in people will build a stronger country and economy. The idea that we have to exploit people to build wealth is not only outdated it is also immoral.

Vote Kucinich for Peace and Justice!

  • Bush has been worse than any big spending democrat, no doubt about it.

My "old school propaganda" is the framework that was essential in giving you the standard of living you enjoy in this country today.

People have fought and died for it, for you to have these freedoms. You don't understand how important the system of economic liberty is; how it works.

And you're letting yourself be hoodwinked/guilted into sacrificing it not only for yourself but for the rest of us.

  • Did you see Dennis in the debate tonight? Awesome!

    Impeach! Impeach! Impeach!

    Go Dennis!!!

  • Dennis Kucinich is advocating a not for profit health care system.

The problem is the 100's of billions of dollars of profits going to insurance companies and hmo's. That money should be used for actual health care.

If anyone actually thinks this country can't afford national health care just think of the 100's billions being spend on Iraq, a complete waste of money!

Arguing with neocons who think money should be used for war not people is pointless.

  • Here in lies the complete perversion of logic: re-distributing wealth in a free market economy. Even amature economists would shudder at your post.

We're borrowing almost $2 million a day to fund the Iraq war.

    National healthcare?

Forget it. Since no one will change your mind with reason and logic, I'll just state that it's thinking like this that will eventually bankrupt our country.

I enjoy saying I told you so as much as anyone else.

  • One last comment ROPdude, on the "they'll be socialising everything else next" - presumably you'd like to see the opposite happen and schools privatised next? As one doctor said in "Sicko", "I wouldn't want to work in a system where we turned away people needing treatment because they were too poor or had the wrong insurance"

  • *laughs*

Don't get me started on that transparently biased diatribe. I know you guys love Moore, but take my word for it: he does anything but tell you the whole story.

By the way: there's tons of proof that we Americans have been dumbed down BECAUSE of our public school systems.

  • I know he doesn't tell the whole story, but I thought that his conclusions were less under dispute in this one than previous films. F911 was a political diatribe, but Sicko is much more about ethics and morality where I think there is much more common ground whichever party you follow. Have you watched the film? It is unethical to have the decision as to what treatment your dying family member gets made by a loss assessor who gets bonuses for declining that treatment.

  • You might not believe this, but I live and work in Hollywood. The Weinstein Company is one of my clients, and I help put the Sicko DVD together.

Anyway, yes I know that movie like the back of my hand!

  • Geologism1 I'm from the good old USA just like you. But I have been around enough to know that England has had SOCIALIZED MEDICINE since the 1940's and it would be politicial suicide for a politician in the UK to advocate getting rid of their socialized health care system.

Getting rid of socialized medecine in the UK would be like wanting to get rid of our interstate highway system it just would not fly.

    Vote Kucinich!

  • ...and I apologize if I offended anyone.

Kudos to DK for nabbing a good-looking wife that is willing to participate enthusiastically for his cause. Most men are not so lucky to have a wife so jazzed up about what they do. Unfortunately, it's neobolshevism on the road to a new-world socialist order, but thankfully, we can still legally express our political viewpoints under the First Amendment.

    May God bless America!

  • Most unfortunately for us, most Americans (especially today's democrats) don't understand how the system of economic liberty in this country gave us the standard of living we enjoy / take for granted. The fact that we're even talking about socializing medicine is sound proof.

Oh well. America was fun while it lasted.

  • Socialized medicine works all over the civilized world, ROPdude, why shouldn't it work in the US?

  • Socialized medicine exists over most of the civilized world through extraordinary taxation, and it does not perform very well. Social welfare states tax up to 50 to 60% of income to provide health care, and other programs, to citizens.

Socialized medicine is the carrot dangling in front of the nose of politically ignorant potential voters to persuade them to elect socialists. Socialist political power is proportional to the extent that the population becomes dependent on the government.

  • 1) I don't pay 50% taxes for my healthcare.

    2) I don't pay anything when I go to hospital.

    3) Both socialists and non-socialists support the socialised healthcare system here. Any party that suggested dismantling it would lose votes.

Corporate greed and political corruption provides americans with a system that incentivises those responsible for determining treatments to decline those treatments, while those same citizens spend more on healthcare than most other countries.

  • Since it's been institutionalized in your country for decades, of course no one will dismantle it. You all depend on it, it's become your countries norm.

You do however pay much more in taxes, don't have the same amount of choices, nor the same kind of freedom to choose what type of care to get.

I completely agree about the corruption, but there's a reason people come from all over the world to get treatment in the U.S.

  • "You all depend on it, it's become your countries norm." - and families having to get out a begging bowl to get their loved ones life-saving treatment for cancer is your country's norm. The only reason this is the case is that enough people have been persuaded that systems that work all over the rest of the world (in poorer countries than the US) would never work in the US. Why?

  • Whew! Thanks for your response here, mi1house. It's all very cool.

Truth be told, "getting out the begging bowl" actually isn't this countries norm.

It limits our choices, our freedoms to choose. Our system certainly needs fixing, but at the same time has just as many innovations in medicine than anywhere around the world.

  • I agree that lots of medical innovations come out of America, but is no thanks to the insurance companies. As long as patents are protected drugs and medical technology companies have an incentive to innovate, and a socialised healthcare system doesn't extend to governments owning pharma companies (although being a near-monopsony helps to keep downward pressure on prices against companies in a powerful position)

  • I completely agree about health insurance companies. I'd like to see them disappear, myself.

They're like "the middle man"; and these days doctors don't know if they're going to get paid & patients don't know if they'll be covered.

I'd like to see us have a third option, and independant savings account that we can keep for our own use on these matters.

I'm dreaming though; Americans don't like all of that responsibility.

  • That's Ron Paul's suggestion. What I don't get is what happens if your medical savings plan doesn't cover the treatment you need?

  • Re-establishing a doctor / patient relationship gives the option for both parties to negotiate the cost of any given treatment. Plus, will stand as competition for the corporations that have inflated prices so much.

  • And if we Socialze medicine in the US, that's 15% of the entire economy. Once that door is opened, surely more "free socialized things" will follow.

People are too lazy or just down right incompetant to function in a free society. Or, the democrats try to guilt us into believing we should depend on government "for the greater good."

Forget individual rights, achievement, or responsibility. That's exactly where this country is going due in large part to this kind of nonsense.

  • And we do pay more taxes than you, but less of our National Income is spent on healthcare. There are no insurance companies involved in the NHS, so no profit motive and every penny goes towards healthcare. People can still choose to get insurance for better healthcare (the system isn't perfect) but most find the NHS sufficient.

  • Every fiscal year, billions, not millions, but billions of tax dollars go undeclared. Meaning we pay our taxes, the money goes into the government... then disappears. Literally.

No one in their right mind would depend on our government to sustain the medical bill for 300 million people year after year, decade after decade.

  • Agreed on the first paragraph. On the second one, the more people you're covering, the more are paying into the system. I'd trust the government to allocate the health budget more than insurance companies. Especially if you can get the diagnosis and treatment decisions made independently of those paying the bill.

  • If the poor can't pay for insurance, they're certainly not going to able to pay into the system (at least as much). That could cause even more resentment between us, as the working men & women, and the wealthy have to support them even more.

I'm still hoping for the third option I mentioned in the first reply.

  • But if it comes out of general taxation then everyone pays if they earn. I don't resent people getting healthcare whether or not thay've paid in, as long as the pot is big enough to cover everyone. Look at the individual cases in Sicko and say which one's you'd turn away from the hospital?

  • I understand where you're coming from, of course this country is a lot bigger than yours; its much more complicated in keeping the pot big enough for everyone.

Most States already have state-funded healthcare. Here in California (los angeles county), about $7.5 billion ends up paying for illegal immigrants.

  • "Socialized medicine exists over most of the civilized world through extraordinary taxation, and it does not perform very well" - please explain how it doesn't work very well? Particularly, how its worse than a system that sees hundreds of thousands being refused vital treatments in the interests of profit?

  • What has happened in America is actually a subtle form of fascism: Gov't in bed with health insurance companies. I'm not sure where you've read that "hundreds of thousands" are being refused; that's way blown out of porportion.

Generally, in socialized medicine, the standards are lower, less choices, availibilty. Some countries do it better than others. The best way is have a personal doctor patient relationship.

  • I made that estimate myself. I've no idea how accurate it is, and I'm not that bothered. If it's 1000 people, that's still a worry. If 50m Americans have no insurance, and lots of others have their treatments declined, then healthcare is likely to be underprovided. My American in-laws have worse teeth than me because they don't go to the dentist as often as they should because they couldn't afford to.

  • Sorry to hear that. Again, I agree that the health insurance companies are dispicable. This country's government was designed to repair itself: we need to return to the way it was before things changed in the 1970's, not implement a system that warps our individual rights.

But unfortunately the ethic of self-reliance has been lost on us as Americans.

We'll see what happens in 2008. I just want Bush out!

  • i like ron paul, mccain, and gore. kucinich is too strong for gay rights

  • Kucinich is the only real choice for me!

The media has already elected Clinton, and she is not much better than Bush. She will just continue his wars and keep redistributing the wealth to the rich people who put her in office. Just like Bush!

  • How does his daughter have a British accent?

  • No Geologism1, he's not from the mountains, are you? Just pretty popular with beautiful women. I know, I'm very jealous too, but its best just to get over it and see him for the great candidate he is. Maybe it's the maturity that makes him so appealing?

  • What do mountains, beautiful women, or jealousy have to do with my question? I'm not sure if you are even responding to my comment. I am just curious as to how his daughter has a British accent.

  • Dear Geologism, Elizabeth Kucinich is the wife of Dennis Kucinich. Thank you for your query.

    DK'08!

  • Geologism1,if people don't react well the first time you tell a joke, repeating it isn't as good an idea as it might seem to you. It isn't funny to keep pretending you know nothing about presidential candidates you watch on Youtube and so just have to keep asserting foolish misconceptions about their families.

  • Actually, Miss Manners, I honestly mistook DK's wife for his daughter, and when I looked up DK on Wikipedia, I realized I was mistaken. Dutchoven, I appreciate your brief objective reply. Thank you.

queny, please excuse me if I need sensitivity training. Can you give me a referral?

  • Completely plausible explanation Geologism1. You realized as you say only when you looked up the Wiki. That being the case, I of course must apologise unreservedly.

  • Yeah Kucinich! Don't let the media decide your candidates!!!

  • in WI there is "open primaries" so even a republican can vote for Kucinich (but then they can't vote for any other republican on the primary ballot).

    Kucinich 2008

  • I like Ron's strength better and campaign abilities. I like Dennis personality! I wish his campaign had more momentum. May be he should do a 50 state tour to raise visability and chatter. I don't know why the other lesser known candidates has not used this tactic.

  • To ALL:

This weeks, Kucinich Campaign update 10-22-07, has Dennis Kucinich meeting with musician, Michael Franti, and has Dennis Kucinich, as I have heard him say it before, with Michael Franti, the musician who wrote the song, 'Bomb the World', repeat the famous line from that song, "You can Bomb the World to pieces, but you can't Bomb it into PEACE".

By the way I have Posted a video of that song, Bomb the World, sung by Michael Franti, in the Video Response Section.

    Get Involved Now

  • XD Kucinich rules! If he can bring out tea for Colbert from his citizen coat just imagine what he can do with a president one.

I want a copy of that book. It would be so useful for american history courses plus it makes good conversation piece (Every bit helps.) especially with Kucinich signature in it because people would want to ask questions about him. Knowledge is improtant, especially this coming election.

  • You have my vote Dennis, whether you get the nomination or not, I'll write you in.

  • Hmmmm.....I think I like this guy slightly better than Ron Paul. I gave money to Ron Paul but I fear his "Freedoms" will lead to more corporate abuse. You see the playing field IS NOT FAIR RIGHT NOW. Heavy regulations need to be re-instated to get back to pre-Reagan anti-trust laws. Less regulation will only mean more Wal-Marts....Sorry Paulies!

  • What's wrong with Wal-Mart? :( I don't know about other areas of the state... I do know the Wal-mart around here actually is beneficial for us. We still have mom and pop stores. Sorry no matter how big and strong Wal-mart will get people will always go to the mall,Home Depot, family owned 99 cent stores, the man who sells churros, drinks, fruit and flowers

  • and the list can go on and on. The place people really have to worry about is eBay. EBay will pwned everyone at the end for them even lower prices.

  • Nothing to worry about. Most people want to feel and touch an expensive product before purchasing.

  • Their are exceptions but the vast majority of Wal-Marts decimate local businesses. They are predators in their appetite for prime real estate and pay their workers crap. It's emblematic of a business model that has been adopted by most major corporations. This results in slave labor in both America and China!

  • Strength through peace!

  • no one but

    Dennis Kucinich 2008!

  • ALOHA and HAPPY BIRTHDAY Elizabeth!!

I look forward to meeting you again, if not in Hawaii, then on Jan 20, 2009 at Dennis' "sweaing in" as our next President!!

    Re-elect Kucinich 2012!!!

  • WAY WRONG!! Ron Paul doesn't even come close to Dennis! WHY do you Ron Paul supporters seem to think Kucinich supporters would switch to Paul?? Other than the war in Iraq, they are almost completely opposite on all the issues! Ron Paul is a Liber-publican!

  • Switch to R.P.?Let me think...R.P. is against U.S. military adventuring around the globe. That's a good thing...Unfortunately,he is also a religious fundamentalist that yearns for the dominance of "christian" rights and "values" over the rights of the state and anyone that doesn't buy into his vision of the world.Hmmmm...Swithch to R.P.?...I don't think so.

  • Good sir,Ron Paul is not a religious fundamentalist. I invite you to get to know him better but....if you vote for the big K man:)

I wish your candidate the very best(ya picked a good one..if I may be so bold as to say so)

    Sig

Go Dennis!! We NEED you to take us through this upcoming evolution of consciousness! Change the thinking of all and help to unite the world with Peace and Love.

    Kucinich '08!!

  • Happy Birthday, Elizabeth! Hope you spend the one in 2 years time in the White House!

  • ♥

This man, Congressman Dennis Kucinich, supported by, Stephen Colbert, Michael Franti; and most importantly, 'YOU', you who know, know that he is the one who is able to be a President, unifying the people of America, and the World.

You know this life is meant for, Life Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness; which Presidential Candidate do you know that most truly wants that to happen?

Dennis, a visionary of a governance, of by and for the people!

    ♥

    Light up America!!!!!!!

  • Indeed!

  • This is a great idea. If the media is afraid to cover Dennis, just start your own program.

Also, happy birthday, Elizabeth! Maybe you can run for office yourself one day. We'll work on allowing foreign-born citizens to become president in the meanwhile...

  • Good job putting together the concert footage so quickly. Interesting choice not to post the San Mateo straw poll results. I thought it notable that Kucinich came in second, in front of Hillary and Obama, even if Edwards came in first. I still think the opening pan feels a bit long, though it's appropriate to have a title card of some sort. I also still think these shows would benefit from lower thirds.

  • I didn't hear about this. Where is it posted?

I believe the Dennis is actually in the low teens but it's still needs help to get him to the top position where he belongs.

  • We need a President like Dennis Kucinich. He knows what our rights are, and how they have been violated by Bush. Dennis will get us out of IRAQ and is for a single payer healthcare plan. You do not hear statements like these from other Democratic canidates

  • These updates are great!! Happy Birthday Elizabeth!!!

  • Happy birthday, Elizabeth!

  • I like news reporter, but is she fair and balanced.
