Title should be: "Cops, Donuts, and Murder." This is a book that establishes proof beyond a reasonable doubt that cops crave donuts. Get a copy and see how the stories are simular.

He kills because he feels it his moral duty. From a utilitarian sense, he also achieves the greatest common good by taking killers out of society. From nearly every ethical standpoint, arguing against Dexter is futile. Not too massive of a moral argument to me.
