I think everyone agrees that 9/11 was very tragic, there is no doubt.But 3000 dead Americans is just a drop in the water compared to all the innocent civilians the US Army has killed in the last century - that's how people on the outside see this. Think of that, then you'll see how insignificant 9/11 was. It's nothing.
All wars have their civilian casualties, and many, MANY of the civilian deaths in Afghanistan, Iraq, etc. are the work of the Taliban (although there is no doubt the war makes it worse). This was, at the time, a largely unprovoked attack out of the blue on a civilian population, and no country is perfect at preventing civilian casualties.
Our army has one of the most stringent return-fire protocols. If they can't spot the shooter, they can't return fire.

You know what's crazy. You could be like "oh man I can't remember what day of the week my bday was on last year", but I remember crystal clear, without looking it up or anyone telling me, that 9/11 happened on a Tuesday, even though it was nearly 10 years ago. one of the biggest misconceptions 9/11 truthers have is that piece of disinfo from FEMA that the core of the towers was a multiple steel column design. The core was a giant rectangular pillar of concrete pulverized by C4 built into the design. They were designed to be destroyed!
