Except that control cannot keep up continuous motion above 47ipm. It would be banging the table around and ruin the finish. Besides, max feedrate isn't very high on this vintage. I ran 50ipm and the material moved around too much and gave results that were unsatisfactory.

I'd suggest that you increase your feeds by about 1000% (not 100% BTW).
This stuff machines like butter and you should be able to run 100-300ipm easily.
