  • Karate was young in 1964?

  • @rossjharvey It was relatively hard to find a school (good or bad) in the boondocks, at least in the U.S. Teachers/competitors from that era tend to be called "pioneers." In retrospect, a lot of them got away with pretending to know more than you can learn, say, after a year or so on Okinawa.

  • this looks awesome and I am looking forward to it being completed! What an interesting story, growing up reading comics, and older comics, I recognize those ads, and how interesting to hear about the man in them. If you don't mind me asking, where he is he buried?

  • he was larger than life!!!!

  • i think dim mak is something like or from what bruce lee had with regard to his one inch punch. they say the one inch punch can, through vibrations or some kind of force, cause injury to internal organs if the victim doesn't have padding or enough muscle to protect. something to do with chi, they say. all i know is b. lee really could put a man on his ass with a one inch kind of punch-twitch. heard a pan am gold medalist in judo talk about bruce hitting him so hard he bounced off a wall & fell.

  • if true, then it sounds like he got whacked by greedy associates involved in the bank robbery--probably some mob in there...kind of like the good fellows movie when jimmy conway, all of a sudden, started whackin' everybody. so much for dim mak.

  • Btw what an asshole

  • He doesn't drink beer, but when he does, he drinks Dos Equis.

  • He Learned Dim Mak or meaning Touch of Death.

  • Sugoi

  • Mr Schism. If you would like to invest, please feel free. Or donate, let me know. Every little bit helps and the hold-up is always money. :-)

  • When is this guy gonna FINISH this documentary! He's been working on it for years. I used to write him, occasionally, asking when it will be finished. What's the deal? He's got some nice ceans, but what's happening? I heard there was something about a suit against him [?]

  • @schism4291 Law suit is over. I am finishing.

  • we've got a medical emergency!

  • "black dragon fighting society" it all makes sense now.

  • Black Dragon Fighting Society is all I have to say :)

  • Killjoys, make some noise!

  • thanks dr death. very interesting.

  • LOOK ALIVEE SUNSHINE!!

  • Like if Dr. DeathDefying send you here!

  • The man was born into money and yet decided to spend his life with the poor. Teaching the arts to Whites,Blacks, Hispanics and anyone who was willing to learn ( something that wasn't allowed to be done) at least not the stuff he was teaching. No, I'm not talking that sugar coated, candy ass Tae Kwon Do BS. He was teaching stuff that has been outlawed in the east. Read up on the man or ask anyone who met him or his students they weren't allowed in tournaments there shit was deadly.

  • Perhaps the new MMA generation sees him as a joke but he was a real MMA fighter who challenged the big boys of the day Bruce, Chuck & Ali no of which accepted for fear that they would loose fans if they lost the match. Oh and BTW Sensei Dante was trained in multiple arts Holding a black belt in Juijutsu and various forms of eastern fighting arts. He was born rich joined the Marine Reserve then the Army during that time he studied abroad. Was he deadly?? Well I'd say yes!!! So would your parents.

  • I trip out. Hercule Satan from DragonBallZ is based off of Count Dante.

  • i have one of his books handed down to me from my dad =D it has some interesting stuff in it.

  • Mob connections, thats classic.

  • How can he call himself the deadliest man alive if he didn't even kill anyone? Anyone who has killed a single person is deadlier, not to mention serial killers and soldiers who have fought in wars.

  • OMG!! I remember those comic book ads!!

  • And its a wonder how sociopathic idiots like Radford Davis a.k.a. Ashida Kim were born!

  • chuck liddell and ken shamrock in a street fight would probably resort to drugs such as steroids or cocain...

ppl u never know with who ur messing with...the deadliest live in silence, they don't step up in the ring and make love with panties on, rubing on other men

  • MMA JOKE

    KARATE JOKE

    ALL JOKE

I only know kung fu as the only truth

  • dim mak is that bullshit haha, i challenged that master ashima and supposably he actually accepted it, so u might see his old ass in a mma fight with me every1, n im dead serious to. i really layed out a challenge and i was told when and where, i told him street fight or cage fight his choice

  • cool

  • No one is 100% good or bad. Whenever you look into a controversial person's past you are bound to find a life full of complications and contradictions.

  • @chuckywoodstudios

Sorry to tell you, but you cannot kill a bull with one punch. you should probably stop watching martial arts movies and start practicing a martial art.

also he may have been a very good fighter, calling him the deadliest man in the world is just ignorant. especially since it was a self-proclaimed nickname.

  • *shivers* Dim Mok style is disturbing. Not everyone can learn it, and frankly I find it to be really evil.

  • @Jyrow dim mak is not a style dim mak is a move that means touch of death aka vibrating palm or whatever you want to call it

the only fighting style i know that concentrates on nerve strikes is kyusho-jitsu

  • Count Dante = cheap and obvious fraud; end of story.

  • i think bruce lee wuldve owned chuck liddell

  • "He is still one of the most contraversial figures in history of martial arts today"

This is the first time I heard of this guy lol

  • @speechclasstaipei yea i think the only time bruce has proven himself was at longbeach california during a shotokan exhibition the man had strength and speed. but then again as he quoted "boards don't hit back"

  • @speechclasstaipei

It was kind of a joke, but okay.

  • that english chick was FreAkY , the dude too...

  • Huh? A hairdresser? Ew

  • The "deadest" man alive...

  • Comment removed

  • Be that as it may, Chuck Norris can beat them all.

  • i got me foam nunchuckas

  • @smokethepancakes

    do you make pancakes?

  • @kungfudoggie yep on shrove tuesday

  • His student probably died using his self defense techniques against a sharp weapon XD.

  • That is so cool- I payed my money and became part of the "Black Dragon" society and became one of the most deadly teens on earth (LOL). I wish I still had that card. I had forgotten about Count Dante until I saw this video.

  • Count Dante was no joke. He was the first man to promote what we call ultimate fighting championships today - no holds barred, no rules, fight to the death if so be it. He called all the martial artists out to put aside the rules of their silly dancing contests and see what you've got in a real fight. Muhammad Ali wanted no part of him. And Bruce Lee sure didn't challenge him. Below the layers of glitz and glamor and Hollywood stardom, lay a great martial arts master and advertising genius.

  • @reikwai You are correct, Count Dante was no joke. He was making a martial arts movie back in the 70's and was suppose to pull his punches during the fight scence but refused and several real good stunt men were badly injured. Dante was fired because he refused to pull his punches. I was heavily into martial arts during the 70's.

  • @reikwai because they were afraid they might hurt mr. keehan?

  • Cobra Kai before there was Cobra Kai!!!

  • @WatchVenusSpa thats funny because the cobra kai sensei in the original karate kid was a student of count dante's

  • it's Mr. Satan!

  • @marcelthemaoist

Hahahahahaha.. hilarious.. you're right he does look like Mr. Satan

  • Comment removed

  • @007Mechanix he is Mr Satan, or at least Mr Satan's Character was created from him

  • I'd like to see some footage of Count Dante in action as well as some more insight into the fatality suffered by his student that died in his dojo as you mention.

  • Is there anyway to still learn the ways of the black dragon society? Im 15 and the martial arts i was in didnt intrigue me. I was in that for just under 6 years. Please reply to this message because i am interesting in maybe getting a book, instruction manual, or anything like that.

  • @GagaIsMyFlameWar You should try Bagua or Xingyi, one of the Chinese arts. That is where Dante went after Karate and got his Dim Mak training.

  • @GagaIsMyFlameWar Study some Chinese martial arts.

  • Fascinating.... Is this all the info you could find on Count Dante? I'd like more stock footage of his training if there is any.

  • @mfaries42 i got lots more!

  • I wasted three minutes of my life watching this... yawn!!!!!!

  • @rockhefster shall I get you a pillow?

  • I remember the comic book ads from when I was a kid back in the 60's. I bought the book World's Deadliest Fighting Secrets. Guess what, I still own it.

  • @darryldddd wow, now that is useful to know seriously. I am looking for people who still have the book.

  • Practice the art of Can-Do,

then you'll find you can do anything! :)

  • Awesome, I practice it from now on!

  • This bloke challenged Ali?

  • @ozzsihing Challenging Ali is really very easy. Watch. "Hey Ali, I challenge you." See? Beating Ali, that may have proved a more difficult task ;-)

  • oh yeah the "death touch" does exist; however it involves intense discipline regarding chi circulation, and knowledge of accupuncture. Dissabling an opponent by disrupting their chi, is a skill usually taught only to martial artists who practice medicine. However you can not kill somebody simply by striking a specific point; if the dude is much bigger than you, you only succeed in pissing him off, the "pressure point" won't work if you do not know how to circulate chi.

  • there is no 'death touch' dude. It's marketing and people make money off of this. Chi - accupuncture - it's pseudoscience as our pressure points

  • oh there is; I was just pointing that I have serious doubts, anyone in north america, actually, ANYWHERE outside of China, knows it. Its all about the tactile disruption of the chi meridians; the same skills Chinese doctors use to heal people, can also be used for killing.

  • you're right though; people claiming that garbage here in America are obviously frauds. In China, people who can REALLY do it, are generally private about it, know why? Powerful criminal bosses, and corrupt politicians in China, are scared to death of "death touch" adepts, if anyone is found to RELIABLY be able to do it, "traditionally" in China such people were hunted down and killed. People who posses that skill, don't go around broadcasting it.

  • dont relie on martial art mythology.

real martial artists will tell you that its not an art at all, and has been to romanticized,

people like frank mir, st. pierre, lyoto machida, anderson silva, and other mma fighters, are the ture masters, if you cannot use it practically, you cannot use it.

  • @pillsburydoughboy47 pressed thumb wrong i do agree, you are clear and true, thank you

  • @pillsburydoughboy47 I know how to circulate chi. would i use chi with a positive or negative charge to disrupt their flow? or would i drain their chi or what?

  • no fucking idea; a positive or negative charge is rooted in the gravitational force already inherent within an object, that is, its a "consequence" of the behavior of those particles. Asuming chi is some form of manipulation of the earth's magnetic field I suppose it would have to do with the charge on the other person's body, and knowing what that charge is I would imagine would take training.

  • ultimately though I have no fucking idea dude; I'm as fucking far from a "master" at Tai Chi, as any person with no serious training. REAL Tai Chi training, training in Tai Chi as a martial art, is murderously difficult; the students Yang Lu Chan chose to seriously train as martial artists, all had to endure 8 hour days, in addition to 4 hours of janitorial work. Back breaking, janitorial work.

  • Daoist philosophers insist, the only way to manipulate the flow of energy, is to "humble yourself."

It is possible that delusional thoughts, being disconected from the reality of just how insignificant we humans are relative to the universe, may have something to do with the brain and nervous system's inability to manipulate the nervous system in order to tap into Earth's magnetic or gravitational field.

  • although this borders on sci fi physics, the bioelectrical energy of the human nervous system could, theoretically, be "trained" into somehow manipulating gravitational forces, after all, the nerves are basically pure electrical energy biochemically generated, and the earth's magnetic field is pure energy.

However such a hypothesis is so far fetched, like I said it borders on sci fi; no reputable physics type would ever promote it.

  • If there is truth to Chinese legends though, of men who may have learned to manipulate Earth's very gravity, and use it as a weapon, that would be something.

  • the majority of bullies are cowardly asswipes; you don't need Karate to take them down, just "motivation."

still though I understand why olden time Chinese Kung Fu schools tested people's resolve; people who take up martial arts for all the wrong reasons, never last.

  • LOL

with me it was the opposite; I started losing fights (sparring) AFTER I took up martial arts.

man, talk about the wrong reason to take up martial arts...

"ah, yeah, I got beat up so now I'm here...."

the sensei is like "why did you get beat up?"

"I threw crunched up used toilet paper at this guy and said his mom screwed a monkey."

    ....

Dude, take up martial arts either to look good, like a 70's Kung Fu movie actor, or for health! But not because you were a douche!

  • I really hate how people get into the hype about Deadliest Martial Artist or Best Martial Artist have to be someone with "deadly move sets". How many times do they actually get to practice them in a spar? How many times do they actually use it? And if given a situation where they must fight to survive, how many times do you think they can execute it? Seriously...People that practice "regular moves " over and over are deadlier. After all, ALL martial art moves are designed to kill if done right.

  • I rember my sifu talking about the dojo wars alot of schools fought each other back then was a shame what happend

  • i was a member of the greendragon fighting society here in chicago, far northside. tuiton was 500 dollars per year.

  • i remember advertisements in magizines about count Danta

  • i think you only need to read the names of some of these negative comments, i mean, are we really going to take "valium summer" seriously?

  • what kind of name is dupisha ,, sounds like dipshit?

valium seems to be one of the most accepted drugs in the world.

i bet millions of mums are popping that shit right now..

    weedwinter09

  • Well i'm not sure about this guy but

there are peple out there deadlier Than bruce lee, chuck liddell and ken shamrock. Not every great martial artist wants to be on t.v.

  • The best fighter, the richest man, these are guys you've never heard of.

  • @cyrussanders bruce lee mostly became an actor because he had experience in acting since he was young.

  • @cyrussanders How do you know if they are deadlier than bruce lee, you didn't even met the deadliest fighter..no one did

    what a joke

besides all that, u telling me a bunch of shitheads full of tons of muscle mass due to steroids, who don't even have a grasp of what martial arts are, who fight under rules and equipment protection are some of the deadliest fucks alive...

stop watching to WWE and UFC, it leaves ppl dumber and dumber..

  • LOL @ "in 1964 when I was eleven and Karate was Young..." Karate's origins date back as far as the 1600's.

  • New to America, don't be such dipshit.

  • @1jks Suck it... Ass hat.

  • @valiumsummer I stand corrected...but that is not the narrative point it was young to America. We were a judo nation until the 1960s.

  • amazing. he was talking about Dim Mak back in the 60s. I remember those ads. If I knew then what I know now ...

  • NONSENSE SCHICKT ACT

but hey I like entertainment like every other moron.

  • The real people who are the deadliest, are the defensive shaolin monks.

  • @lovezitface when you see a Shaolin fight you see some serious skills borne from years of discipline.

  • "Count" Dante (were he alive) would not last one minute in the octagon with red meet eaters like Ken Shamrock or Chuck Liddel.

  • He was the real deal for his time.

  • this guy was a fucking joke, Bruce lee would have dispatched of this guy in 10 sec flat

  • probably not, since bruce lee's dead

  • @harveydents dude, u cant just say that. This guy was a great martial-artist and so was bruce lee. but he was no joke. he killed a bull with one punch once.

  • @harveydents 10 seconds? what the fuck? a real fight ends in less than 3

  • Fedor Emelianenko actually holds that title...

  • @xShyGuyx Fedor does rock a mofo's world.

  • oh yeah yeah yeah,...I heard about this dude,...he flipped burgers at Wendy s, right?? man those were some tasty burgers,...wait, WHAT? karate?

  • Bob Cooley killed him. The whole family knows it and now he is still making money off him.

  • he's dead. His best student and apprentice, Bill Aguiar, ran a black dragon fighting school out of fall river, ma. He's also dead now. They both seemed to kinda go insane towards the end...

  • He is not ALIVE

  • @DarkLightWhite You are probably more right then you know, but it is complicated.

  • i was born when John Keehan was 5 and i know all his move because he sent something i think a magizing i think and he teach us the teckneck

  • right.....youre 23 and yet you were born when he was 5...........even though he was born in 1939

you must be in special ed

  • I like the deer in the background :27 - :31

  • So the presumptuos 'deadliest man alive', 'master of the death touch' went with his students to challenge a rival martial arts school and it ended with his best friend (presumably also his best student) dead on the floor? What a phoney. I heard about him when he was alive and he couldn't shut his mouth about how easily he would had beaten Bruce Lee had they ever fought...right.

  • i dont believe it

  • He cant be the deadliest man alive, if he's not currently alie.... just sayin

  • Keehan was standing over Jim Koncevic's body when the police arrrived ten minutes after they raided the school. It was a bad situation that got out of control and martial arts got a black eye from it. Keehan's group suffered a major rift after that.

  • Jack Black

  • @moisesplaton holy fuck that's what i thought

  • I watched the video and I didn't see Chuck Norris anywhere!

  • he also went to parker to learn.

  • WOW Parker? Peter Parker Spiderman...lol joke

    Seiko

    Hyokin Unlimited

  • Many black belts did including Lee. Kenpo karate was popular on the west coast. Lots of trapping and clawing hand combinations in that disipline.

  • @shihanUKS bingo....

  • Count Juan Raphael Dante (February 4, 1939 May 25, 1975) was a controversial figure in the American martial arts scene of the 1960s and 1970s.Most notable of the early masters he trained under was sensei Robert Trias. Keehan, after gaining his black belt in karate, went on to become a sensei himself.Keehan grew disillusioned with conventional karate instruction's focus on ceremony, tradition and protocol over what he felt to be "effectiveness" his own style promoted as "street-effective".

  • Correct. Chicago,Il. 1963. Keehan snaps a "Chicago" brick on the second attempt with a bare knuckle straight punch. the first try broke his hand.He used the broken hand to snap the brick. Chicago bricks had lead plates in them for added strength. No one has done that since. Keehan taught my instructor and most of the top shorei- goju style black belts in karate history. An excellent kata, self defense, and fighting man. His moves were beautiful to watch despite his eccentric self promotion.

  • HEE ?! whats that? yeah you're deadly, deadly stupid, cant even get the right spelling!hehe! cheers!

  • why the deadliest man alive ? if he's already dead? huh?

  • I AM HEE!!

  • @gboygaboy17 i killed him so that makes me the deadliest man alive XD

  • look up deathtouchtom on here. he copied off this guy. so did george dillman. both guys are in the most talked about MA guys today; laughing stock of MA world

  • Is this the full video? I remember Webb working on this years and uears ago, and it was supposed to be a full length film, right?

  • He is working on a full length film. This is only a 3-minute film for Cinelan.

  • @LucPFT 4 years ago. could be six before i am done. that's independent cinema.

  • Too bad it's only 3 min. I was hoping for a full length film.

  • @onesteptoyourdreams it's coming!

  • BRUCE LEE

  • Bruce and Keehan understood each other without the indulgement of proving it.

  • another loser bit the dust...fascinating

  • Ehh worth watching... 3 stars.

  • This is the best 3 min doc I've seen on the web!
