Because it is a single-touch-reading touchscreen so using both hands would be quite pointless. Touchscreens are around since the 80ties so this is actually nothing that special. You can also use touch sensitive TFTs from Windows, Linux and Mac, since the OS doesn't require special functionality for single-touch touchscreens... to the OS it is just the same as a mouse. It only gets tricky when you are doing multitouch.

It is not just looks, it also increases usability a lot. Not only by it's Expose clone, but also with it's multiple Desktop managing (which Apple has cloned for 10.5), dynamic zoom, functions for visually handicapped people (dynamic contrast enhancements) and lots more.

I am running linux...and i have to say that your arguement is flawed. I have compiz fusion installed, and i have to say it is great and runs well...but the majority of it is not practical. while it is awesomely great fun, on my mac i like having the more subtle desktop effects. and the multiple desktops in leopard is no where close to the multiple desktops in compiz/beryl. it feels alot different and is very different. before you comment on OSX, please use it.

i've seen this before and i agree it's very, very cool. But it's it's not multitouch. This is a touch sensitive screen with nice GUI effects (which again are very cool). MTouch uses more than one touch point and gestures to interact with the computer (and will also make the mouse archaic). check out jeff han or some of the vidz over there -->
