Wow. Stephen Hawking has been one of the most inspiring people I have ever known. To suffer from such a terrible illness and yet still accomplish more that most healthy men. I just think its upsetting that so many that so many people would bash him for his appearance. I mean no-one bashes Albert Einstein and Hawking had taken his research further.

i love him, and i appreciate his work
but i don't really like the theory that there was nothing before the big bang, seems too empty and reasonless.
It would be nice if string theory was right, and that our universe is a bubble floating around a big place that has 11 dimensions with more universes, and maybe something beyond that.

I have always wondered why people argue creationism and scientific big bang theory, i have always felt like the two opinions are different ways of saying the same thing, one in layman's terms, and the other in scientific terms. explosive creating energy=God, one day on earth 10,000 years in heaven, very close to time slowing down in space at light speed, the earth took 6 days to create, that translates to 60,000 years in heaven to my mind.

Stephen Hawking has a great sense of humor, lol :) One of his favorite shows is The Simpsons (in addition to other comedy series) and that's why he even had a guest appearance there once. I remember thinking that he MUST have written some of his own jokes/dialogue in there.
Lucky bastard - being genious and getting to appear in all of his favorite TV-shows. *AND* not dying of a fatal illness that usually kills a person very young.
