  • i have a swing that lets me go 15 feet in the air. when i reach the top of the arc (when i begin to go down) i drop a rock or penny and it falls at around 1/4 its normal speed (ir looks like the penny is falling in slow motion.

  • if you want to become weightless ride a rollercoaster. on a large hill, you can drop a penny and it will float while going over the arc.

  • 'Orbital velocity' on the other hand is much harder to achieve, and requires you to accelerate to over 12,000mph, so that your centrifugal force acting away from the earth is balanced by the force of gravity attracting you toward the earth (centripetal force).. Hope this helps.

  • After about 20 seconds the plane is in a 50 degree nose down dive at nearly 600mph, so it is soon time to pull up. If you want zero gravity for longer you have to go faster and higher on the parabola. The first American in space (Alan Shepard) actually did the same thing, only to a much higher altitude (116 miles). These are referred to as sub-orbital flights because they don't actually have sufficient velocity to remain in orbit.

  • :-) thanks for the comment, well, you don't actually go in to space to experience zero gracity (many people get confused), you simply freefall as the plane performs a parabola (kind of like a rainbow), The plane is very accurately controlled so it accelerates towards the ground at 9.81 meters per second on both the up and the down sections of the parabola. Since I'm also accelerating towards the earth at the same rate, I get to experience weightlessness for about 20 seconds.

  • how do you do that ??? go to space in a a320 ???

  • it does cast lots of money, much fuel would be used.

  • i heard that joining that flight cast lots of money..
