How am I being a hypocrite? I WANT Republicans to support LGBT people, but what I'm saying is that Republican politicians don't. I won't vote for a Republican unless that candidate supports LGBT rights (and other issues that are important to me, such as the environment, education, etc.) It's great that you support LGBT people, but why do you oppose gay marriage? Why do we need a separate name for it if they are equally important and valid?
People used to argue that "separate but equal" was okay for blacks and whites (for example, it was argued that forcing blacks to sit in different train cars from whites was acceptable as long as the train cars were equal in quality). Of course, in reality, the train cars never were equal in quality. We have since ruled that "separate but equal" is not Constitutional. The lesson here is that if one group must be kept separate, it is not equal.
Also, the problem is that even if you personally support LGBT rights, if you vote for a candidate who opposes them (virtually all Republican candidates) you will still be furthering the anti-gay agenda, even if you yourself are not anti-gay. Do you see the problem here?
I can't believe that more than 1,000 people "disliked" a video about the president empowering our struggling youth. How sad. This campaign is extremely important. Good job Obama for standing up and making a difference in young LGBTQI lives!

One day my mother found out and as a teen I did have suicidal thoughts. @tomer3344 The defective genes are preexisting, but recessive. That means that there is one defective gene and one normal gene, but only the normal gene manifests itself. If 2 people of the same family have children, it is more likely that both will pass on a defective gene to the child, which will only then be physically manifested.

Look I am a conservative. I admit I don't vote straight line but majority of the time I vote Republican. I also believe any person Gay or Straight deserves to have the same rights. However passing laws for gay marriage is just wrong. Marriage should be recognized if two people can find a church or judge that agrees to marry them. Its really simple. Marriage is a union between two consenting adults or approved by the parents of the two people wanting to get married. Nothing more.
